I'm so sad to make this post but this store has gone downhill. What used to be a great place to get a nice bottle of wine or liquor is not a bad convenience store. There is no chilled wine and when I spent $50 on a bottle of Chardonnay which turned out to be corked they refused to try to make it right. If you are looking for overpriced beer this is your place. This averages out to a three because I give five stars to the shop and one for the treatment by an employee. Pretty sure I'm not the only woman he's been so incredibly condescending toward. My mom and I were both shocked. First, this is a great shop. I'd consider it a hidden treasure in Visalia. The wine room is awesome and the first employee who helped me was polite and friendly. Then another man came in and took over. He was rude, condescending, and seemed to be under the impression I couldn't read. Then, when I asked him if he realized he was coming across as very condescending, he told me I had "attitude." I'm sure I did have the attitude of someone who was really, really irritated. Horrible. I complained to the manager, so I hope he's not working there the next time I go in. If he is, I'm walking right out. This is a great shop, and I'd love to keep patronizing it. Back to the craft beer....yes they have the usual (Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, etc..), but they also tend to have those hard to finds as well. For example...I just walked in and a good 3 weeks plus after it's release they still carried multiple bottles of the Founder's CBS. Impressive. read more

Decided to go to franks liquorstore, after yelping liquor stores near me . So I will give 3 stars because they do have a big selection of alcohol wine and beers. But bad customer service went to pay for my items. I wasnt even acknowledge I had to be hi how is your evening and he looked at me like I was dumb. And I was over charged for my 3 pack of modelo it has a tag for $7.99 and I was charged $8.99 i was going to make him aware but he was busy talking to his co worker. So i just left instead. Our go to liquor store when visiting family in Visalia. They have a huge selection of beers but their wine selection isn't all that great.

I went in to buy a bottle of wine, the man at the register asked me if I found everything ok which I relied yes and proceeded to take out my card to pay. I swiped my card in the machine and he put his hands up at me and said with a major attitude that I swiped my card too fast and didn't even give him a chance to press the payment key. He then said you're going to have to get your card back out because you can't even give me a chance. I just looked at him in shock. He then (with his hand still up ) asked me if I knew how to swipe my card correctly. , I just shook my head in disbelief, and he explained to me how to swipe my card with even more condescending attitude. I reswiped my card and said "you are very unfriendly". Then he raised his voice at me and said really well I don't even have to complete this transaction. As a matter of fact I'm not going to!" And with that I looked at him and said "wow" and walked out. In all the years I've lived here I have been in the store many times and never have I been treated so rudely anywhere. I will never step foot in there again. If you're looking for a bottle of wine DON'T GO HERE!! You can find the same bottle of wine at world market or bev mo for half the price and not endure such horrid treatment. read more

The last two times I have gone in there they have tried to rip me off. Just went in and got a couple of drinks that were 2 for 4 dollars. He rings it up at 5.80. I told him they are 2 for 4, he rings it up again at 5.30, I ask the kid how do you get to 5.30 on 2 for 4, he tells me tax and crv!! I have no doubt what so ever they do this all the time. I ordered a keg of Pacifico, and I received a keg of Bud light instead. They supply based on what they have available instead of what the client requests. When I returned the keg, they tried to play games and claimed the tap was not theirs so that they could keep my deposit. BEWARE!! Terrible service. read more

I was looking for a liquor store that carried flavored vodkas. I went on yelp and found the reviews for Frank's. I had a feeling Frank's wouldn't disappoint. It turns out I was right. Almost half of the back wall was full of every flavor and brand of vodka imaginable. It was only $10.99 for all flavors of Pinnacle. I grabbed Cookie Dough and Marshmallow. I wanted more but I had to remind myself that I don't drink often and have no use for 10 different flavors of vodka. I was helped by a very nice and Knowledgeable gentleman. Not a big wine drinker but noticed they had an excellent selection. On some things the price was good and on others not so much. Wish I had more time to check out the beer and other items. I could have easily killed an hour looking at everything. Amazing selection. Will be back. read more

At first glance when u walk in, it looks like any other liquor store. In the back however there is a decent variety of hard alcohols (rum, vodka, etc). Some really cool hard to find brands. The wine room in the very back has a great selection, but I'm not a wine drinker so I can't tell u much about that. There is a case with cigars, and other then that it's just like a quickie mart kinda store. Employees seemed really nice each time I have gone in. read more

Ok, so a caveat -- this is my corner liquor store, so I frequent this place a lot simply due to it's proximity to me. That said, they do have an amazing selection of beer, wine, liquor, and cigars. Can't find that rare bottle you've been searching for? Ask one of the friendly and knowledgable sales clerks -- chances are they can special order it for you. Prices are a bit higher than some other locations, but based on the service and selection, I always recommend Frank's for all your alchohol and tobacco needs. Was waiting for my carry out order from across the street when I decided to check out franks. I'm a whiskey drinker and was checking out their selection when someone asked if they could help me. Gotta admit, I was a little taken aback because I'm used to shopping at big box stores with no customer service. The guy knew his whiskey and recommended a great single barrel Evan Williams.
