My friend and I went for lunch around noon. Everything about it was a 10/10. We needed help with the menu and our server was really nice and explained to us how the meats were cooked and what we would enjoy the most from our preferences we shared with her. I absolutely loved the Greek salad, the sauces that came with it was delicious. I ordered a Kabob plate with lulu kabob and filet mignon with spicy humus, and pita bread and rice pilaf. I wasn't a fan of the bread but everything else was on point. My friend got the chicken shawarma and she loved it as well, she enjoyed her Greek salad and said the cheese on it was one of the best she's tasted! I made a call before stopping by. I have my puppy with me and they said it's ok to dine at the patio with my puppy. My interaction with all the staffs was enjoyable. They are nice and polite. Portion size is beyond five stars - gyro wrap was huge and the plate was piled high. Then again, we started with the falafel appetizer and these were bigger and tastier than what we've had elsewhere. They have quite a beer, wine and cocktail selection so everyone can find something to their liking. The place was quite busy and if you sit inside, this place gets quite loud. A groups of us get together to celebrate birthdays, So I decided to throw some decorations in a bag and go for it! I arrived at PKG as they opened. I explained to the hostess that if possible I would like to go back before our party ,so I could set up a table. She got on her little ear mic and a few minutes later I was shown to the patio area . I just had Pita kabob for the first time on Wednesday night, and it was delicious! I got the chicken shawarma plate to go and it was phenomenal! Huge portion sizes. My friend got the spicy beef shawarma wrap and that was delicious too! Getting that the next time I come. I met one of the managers, Jason, and he was very generous! I have eaten at Pita Kabob and Grill once before. I really like the food vibe; they have a large outdoor patio as well as a dining room. It was warm today, so I opted for eating in the airconditioned dining room. We shared a couple of items including the Oriental Mezza platter and Shawarma fries. Both were very good but I especially enjoyed the Shawarma fries. Unfortunately, service wasn't the best. The restaurant was busy but they weren't full, but our server seemed to move slowly. I was visiting my aunt nearby who is recovering. I thought Mediterranean food would be a healthier alternative, so I picked out some food for my family to try. The staff were friendly and helpful. While waiting for my food, I perused around the mini-grocery next door within the cafe. I didn't go in to the seating area as I ordered take-out, but the area seems clean and modern minimalist. I thought the quality of the food was pretty good. The kebabs did not come on a stick, but they were well-seasoned and juicy. The fries were also good and easy for sharing. The Mezza plate had a good variety and good for sharing, but I wish there was more pita bread provided. If I happen to come by Visalia again, I wouldn't mind returning. And if I was doing take-out, I'd make sure to bring my own disposable flatware, napkins, and plates. read more

You should read some of the things you wrote about making assumptions and apply it to yourself. 2) How was my criticism not constructive? I told you exactly what the problem was, and I was fair enough to say the mushroom hummus was still good. 3) I first came to your restaurant in the first half of 2024, and the last time i ate there was at least 4 months ago. That's a total of about 2 years I was coming, the last 3 of which the food was terrible. So what you called "all those years" is no more than 2. And for your information, I DID write a positive review in 2024 after my first visit. 4) I never stated as fact that you changed your meat supplier, so you should read more carefully before you decide to respond to something. I ASKED if you did, and concluded it not true that "everything is exactly the same." Came here on a weekday afternoon and they got very busy during the lunch hour. The staff member was friendly but the wait was long. I ordered a falafel pita and a side of fries and told it would take 20 minutes. I got the food in about that time, However, I got rice instead of fries and had to wait another 10 minutes. I was surprised that it took that long to replace fries and unfortunately by the time I was able to eat my wrap with the fries, the wrap was cold. I was confused that they call it a "pita" when it was thinner than a tortilla used for a burrito. The pita was also missing sauce to make it more flavorful. The falafel itself was standard, and the fries were beer-battered, which I was not expecting. I'm glad you can have the to-go orders in the deli/cafe/pizzeria attached, but I was disappointed in the wait times. This place is great! For a very reasonable price we had a Classic Gyro and a Chicken Lavash. The meat was flavorful - the gyro had almost too much! This is an overall review of the past several experiences at Pita Kabob. First- the food is always amazing. Great schwarma, great fries, great protein options, amazing humus and pita/chips. We crave the food. But the three stars is because of the service. No matter if there is a single customer seated when you come in (like today) or it is mostly full- you will have a wait. It makes no sense. You walk in and they immediately quote you a wait- no matter what. Today we walked in and there was literally a SINGLE customer in the dining area and yet we waited for over 5 minutes. This is common, and incredibly frustrating. The actual service once you're seated is usually fine- sometimes slow, sometimes perfect. Today was a special kind of frustration. Three of us came in in the 11am hour and we were quoted a 5 minute wait. Another customer came in and placed a 14 person to-go order while we waited. Finally, we were taking to the dining room and there was only one other table sat... why the 5 minute (that was closer to 10 minutes) wait?? My son placed an order for a pizza at the deli and they said they would bring it to us in the dining room. The rest of us got our food, and ate, and finally I walked back to the deli to see them only then pulling the pizza out of the oven... meanwhile there were only two people in the deli... so they weren't slammed. I wish they would get their act together on the front of the house because the food is unmatched, but the seating issues and inconsistent service sees us often choosing another place to eat. read more

I usually like to try something new but this time I went with the hearty shawarma fries knowing I'd take home half of it for dinner later. I'm obsessed with the cauliflower, which I think is a seasonal special right now. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio where we received great service. How this place doesn't have a Michelin star is beyond me. 10/10. Every food item I have gotten on this menu has been packed with flavor, and not to mention the portions are huge. The Classic Gyro combined with tzatziki sauce was very flavorful. Large chunks of lamb and perfect amount of veggies and onions. The service was phenomenal, Alexia was always there for us and she was very friendly. The gastro feel inside was nice and there were tv's to watch sports on. Not refilling drinks, staggered food drop offs, not busing tables when they really need it, etc. I got there early when meeting some friends and tried to order a dessert for my friend to be brought out at the end of our meal since it was her birthday and they made it all awkward and brought it out, packaged to go before we even ordered dinner. Gah. Be careful when getting to go orders. My husband picked up some takeout for us one night and when he got home, the sauces were missing (tahini and garlic -- the best parts of the meal!). I reached out to let them know and they were very cold about it and acted like I was lying or something. They said if I came down with the receipt, they would issue a refund (but of course my husband lost it -- and also who is going to make a special trip downtown just for that?). I asked if maybe they could offer a coupon for our next visit to make things right, and they said its on the customer to check the to-go orders before leaving. Um ok, but why are we supposed to be double checking YOUR employees work. Sigh. Especially if everything is already bagged up and packed when picking it up -- what are you supposed to do? Take it all out on the check in counter? I didn't even really care about the lost money, it was just weird how aggressive they came off. Every time I come to Visalia for work this is on my top 3 places to eat. Service is great, there's even a bar in the back with TV's it's a great vibe honestly. My favorite thing on the menu in the shawarma fries (I think that's what they are called). A crispy fry loaded with so many toppings I can eat them everyday. Pita Kabob and Grill (aka PK) was one of the best restaurants during our visit to Visalia. It has the feel of a large gastropub attached to an outside beer garden and grocery store. Mediterranean cuisine is one of our favorite cuisines. No reservations accepted - so just show up! The portions are ginormous. I got the combo lamb kabob and lulu, which is a sausage version of beef-lamb gyro meat. One entree easily feeds two and the meats were so juicy. The sweet potato hummus was novel and great with a subtle hint of sweetness. Wife got the beef kabobs, which were still juicy despite cooked medium well. Salad, pita, and rice pilaf were all excellent sides. For the kids, you can't go wrong with chicken kabobs with pita and fries. Greek and Mediterranean restaurants seem to crank out amazing fries for some reason - long, thicker cut and crispy. Maybe its because you have so many different dipping options besides ketchup.
