Frank's Pizza and Kitchen might as well be a hidden gem, or at least a place to visit. There are no thrills here as inside you just place your order and pick up when it's ready. They are known for their Buffalo Chicken Pizza which is an interesting taste, but something caught my eye that I haven't seen in a minute. Broasted Chicken. Imagine deep fried chicken but it's in a pressure cooker where it's juicier and less greasy as a result. I am not going to lie, for an 8 piece chicken that's $14.99 that is a quite a steal in today's timeline. You get two breasts, two leg, two thighs, and two wings. It honestly an amazing deal and I would come back just for that. Since it was raining, we sat down at the only two tables outside that were the only places to enjoy our food. I couldn't finish eating 8 pieces of chicken so I took the rest home. It was still enjoyable even after my initial drive home. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza was also good, but the flavor comes mostly from the chicken. With the ranch adds more flavor to a new level. I liked it but I only had a slice and chicken to finish. We had multiple people tell us that we needed to try Frank's for the buffalo chicken pizza, and the ranch. The pizza was kind of dry, with minimal ranch/buffalo sauce, where the primary buffalo flavor comes from the breading on the chicken. We ended up adding buffalo drizzle and ranch on top of the pizza which made it better, but the buffalo would've been better if cooked in/on the pizza. Breadsticks left something to be desired - the bread itself didn't have garlic or Italian seasons, but they added garlic and parm on top (we requested this). There needed to be butter on them as a binding agent, and the lack of made them kind of dry also. The chicken tenders were actually great - no notes. Ranch was good but I'm not sure what the hype was - strangely thick ranch that had a goop consistency. People were very nice on the phone and in the shop. If you like Buffalo chicken pizza, give them a try, it might be your style. read more

Ive bought many food items from Franks they all have been hot and very well cooked and tasty or even fabulous. May be pricey on some items.

Always ask for change when paying in cash, if you do not ask for your change the driver will walk away and not give you your change. I called to see what could be done about this and woad told to come in and get my change, I work extended hours and live an hour away, the girl on the phone yelled "then you should have asked for your change and hung up on me". Frank's is my easy go to; I used to live closer to the Troy Hill location, but have moved recently and have started using Millvale now--and I'm never looking back. Every time and I mean EVERY TIME I get wings they are crisp. CRISP WINGS. of all the things in 2020 that I miss, it's sitting at a bar ant getting CRISPY wings set down in front of me. Frank's Millvale has saved me. I got super nostalgic the first time I got them and they crunched. I have a food allergy to red onion. When Matt called to order a hoagie, with dressing, no onion, due to food allergies, the young guy working there even had the sense to check the Italian dressing they use to see if it had onion in it, AND PUT IT ON THE SIDE WITHOUT DIRECTION, because he was concerned that I would have a reaction. Wait what??? I actually cried because someone looked out for my allergy. Now I'm gonna go order franks for dinner. Ordered a large plain cheese, large plain Sicilian, and large Buffalo chicken for delivery to axe throwing for a friend's birthday party. To start off, best menu item hands down is the chicken parm sandwich with their delicious ranch! My boyfriend and I ordered the pizza for the first time recently and WOWZERS!!! It was so yummy. We called before we went on a weekday around 4pm, and it was supposed to take up to 40 min (two hoagies). We realized why when we got there. They were busy! There were boxes of pizzas ready to go out the door. I really enjoyed my half chicken parm hoagie. The chicken was huge and it was delicious! The bread was fresh. It is a secret weapon that has been over shadowed by it's closest cousin the buffalo chicken pizza. I haven't actually tried the buffalo chicken pizza, which I should do very soon. It is just extremely hard to break old habits and especially when it comes to pizza. The real reason why their pizza is so good is because they don't skimp on cheese, or any ingredients. Let me be quite clear. I have never in my 12 years of eating Frank's had anything but the buffalo chicken pizza. It's that good. I know there is more than one location, and yes I have had them all, but Millvale is by far the best one to order from. All the employees tend to me generally nice and always approach me as soon as I walk in the door for a pickup. The chicken is broasted (which I understand to be a type of pressure frying) so it's different than usual frying. Prior to the Kvelertak concert last week, I found myself with a good bit of spare time, and feeling adventurous, I walked and walked in search of this particular Frank's (we've been to the one in Shaler before, and there are 2 others), finally coming across its Steeler-colored building in a residential part of the cozy borough of Millvale. For $5, I had myself a small version (4 cuts) of their famed Buffalo Chicken Pizza and was not unimpressed by it. A blend of cheeses topped it, one of them being cheddar. I'm guessing the others were mozzarella and provolone. The chunks of chicken were tender enough, but it was that crust, which when coated with the cheese, almost tasted like Pepperidge Farm's Goldfish crackers but with a dimension of chew. A cream-dream of a housemade ranch dressing came on the side, and I slathered it on each cut while I sat on a public bench that overlooked a babbling stream. Children ran past me, old folks chatted me up, all of them good-natured, each of them wondering just who this bald fellow was and why he was in town. The pizza is good but I just had an experience at the Millvale location where my friends and I ordered a pizza online and didn't get a confirmation. We called and were told that they had no order in our name and to call one of the other locations. They also did not have an order for us so we ordered from somewhere else. Three hours later we got a call from Millvale saying they had an order that we never picked up. We asked to speak to the manager and she said we had to come get the pizza and there was nothing they could do as far as a refund. So they wanted us to come pick up a cold pizza that we were told earlier was not going to be made. Then the manager said it was "not her problem" that we ordered online and didn't come get it, was very rude, then hung up on us. If you want to order from Frank's definitely don't order online and definitely don't order from the Millvale location. read more
