I recently visited Frank's Pizza in Jersey and had a great experience! The staff were welcoming and took the time to explain all the options, which was really helpful. The pizzeria itself has a traditional feel with plenty of booths and seating, although it was fairly quiet on the day I visited - maybe due to off-season. There was a steady stream of pick-ups, but not many people dining in. The parking lot, located in a shopping complex, had some spots available with a bit of looking around. Overall, I'd give Frank's Pizza a solid review - the service was great and the pizza was delicious! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

Idk what to give this place tbh. It depends on who's working I guess. The spaghetti and meatballs is either delicious or disgusting. The mozzarella sticks are good. I personally think the mozzarella sticks are the best item on the menu. But this place is either hit or miss. It's either good or nasty. Personally, I would not take the gamble after that cold & gross food I got tonight. Manville Pizza is considerably better in my opinion, even though they cost a little bit more & their parking isn't as good. The best thing about Frank's is that they deliver. And that's all I have to say about that... I'd order pizza from them & it's ok at best. But as far as meals? Their subpar at best. They gave me the wrong order tonight. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce NOT meatballs!!! Irregardless, I ate it and it was cold & had way too many onions. As an Italian, I'm low-key offended lol fr. What's baffling to me is that I had this delivered and I literally only live 2 minutes away from Franks. The only reason I had it delivered is cuz I'm having issues with my car & I wasn't about to walk through the town of Manville carrying a big box of food that was already cold that would have wound up getting more colds had I had walked. The fact that my food was cold is NOT cool. My mother also ordered a scrambled eggs. Her diet is very very very strict and you guys through hot sauce on top of that? Now she has no dinner and can't even eat that gross 'meal', so I'm going to have to make her toast. Literally a waste of money and totally defeated the purpose of 'take out' & me not having to cook. Now I have to cook with less money in my pocket. I threw my spaghetti out because it just was bad . Even the meatballs were just bad . Our party of four, which included a three- and six-year-old, were hungry after our excursion at Kids Empire Manville a kid centric indoor playground located in modest shopping plaza in Manville. It was a cold and rainy day; we wanted to dine somewhere close. Though Frank's Pizza only had a 3-star Yelp rating, they were in the same plaza, just a few hundred feet away. When we looked in the window, we could see they offered a nice variety of single slices, meaning the service would be quick! An important factor with two young and hungry kids. We went to the counter and ordered the following slices: * Cheese Pizza (2) * Chicken Parm Pizza * Penne Vodka Sauce Pizza * Cheese Sicilian Pizza They heated the pizza slices in the over, and they were ready in just a few minutes. I liked the slices I tried, the pizzas were on the thinner side, which I prefer, and the toppings were cooked nicely and tasty. The restaurant looked clean, our table was clean, the staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable and it's a good place for children. We'd be happy to dine here again. read more

Horrible Service!!!!! Stopped in Franks for dinner tonight at about 7:00 pm. The restaurant was relatively quiet except for a child's birthday party that was wrapping up and a few other patrons. No one greeted us as we walked in so we proceeded to seat ourselves. After several minutes a female server came to,our table to take our order. Once she delivered our food, she was never to be seen again. Not once did she ask how are food was or if we needed refills on our drinks. Finally, she came back and assumed we were finished and all we were asking for was some more water. She spent the entire time in the kitchen chatting with coworkers. Frank's Pizzeria is under new management according to the Facebook ads I've been seeing. I decided to revisit for lunch. Parking is plentiful because of their location. They do allow indoor dining, but are limiting capacity and have spaced tables out to reduce crowding. They have a great selection of slices available at the front counter. I decided to go with the Margherita square and the tortellini slice. The Margherita square featured a deliciously sweet tomato sauce, excellent mozzarella cheese, and a thin, crispy base. The tortellini slice was on the greasy side, but the creamy, delicious cheese and crisp, bready crust rocked! Overall, I like the pizza and I think you will too. read more

Ordered a meatball sub. It was neatly packed in a clear plastic container. The bread was fresh and soft. Well when I took my first bite all I could taste was bread and sauce. So I wondered if I had a vegetarian sandwich. Well to my surprise on a Full/large roll was only 2 meatballs that were sliced in half to look like 4 meatballs filled the roll. I was so disappointed that I paid for a whole sub to only receive what should have been on a half of sub. The food of lately is of poor quality perhaps they changed the Mozzarella cheese. The tomato sauce lacks seasoning it more like a salsa than an Italian pizza sauce. The service received today was by far the worst. The incompetent guy taking the orders was rude. Had lunch at Franks. Excellent. I had spaghetti with clams sauce (the red sauce). So good! Fresh clams in the shell with spaghetti. Very good. I chose the dinner selection and it came with a salad and garlic bread. The salad was also very good. Very fresh and a nice size. Definitely will go there again for lunch and dinner. Based on the reviews here, I really expected better. The food was decent, but I found everything, from the calzones to the past and especially the sauce, to be very lacking in seasoning and flavor. Hands down one of the blandest sauces I've ever had. I had to add a bunch of garlic, oregano and cheese from the table to my sauce to give it some flavor. They do use very good ingredients, but they just don't seem to want to season anything. From what others have said, maybe I got them on a bad night or a bad batch of sauce. But I won't be back. Stopped by here for a quick slice of pizza before a movie but after taking a look at the menu, the family wanted bigger meals. My husband and son got the pepperoni roll which they make to order. It's served with a delicious marina sauce and the boys loved it. My daughter got the cavetelli with fresh steamed broccoli in a nice garlicky sauce. She liked it but it needed salt. I just got the Frank's salad which was a generous portion of chicken, red peppers, mozzarella cheese, and sundried tomatoes with a raspberry vinaigrette. It was tasty and filling. We've ordered pizza from them frequently and they do a decent job of it. We've also sat down in the restaurant several times. The wait staff is friendly and attentive- and the few times we've been there with the whole family, they took a little extra time to joke around with the kids and help keep them at ease. The prices are in line with what you'd expect from a local pizza and pasta joint. The decor is probably a little dated, but it has that same kind of charm as you'd get from going to your old-school Italian grandparent's house. The food is good- I wouldn't call it great, but I'd still go back for more. The pastas are obviously not fresh made- and there really isn't anything wrong with that. All the sauces were tasty and the portions were pretty big- including the kids portions- which were not much smaller than the adult servings. I found the sauces tasty and homey. Some of the combinations found in the sauces work better than others depending on your preference. I recently had the puttanesca- which I liked- it had that salty pop from the anchovies and capers without being overbearing. My wife had Gnocchi Juliana- which are gnocchi with chunks of grilled salmon dressed with a little tomato. The gnocchi dish was good in concept but came off a little heavy- the sauce seemed to be very oily. In fact, my puttanesca was on the oily side too- the flavors were there though. I liked the few bites of the gnocchi I tried, but the sauce could probably balance a little better if it was lighter- more like a dressing for a salad than what it was. I can appreciate the effort and thought process behind the dish, the balance was just a little off though. I wouldn't call Frank's my favorite Italian restaurant, but there is enough variety on the menu and enough quality that I'd go back. The pizza is pretty good most of the time. Buffalo chicken pizza can either be the best I've ever had or not good at all but I'm usually willing to give them another try because they're so close, but now I'm not so sure I want to go back. I AM SO TIRED OF THERE NEVER BEING ANY GARLIC KNOTS. They only make it once a day, if that, and always run out by early afternoon when most people are still working. I usually have to order my food way in advance and ask they don't heat up my knots I can heat up those up when I'm hungry. I shouldn't have to go through this much trouble for freakin' garlic knots. Also today I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and the chicken is burned, there's not much chicken on it either and the pizza crust looks undercooked. I don't know how one goes about burning one thing and undercooking something else at the same time but they went ahead and did it somehow. I must have went there during amateur hour or something. Went in for a quick bite before a movie. Hardly anyone there. 35 minutes later we got the slice of cheese we ordered for the little one and after almost an hour we had to get the anti-pasta and cheeseburger sub to go. When we got home to finally eat, the antipsta was nothing more than a bit of lettuce with a few cold cuts tossed on top (they didnt even bother to roll them up!) and the cheeseburger sub was actually just a cheeseburger with half the toppings we ordered. We ordered food last night and the chicken was tasty, but the rest was not, plus since we paid with a credit card, they charged us a fee ! for using a credit card - they did not tell us that over the phone! The pasta fagioli soup is very watery, not good, and it had a hair in it! The salad is very small, mostly arugula, you get 1 cherry tomato and you get bread with the meal - it was an END piece. This is my first time came to Frank's and this review is based on take out order. The location is right next to Advance Auto Part, in a very busy plaza and nearby Walmart / movie theater. The dining area is spacious, and I was greeted right away. However, I decided to order a chicken parmigiana sub and buffalo chicken wings to go. The price was decent for both meals, it costs me $18.40 I just wished I could give more stars. It has nothing to do with the service or the ambiance. The food was just ok. I realized until I got home that I didn't get what I ordered. I got the veal parm instead of chicken. The bread was soggy, the sauce wasn't tasty and the veal was mushy. The buffalo wings weren't much better than the sub. I was very disappointed because the chicken wings were soft, it seemed they steamed the chicken before they deep fried them. Anyway, besides the take out story, Frank's also have pizzas on the display by the counter. You can order by slice and they'll heat it up for you. Have visited many times when in town... Tons of choices- by the slice or by the pie. Chicken parm pizza, eggplant parm pizza, grandma pizza are all excellent. I showed him that i called here and talked to a lady over the phone. He said the two lady's had no order. So I don't claim to be a pizza snob but a pizza should have some flavor in the crust right? As a long time southerner, I ate chain pizza as a religion, shoot I even worked for Papa John's before, and I made pizzas, I delivered them and i even ate my fair share. Sinve living in the north i have learned the different between a pizza and a PIZZA!!! In the last few months my local pizzeria has lost its edge I literally mean they lost thier "crust" edge. So tonight after an eight weeks dry spell from Frank's, I thought, hey let me give it one more try and it was just as disappointing as I remember, the crust taste like flour and water. I wish I did not spent my $13 on the lackluster pie. So this is my last stop here. I'll take the 5 minutes ride to Somerville to get a great pie with a dynamite crust. Frank's offers a wide selection of pizzas and sandwiches, excellent place to stop in for a slice or two or a easy dinner in their restaurant area. Certainly one of the better pizza and sub shops in the Manville area and don't leave the pizzas sitting out for very long on the counter which is always a plus in my book. They even have a bar there, though I've never seen it in use. Wouldn't mind going to a Subs & Suds or Pubs & Subs night if they hosted one. read more

I got to the place and the staff was in disarray, and it was a high volume time. I have ordered pick up here a couple of times because it is so convenient.Pizza was decent but,Sub sandwiches lacked flavor and at times orders were incorrect. Regrettably ,I took my family there for dinner. The pizza was exceptionally greasy but the real shock came when my wife ordered a chicken entrée that came with a side salad that was shriveled up and half frozen and a main dish that literally look like it was sitting in dirty dishwater with some frozen vegetables and bland chicken that was just gross. But what sent me over the top was the bad service. The waitress was cold and unhappy and constantly disappeared even though they're only four people in the restaurant. Pure garbage. Ordered a calzone and a slice of pizza to go. The lady gave away our slice to a different family and kept eyeing my family. So we went up to her and asked for our slice and she apologized and literally said she wouldn't charge us in addition to talking to her teammate stating that she will buy us the slice because she forgot about us and we thought we wouldn't get charged for it. Then she announces that our calzone is ready and places it on the countertop. We go back to the counter to pay our food. On our way out she hesitates and overhear her say, "no tip." First off miss tatted lady, horrible service, second, we said to go, third you gave away our food and charged us for our slice that it wasn't our fault you gave it away, fourth you eyed my family and fifth you complained not getting a tip. why would I give you a tip when you didn't bring us our food like all the other workers did and the obvious stated above? We have been to Frank's many times and have had delicious food and decent service. We went today for lunch and will never ever go back. We ordered a few sandwiches and 1 slice of pizza...it took half hour to come out. Mind you, we were the only people in the restaurant. Then I took a bite of my eggplant sandwich, and noticed 1 very sad piece of eggplant and a slice of tomato. It was a sad excuse for a sandwich.
