I ordered 2 salads to go. One was a Cobb salad the other was an antipasto salad. Neither were good. The Cobb salad the breaded chicken was over cooked and dry, bacon was deep fried and had the flavor of the oil plus over cooked, cucumbers size of a quarter 2 pieces and they were old and dried out, didn't see any tomatoes and a hint of blue cheese crumble. The antipasto was rolled ham and cheese 2 cherry tomatoes 2 pieces of salami and provolone. Not worth the money. Sorry to say but I won't be going back. What a huge disappointment tonight. We come once a month for YEARS and look forward to their delicious pizza. NOT TONIGHT! There was a whole new crew making pizza and as I watched them, I just knew there wasn't enough sauce. When I opened the lid of my box, the pizza was blond; undercooked; floppy, dough was tough, minimal cheese not perfectly placed as usual, and yes, lacking the perfect amount of delicious sauce. The sauce was bitter, what there was of it. So VERY SAD that something has changed there. Now we're forced to look AGAIN for a really good pizza place. What happened? Is there a new owner? A lot of the people in the area said this is where they get their pizza, so I figured we had to try it out. I've had some Italian dishes here in the past that were solid but ironically never tried the pizza until now. Solid crust and a bit of char. Nearly no flop at all and the sauce was tasty. Frank's is a wonderful local restaurant and was always our go-to for pizza and for Italian dinners when we lived in the area. We still come back to the Pocono's to visit family and Frank's is still where we go when we want a homey delicious meal at pretty amazing prices. We had carbonara, a buffalo chicken wrap, and broccoli rabe on our last visit and it was a wonderful meal. The broccoli rabe was really the standout and I would order that every time. We got the grandmas, upside down and chicken and bacon. Grandmas is amazing duper fresh garlic and basil. Upside is saucy and amazingly crispy. Chicken bacon ranch was spot on. Do not order their garlic knots! I have never gotten garlic knots that were literally soaked in grease the way these were. Consider yourself warned , I know garlic knots are usually greasy but these are above and beyond disgustingly greasy! I understood whole wheat meant whole wheat crust NOT a different pizza all together. When I arrived home much to my surprise and huge disappointment that I paid $18 for a crappy pizza that had ricotta & barely any eggplant on it. Called the pizza place - the manager or owner said that when "people call in they know what they want." He offered me whole wheat or regular but did NOT explain that those are w different pizzas altogether. I said when he told me whole wheat that it meant whole wheat crust NOT. a different pizza altogether. He said I could ask questions. And he said "you got what i asked for." There is nothing on their website or menu describing the 2 different eggplant pizzas. The pizza I got was terrible tasting & hardly any eggplant. It is NOT a specialty pizza. The customer service was non-existent & the owner couldn't care less that they made a mistake for failing to have descriptions of the 2 different pizzas listed anywhere or explained on the phone. A local guy suggested us to go there instead of anywhere else, then we decided to go. They have table service, they are good for groups and kids, they have good choices for everyone. We got 2 large plain pies, fried calamari, and drinks. Paid 40$ with the tips for 5 ppl! Everything was delicious and tasty. Staff was very friendly, too.
