We got to our Poconos vacation house, had our extended evening trip to Walmart, and needed to get some very late dinner. Pizza fit the bill. I called Brother Bruno's Pizza when we got in line at Walmart to check out and ordered two large plain pies. I was told 10 minutes and I said that I needed more time (I've never had such a slow cashier before (who then just left before the person in front of me was to begin)) so he said 15 minutes. We definitely got there late (it's less than five minutes away from the Walmart in a strip mall center) and the pizzas were ready. $18 each. The place is almost like any regular pizza place with a few booths. They also have Italian favorite dishes among other choices. There was no one in the place after 8pm when we picked up our pizzas. The smell of the pizzas was great on the way back to our rental. When we got home, it was dive right in. Great thinner crust with good cheese and sauce. Very enjoyable. Can't say anything bad about Brother Bruno's Pizza. It appeared clean, the food tasted good (we only had the pizza), and they were fast although they were not busy with other customers. I can only speak on a single slice that was a re-heat and I am due to return and try out some more stuff. I stopped in December of 2021 so as you can see, it's been quite some time since then and I need to get back up there and do a re-visit. The guy behind the counter was pretty much a typical pizza place employee...not what I'd call "friendly", not unfriendly...just adequate. Maybe 6-8 tables inside but mostly geared towards takeout. So a slice and a soda was over $6, so that was a bit concerning out of the gate, but I don't just based on stuff like that solely. I enjoyed the slice. There was a nice char underneath which I love, good snap to the crust, it was nice and thin, good cheese to sauce ratio. Not much else I can really say about it other than I'm due to head back in. I came here with my family at night for a pit stop. The interior looked a little dark, the food on the counter didn't look very fresh and there were some flies around the food. Day one of by 2022 Pocono Mountain Adventure. Today, I just arrived at my AirBnB. The homeowner provided a list of the top nearby restaurants, and he said Brother Bruno's pizza is the best in town. I decided to put his claims to the test and ordered a medium plain cheese calzone, a Sicilian pizza with pepperoni, and a mushroom with meatball Neapolitan pizza. The crust for the mushroom and meatball pie was pretty good. However, you can see that the mushrooms seem pretty underdone in the photo. I like them charged and browned, not pale. Meatballs were okay and the price was fine for the area. Also, I wouldn't call this a Neapolitan pizza. Neapolitan is more soggy, saucy, and has a very specific definition that this clearly doesn't meet. Mercurios is Pittsburgh is real Neapolitan. I don't understand why they call this Neapolitan because it definitely isn't, and they know that. 2/5 The Sicilian was decent. The portion was large and the pepperoni was pretty perfect. Not too oily, flavorful, and big. There was an ample amount of cheese. It's bready, but that's what I expect with Sicilian. Pretty pricy though. Overall, a 3.5/5. I try calzones at almost every pizza place I order from. The calzone here is quite good. It's not too bready, not too greasy, and a great size. Again, a bit pricy, but not terrible for the area. You can expect most things to be pricier here. It's loaded with more ricotta than most places I've visited. Very good calzone, but the marinara sauce is only okay. 4/5 What brings this place down a bit for me is the fact that they forgot my calzone, which took about 10 minutes to remake. No big deal though. It's clearly family own and run. Everybody is an authentic Italian! And it's super popular with locals from what I've seen. My only knocks are that the prices are pretty high and the Neapolitan isn't actually Neapolitan and overall I don't recommend that pizza style. It would be a 4 star review if I only had the calzone. A little whole in the wall but the food was actually pretty good. Lettuce was crisp and fresh for my salad. The food is super hot though... 20 minutes later it was still steaming. Terrible customer service. Ordered two entrees and a sub. Get home to an entree missing. Called and was told come back, no charge for missing entree. Great pizza. I picked it up on the way home from work and forgot to take the picture before we already ate a few slices. Unfortunately, we live about a half an hour away in Gouldsboro so it didn't stay hot but the smell in my car on the way home was amazing. I love that the use sliced sausage instead of the crumbled type. I grew up on NY pizza growing up (I joined the Army in 1983 and haven't lived there since). Trust me, this is real NY pizza. The garlic knots were awesome too. Nice olive oil mixed with garlic and parsley. I highly recommended Brother Bruno's. read more

Normally like the pizza here, we've ordered numerous times. Tonight I ordered one cheese pizza and one half veggie half extra bacon. The cashier and about 3 other men didn't know the price they charge for extra bacon so they're all trying to figure this out while we're waiting to pay. No biggie, maybe the cashier was new. Idk. But we're charged for the extra bacon only to come home to no bacon whatsoever and the half with veggies on it was so limp it was hard to even pick up... We came out to pick this up during torrential downpour so we won't be coming back to get it corrected tonight, but that's really disappointing since we're hosting family and didn't get what we were expecting. We were at Kalahari and DID NOT want to buy pizza from them. Not really worried about the price, we just wanted better quality. Instead we found Bruno's through Yelp. definitely a better choice! Unfortunately I called them bc it said they deliver... but they didn't. So I decided to pick up. Crust was an acceptable average, cheese was above average (not acidic tasting or greasy.) Toppings were not on the skimpy side. The place was dead, and the guys at the counter had extra time to chat with me. $36 for two pizzas, and half doz knots. We live in NJ were we have 3 awesome and amazing pizza places a mile away from us. And we were pleasantly pleased with the pizza we ate tonight! There was no online menu to be found so I added pics. I would highly recommend. On a trip passing through the area and checked out yelp for a place to eat. This restaurant didn't disappoint. It was quick and delicious. Brother Bruno's has some of the best Italian Recipes and will modify your requests. I go wild over their marinara shrimp Parmesan. The marinara sauce instead of the regular sauce is my go to. When dining in with out of towers, everyone raves, usually New Yorkers and my sister family from the Midwest. Its like Luna on Mulberry Street and the even have The best Sicilian slices! My husband and I ordered spaghetti with chicken and shrimp. Waiting about half hour to 45 minutes. Paid $50 left and got to our place to eat. It was breaded shrimp and chicken! What would make you put breaded chicken and shrimp in spaghetti??? Grilled chicken and sautéed shrimp would have been ideal. The spaghetti had no sauce on it. Worst service ever! Waited an hour for one cheesesteak, a regular cheese slice and one pepperoni slice. A lot of people came after us and received their order before ours. Ordered $40 worth of food. 2 hero's & a chicken parm dinner w baked ziti & salad. Unfortunately, I trusted the order was correct. Big mistake! I drove 20 min back to my hotel, in the rain, opened the bag found 2 hero's & spaghetti w a salad (no dressing(requested ranch)). No chicken parm!!! WTH did i pay for? I called & they told me to bring it back & I'd have to pay more money! Does that make sense?? So, he found my order & told me to bring back the spaghetti & swap it out the next day!! I really like this place. Not really a place to go out for an event but food really solid. In a small place service good with young attentive staff Touch of scicilisn mafia about the place including some authentic pictures of (I assume) relatives "T he Godfather?simply tastes better than typical Italian food. Not so much as an event or food hole but just great value and if you fancy it a great choice. I usually go lunchtime and always the same.
