Came here for a quick lunch for some pizza. Papa Santo's Pizza hit the spot. The place has a full menu and seats about 20-30. Colorful murals line the walls. It appears clean when we were here about 11:45 on a Saturday. They had about six pizzas set up for slices and one guy walked out with an order for eight pizzas while we were eating. They have a two slices and a fountain drink special so that's what we went with. I had a plain and a Sicilian slice, and my friend had two plain. Probably ended up to be a little too much for us. The pizza tasted good but not my favorite (many, many opinions about pizza). It was thin and almost tasted like mall pizza. Very thin and some grease on top. Burned the roof of my mouth. I had a doctors appointment across the street. I had an hour to kill and I was starving. Against my own judgment, I went to Papa Santos with my wife. We sat down and the waitress took our order. One Stromboli and two slices of pizza. We waited 45 minutes. We both got up and went to the counter and said we're taking the food to go because we can't wait any longer. They had our food in a box sitting on top of the oven! I asked the waitress why wasn't it served to us? She said she forgot. There was only two other customers in the pizzeria, what the hell? Came here on a rainy night and it was relatively easy to get a reservation. Good selection of pasta and pizza, freshly made. Service was great, the lady was so nice and patient with our large group. Servings were on the larger size which worked out perfect for our group. read more

My husband and I never miss a chance to stop at Papa Santo's when we're in the Blakeslee area and have always enjoyed it. We stopped on Saturday and are so very disappointed. We ordered takeout so didn't realize until we were home... We ordered the mussels and clams in a fra diavolo sauce and it had literally ONE baby clam in it and ONE mussel. Barely any sauce. My family and were up here on vacation. There was a line but it went very quickly. Service was quick and friendly. Pizza (plain or veggie), calzone, parm sandwiches (chicken or meatballs), and bruschetta are our go-to meals. The service is consistently very good. It is obvious that the owner is customer focused. Overall, solid pizza! A bit skeptical about this place because of the reviews, but in terms of the pizza, it was a lot better than we expected. I will preface to say that the food in this area, in general, is not that great, which is why this pizza exceeded my expectations. My family and I called in our order after a day of tubing at Blue Mountain. This was one of the few pizza places that were open after 6:30PM in the area. The process was easy and had no issues with ordering. We ordered a Hawaiian, spinach ricotta, and Buffalo chicken pie. I didn't try the Buffalo chicken, but the spinach ricotta and Hawaiian were both BOMB. Some people in the reviews seem to complain about a "burnt" taste to the pizza, but I can assure you, that is on purpose! And it really adds to the taste of the pizza. If you don't like this style of pizza, then Santos is probably not for you. Spinach ricotta was my absolute favorite. Loved the ricotta and the amount of spinach each slice came with. It even tasted great when it wasn't heated up. So much flavor to this pie! I'm not sure what size pies we ordered, but the slices were HUGE. I was full after one slice but continued to eat because I liked the taste a lot. All in all, I'd say this pizza is pretty good! Simple pizza and Italian joint, with a number of tables and you can get takeout. $5 two plain slice and a soda or $6 for a single topping, good deals. The clam pasta with white sauce was thick and garlic was a little light but not sandy so that was good. Needed a bit more flavor. Parking lot in the strip mall is terrible though. Well, that was a once and done. Son's sandwich was supposed to have raw not fried, he had fried. So much exposed roll inside where steak should be. My husband got a pizza steak, you couldn't even tell if there was cheese on it. The little bit of sauce they put was soaked into the roll because it was such a small amount. Mine was supposed to be a chicken cheesesteak with lettuce tomato and onion, it was gross. Pretty sad as there isn't much in the area and now this is off the list of possible places to eat. read more

So most of the food was ok. Nothing over the moon but typical for what you expect in the poconos. However 2 things that were subpar and we just ended up tossing (Fries & the Zeppolis). The fries were cold, had ZERO flavor, and a waste. The zeppolis tasted terrible too. They were overpriced and they were uncooked inside. It was like chewing on raw dough. We ate here 2 years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it, and our return trip was no disappointment! I was thrilled to see they had survived the pandemic - we stopped to have a meal and were greeted with a 2 for $20 special of any dinner entree (except veal) Which included side salad and bread. Ordered Papa Santos Special pizza for a pick up. When I got home to try the pizza, it was not completely cooked. Raw onions and barely cooked mushrooms covered the pizza. Green peppers tasted almost expired so had to throw those out. We had to cook the pizza ourselves in the oven. After it was fully cooked, it tasted okay, nothing special but this is one of the few times I would not recommend ordering from a restaurant. Cannot comment on the service since it was a pickup order. Interior looked fine, a bit gloomy but it's a pizza shop. Go somewhere else. We were in town for the weekend and after a full day of geocaching we were hungry and this place was close and said our pizza would be ready in 20 minutes. They also had an online menu which is important in such situations. We ordered the Papa Santos Special Pizza which included pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms. It had a decent amount of "stuff" on it, but could have had a bit more. This was a thin, New York style pizza. I liked the crust, it was doughy and chewy, but my husband didn't really enjoy it too much. Price was decent at $20 for a large. We were heading to Great Wolf Lodge with the hope of enjoying some water park time in the evening. Due to an overturned tractor-trailer (hopefully no one was hurt), we were delayed and decided to stop somewhere as dinnertime approached. So my wife found this Papa Santo's in her search and we decided to give it a try. We were very pleased with our experience. First, the menu is huge. It's got everything a typical pizza shop would have plus an entire Italian menu. The kid's menu was a little overpriced ($8-$9), but had good sized portions. The prices for the Italian entrees ran from $10-$20, but we found out that they had a 2 for $20 special. That included everything, including the seafood dishes, except veal (which is okay with me). So dinner for a family of four ended up being under $40. My wife and I got similar dishes...she had Shrimp fra Diavolo and I got a Clams & Calimari in red sauce. Both the sauces were the same except hers was spicy. The sauce was very hearty and full of flavor. If we're running late in the future, we know we can find a good meal here! read more

Girl up front put her mask on as i walked in. Saw a dude swagger out of the back with no mask on, presumably to the bathroom or storage. Swaggered back to kitchen, still no mask. I mentioned this to the girl as i was signing my credit card slip. "Sorry I'll tell him" Other dude had come out front at some point to make a pizza with his mask on. Just ordered a pizza to bring home. Upon my first byte, I tasted a burnt taste. I immediately called them to express my concern. A woman handed the phone off to a man. I told him that the pizza is burnt. He said "no, it is not burnt, thats the way it is cooked" i repeated to him that "it is burnt". He again denied it and said that's how it is cooked, on a stone". I said "so, many people cook it on a stone". Still wouldn't budge...I hung up. Does this look burnt to you? Doesn't even matter about looks...IT TASTED BURNT! Easily best pizza on the mountain. I grew up in North Jersey where good pizza is everywhere. I now live near Philly where good pizza is in North Jersey. We also have a place up here near Lake Harmony, and this is by far the best. 2 things I would improve, but will not knock my score, get a better location as most of the store fronts are abandoned. Secondly, the slices are way better than the whole pie you will take away. Employees here are friendly and have table service. Reminds me of most of the hole in the wall pizza joints I grew up on... and that's a good thing. read more

This has to be one of the better pizza joints I've eaten in awhile. This isn't good just for the area of limited options, it's genuinely good amongst all pizza / Italian places! I stumbled across this place based on Yelp and to be honest, didn't expect much. It's located in a strip mall surrounded by vacant shops. Once inside, you can smell the pizza and if you took the time to stare at people's plates like I did (I'm a foodie creep), you'll see a variety of dishes from pizza to pasta to seafood. I went in expecting to order a pie, but walked out with just 2 slices for my son (age 2). I rarely order a non-pizza item from a pizza place, but the girl at the counter persuaded us otherwise with just cause. I had the zuppe do pesce over linguini and it totally hit the spot. Rich, red sauce, perfectly cooked linguini and a good amount of seafood had me devouring this like an animal. It also came with a roll and salad. That roll was used to soak up all the red sauce out of the tin. (like I said, an animal!) In my 5 day vacation in the area, I actually came back here a second time to order a pizza and it didn't disappoint! Perfect crust, amount of sauce, and generous amount of cheese. The food here is really good and the prices are fairly priced. The pizza, pasta, and appetizers tasted fresh and very flavorful. The waitress was super nice and was attentive. She checked on us multiple times and offered to refill our drinks 3x. We arrived at night and the parking lot seemed kind of empty/sketchy but inside, there were still a few diners and the atmosphere felt cozy. It's about time I wrote a review for Papa's. Moved to Pocono's 10 years ago plus the 20 years I was a visitor. Got to agree that the locale is kinda funky with all the other store fronts empty, BUT I have never been disappointed and we have had many different menu items over the years. No doubt that the few bad reviews were, for whatever reason, valid to that individuals experience. I am telling you as a "frequent flyer" it's a reasonable $$ and great place for pizza, salads and dinner whether you eat in or take out. The Veal Parm, fantastic! Pizza, cheesy and hot every time! He had: Chicken Parm sandwich on a toasted roll. I had a bite, the marinara was tasty. He wolfed the whole thing down. He said it was really good. I had: Cheesesteak with fried onions. I would next time ask for my roll to be toasted. The roll was a little too soft for my liking for a cheesesteak. I like my rolls to be a little more hard, not stale, but more firm to help keep the gooey goodness inside the roll. It was plentiful. I only ate half. We shared the onion rings. They were more of a beer batter than a breadcrumb coating. I hate when you take a bite and the whole onion piece comes with it. That is the type of onion rings we had. They were a little cold, but we did get them to go and had about a 15 minute ride back to our house. I wouldn't hold this against them. We made out well 2 sandwiches, onion rings for $17.
