    Chicken Marsala Pizza Slice
    Joanne G.

We come here practically everyday. I'm tired from work, so when my son and I come out of school we come here dinner. 1 slice keeps us full all night. Pizza slices are large are lots of toppings in every bite. The location has lots of parking and very quiet dining area. Fries are super crunchy and they serve a lot of it. See you guys soon!

Fresh, crisp house salad. Uses interesting mix, and a great side, for my pizza!

Haven't been here in a while, much to my regret. We've always been happy with Frank's, and today's revisit was no exception. The service has been and continues to be excellent. Attentive but never intrusive. And always cheerful. Their per-slice pizza is larger than most, and the varieties are many. I've never found their pizza to be greasy, oily or over-cheesed. My daughter's chicken parm was generous but not greasy. The kitchen does a great job. Even my salad was fresh & crisp. So nice to return to a place that is consistently great!

    Grandpa slice

I stopped in here for lunch today and really wanted to like it. The location is good, plenty of parking, lots of seating, and a nice staff. Unfortunately, the pizza was not very good. I ordered a "Grandpa" slice which was dry and the crust was like cardboard. There are so many other good pizza places in the area to choose from. I hope this place improves, but I won't be back any time soon.

    Pizza Not Fresh!

Ordered online for delivery. Pizza not fresh very old looking called to voice concern and spoke to "Eddie" "Eddie" was sooo confrontational wanted to give me lessons on how to voice my complaint stating that I should NOT SAY i felt the food was not fresh Because thats a "LIE" etc I felt disrespected and also rudely treated Awful. Who is the owner ?!! Because if this is who you have representing your establishment this is truly sad!!

Gave it a few tries. Mediocre. Basic bland pizza in an areas surrounded with better options. I'll Pass.

Delivery would be 45-60 minutes, so I set my timer for 30 so I'd be ready to put the light on in the vestibule for the driver to see. Before I knew it, I got a call that the delivery driver, Joshua, was at the door! It wasn't even 30 minutes! He must have cooked my food on the way over! Joshua was very pleasant and the food was very hot! I ordered a large half sausage pizza with a side of fried mushrooms, which were both delicious. The pie had a nice thick crust, which is how I like it. I never eat the bottom crust, but break off the thick crust and scoop up the toppings. It was perfect! The fried mushrooms were tender with a very crispy & tasty coating. They were a nice size and there were plenty of them...even had some left over. Everything from placing the order with a very sweet lady to my last bite was great! I definitely recommend trying this eatery. FYI: There is parking in the lot behind it (same as where Stephanie's Italian restaurant is, since there is no parking allowed in front on Bloomfield Ave.).

When you've been around greatness, you know it when you taste it…read more Tony D's Pizza in Caldwell is championship-level--no question. This is some of the best pizza in Essex County, period. ***3 1/2 stars***…read more Maybe it lost something in transit or I didn't get the right pie, but I wasn't blown away by this place. I've had Tony D's on my list for a while, knowing it had a solid reputation amongst the North Jersey Italians (and what better demo to have it from?). Yesterday was a perfect opportunity to order/grab some pizza and bring it over to my top-tier chum in nearby Montclair for lunch. I didn't do a ton of recon so maybe there was a more obvious/modern method to ordering, but from what I could tell, this place was pretty old school and I just picked up the phone and called over - honestly can't remember the last time I did that, but it brought a nice whiff of nostalgia for me after years of ordering on apps. Didn't realize that Tony D's is literally right around the corner from my BFF Cloverleaf, so the location is pretty convenient if you're in the area. The parking in Caldwell can be pretty annoying, and even though I'm sure I could have rolled the dice I paid a little less than a dollar to park up the street further into a residential neighborhood. Given that Tony D's is exclusively delivery/pickup joint, I think they should pay for the spots right in front as a courtesy to their customers coming in and out; maybe they do and I missed it but if not... Anyway. The guy behind the counter was VERY nice/friendly, and even though I was a few minutes early based on the estimated ETA off my phone call, the pizza literally had just come out of the oven and was ready to rock. From that vantage point, top-notch service. The specific pie that seemed to be their go-to was the Drunken Grandma, which is usually one of my favorites (vodka sauce on pizza should be much more prevalent in my opinion) but I wasn't crazy about the chunks of tomato on it. In hindsight, would have been easy to pick off or even to request that they not be included to begin with, so that would be my recommendation based on this experience. I opted for a square plain pie, especially since I knew that a few young pups would likely be sampling the wares; seemed like an overall safe bet. Optics-wise, I thought it looked very good, and I don't regret going square here. The crust for me was probably the best part, and I made sure to strategically grab all of the corner pieces once we started eating. Nice crisp to it for sure. The overall taste of the pie just wasn't my thing. I wasn't crazy about the sauce (maybe another argument for the vodka sauce, right?) and the cheese was just okay. Tasted to me more like generic by the slice pizza, which isn't my preference. My top-tier chum liked it more than I did, so definitely could just be an issue with palate preference here but this might have suffered from inflated expectations. I'd give them another shot if a similar circumstance presented itself, but I'd go with the pie it's known for - there's a reason the Drunken Grandma is front and center in almost every review. Learn from me.

We tried the penne vodka and the works pizza and had plenty of leftovers for two. The penne vodka wasn't quite as flavorful as I would usually like and some pasta pieces were still hard unfortunately. The pizza was nice and crispy, lots of toppings and perfect amount of cheese. Prices were pretty average. As for location, they have a full parking lot and parking right on the street, which mainly seemed used by those grabbing take-out.
