Hard to tell from just one takeout experience with someone else picking the slices, but I'll give it my best. * Value. The other pizza places are several dollars more for the size. And I'm not sure they beat the quality (but I don't live here to try them all in a short span for comparison). * Service. We ordered large, then realized the large at Frank's is 16" but the large at Frank is 18". (Yes, you'll find Frank's and Frank in the same town.) Called back and upgraded to an extra large without a problem. * Quality. You get a good amount of ingredients on each slice, they don't skimp or overload. I think they balanced the multiple toppings well, though didn't notice the garlic among the other ingredients (again, not my order). * Taste. I'm a pizza snob, so from the bottom up: Good quality crust, proportioned correctly. Very nice sauce. Too much cheese and especially tasted too mozzarella for me - everyone's got a different blend. Came here with friends to take advantage of their lunch specials, which are quite reasonably priced. The food was good and I'd come here again because my friend group can all find something on the menu they like but there wasn't anything that stood out about it. Still, my Chicken Caesar Wrap was tasty, the lettuce was well coated with dressing and chicken was a good quality. It was fresh. Our server was very competent and the interior is very clean. Unexpected visit to visit relatives in NJ, so had to stop at Frank's again...still 5 out of 5. Had a "Steak Special" sub which is basically a Philly Cheesesteak. Excellent. Great chew on the bread. We come here practically everyday. I'm tired from work, so when my son and I come out of school we come here dinner. 1 slice keeps us full all night. Pizza slices are large are lots of toppings in every bite. The location has lots of parking and very quiet dining area. Fries are super crunchy and they serve a lot of it. Great food, great service; very accommodating! I am a teacher of students with disabilities. My students are learning life skills and travel out into the community once per week. Part of the experience involves eating a local restaurants. I contacted one of the managers of Frank's in advance to arrange our visit on January 9th and to see if they could accommodate our large crowd. They were very happy to accommodate us and looked forward toward our visit. When we arrived for lunch, the entire staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Attended a week-long training in New Jersey. Every day we ordered lunch from Frank's, so I got to try several items on their menu. Their salads are huge! I had the chicken caesar - the amount of chicken on the salad was huge! However, the chicken was a bit dry- you could tell it was cooked a while ago (day before?). I also tried their Cobb salad- this was a better choice. Lots of hard boiled egg, and fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and lettuce. I especially liked the plentiful crumbled bleu cheese! Lastly- I had a slice of their pizza- sausage topping. Plenty of cheese and sausage. Quite tasty and satisfying! All in all- Frank's is a good place to order lunch from. Haven't been here in a while, much to my regret. We've always been happy with Frank's, and today's revisit was no exception. The service has been and continues to be excellent. Attentive but never intrusive. And always cheerful. Their per-slice pizza is larger than most, and the varieties are many. I've never found their pizza to be greasy, oily or over-cheesed. Not necessarily the number one pizza but excellent dinners for very reasonable prices. It is a basic Italian restaurant/pizza joint. If you are trying to compare it to some of the higher end/higher priced restaurants in the area you really need to consider the price difference. They offer some great specials, like chicken dinners for $13.99 on Monday and Tuesday which include salad and bread. We tried the Chicken Sorrentino and the Tilapia Livornase. The new owner was very nice and got on the phone personally to ask how I wanted the food made. He was very willing to customize the meal for me. We will definitely be back. read more

We ordered from Franks last night at 8:10pm, didn't receive the pies until 9:55pm. We called repeatedly and each time was told that the pies would be there shortly. After our pies arrived we called Franks again to better understand what the issue was regarding the major delay and why it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to deliver 3 pies 5 blocks. My wife called and after being called "hun" by the initial person she spoke to, she asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Phillis, was by far one of the most unprofessional and rude managers we have ever spoken to. Phillis called my wife dumb repeatedly and told us we should have ordered from dominos instead. Being a family oriented town and serving our community, this is unacceptable behavior from a business and a manager. From now own we will be ordering from other business and not from Franks. I don't appreciate my wife being called "Hun" in and effort to belittle her or trivialize her complaint and furthermore to have a business call a customer dumb is enough for me to write this review and suggest Franks is not a quality family oriented Caldwell business. read more
