Today is Monday and they usually have a deal which is on the sign outside of their business which says Mondays and Thursdays 2 plane pies with a liter Coke for $25. I went in and placed my order, two large pepperoni pies. I come back inside 10 minutes later, and my pies were finished. I asked the guy behind the counter who made the pies. Do I get a soda? He said no I asked him about the sign outside. He said it says two plain pies. "I don't know why you're so upset" he says. I said I'm not upset but I paid $35 for two pepperoni pies and I get no soda? He said for the price that I paid here, anywhere else would be more so I should be happy. Okay No problem. Last time I will ever come here and the pies are even even that good.

First time back here in years!

The pros of Frank's Pizza include....Plenty of parking, lots of seating inside, reasonable prices. The cons....Pizza was average at best. I had a slice of sausage which was a bit dried out. Maybe a different slice would have been a better choice, maybe not. There are plenty of different type pies to choose from. There are so many amazing pizzerias in northern NJ, this one didn't quite cut it for me.

Update: August 2021.... We had dinner here twice this week and take out once. This place is amazing -everything we've ordered has been absolutely delicious. You must try Franks in Roseland on Eisenhower parkway. Great pizza, excellent dinners and fabulous garlic bread too. They are always friendly and very appreciative of your business. And their prices are very reasonable!

I stumbled upon this little jem by pure accent and needles to say I am happy that I did. The pizza quality is very good, not too thin or thick. The toppings were flavorful and plenty. I also shared a garlic not which wasn't pictured, it had tons of garlic and was lovely.

Not worth $8.51, even if it were the last panini on earth.

I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel like I have to for this place. I've been coming here for a few months every now and then. The pizza is always okay, and the people who work there seem nice enough. They don't post their drink prices on the fridge, and they have signs saying "no free refills". It does scream cheap, especially if you know that the cost of soda syrup is a matter of pennies. Today I decided to try a panini special, which is "eggplant, spinach, roasted red pepper, and mozzarella." Sounds good, right? Nope. Two thin, pre-frozen fried eggplant patties, some frozen spinach, and a sprinkle of red pepper and cheese. I paid $8.51 for this, and the value is honestly just not there at all. So much for a healthy choice at lunch. (My bad for not asking if the eggplant was grilled or not.) If you want a great vegetable Panini, try Brookside Diner instead. $10 gets you piles of fresh grilled eggplant, red pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, and mozzarella, and comes with soup and salad or fries.

Pizza with eggplant and fresh mozzarella!! Yummy!!

Missed NJ Pizza. Frank's Pizza is definitely yummy. This was my second time there. I would have rather had fresh tomatoes instead of the red peppers. :). Last time I had fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil that was really yummy too.

I have seen reviews on YouTube thru…read morethe yrs and just heard of the location by name since it's been around so long but this weekend was craving a slice and wanted to start knocking off some of the places I had on my list to visit. The location itself is a combination of everything I like...somewhat dim lighting, long tables, long bar, booths, and hometown/locals feel. So...haha...a tavern...Parking is ample immediately adjacent to the bldg and there is also an overflow lot if you can't find a spot in the main parking lot. Menu has their specialty pies/standard food offerings and they have a chalkboard inside with their specials and drink specials. Pizza is a thin bar style pie. Very thin crispy crust which I prefer because it allows you to eat a few more slices without feeling full or dead tired from dough/carbs. We got a white pie and a buffalo chicken pizza...concluded things with their desert pizza which has apples, butter, walnuts, cinnamon, and sugar. All three were spectacular! Everything I had seen on YouTube from folks like JL Jupiter praising the location were spot on! Ingredients were all fresh. Pizza was crisp. Service was fast. The staff was welcoming and pleasant. Stefania was our waitress and she was great. Attentive, checking in regularly, clearing the table promptly and brought the check out without us having to wait long. I have nothing negative to say about the pizza or the experience. Drove about 40 mins to get there and it was well worth the drive. If you like thin crust pizza and that true tavern vibe/experience this has to be on your list of pizza restaurants to try. Has to be.

They were packed when we got there but we didn't have to wait long to get a seat. What we ordered: - Buffalo Wings - Mozzarella Sticks - French Fries - Regular Pizza - Regular Pizza with Pepperoni - White Clam Pizza - Old School Everything Pizza without Anchovies The food came out piping hot and everything we got was good. The wings were crispy and had a lot of sauce. We all enjoyed the pizzas even though bar style isn't our favorite. The only thing to note is my friend ordered a Blue Moon beer and never got it even though she even reminded them again. By the time the meal ended she was too full for a beer anyways. Honestly we don't even know if we got charged for it because we didn't examine the receipt before we paid by cash. Besides that everything went well and we would recommend this place.

From the moment I walked in, I had a great experience. I was greeted by a very friendly hostess who made me feel welcome right away. I actually wondered if she might be the owner because she was so welcoming. The restaurant itself has a vibrant, comfortable atmosphere with great ambience. I was dining by myself, so I ordered a medium thin-crust pepperoni pizza. Before the pizza came out, they brought me some bread, which was delicious and definitely got me ready for the meal. Then the pizza arrived. After my first bite, I immediately understood why I had heard so many good things about this place. The thin crust was perfectly crispy and crunchy, and the pizza had excellent flavor. I ended up finishing the entire pizza! I probably could have ordered another one, but I had to remind myself that I'm trying to watch my diet. The price was also very reasonable. My entire meal was under $20 since I just had water, and the quality of the food was excellent for the price. This was easily one of the best thin-crust pizzas I've ever had. Angeloni's Restaurant & Pizzeria has definitely become one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in the area, and I'll absolutely come back. Next time, though, I'll bring my significant other or a date because eating all that great pizza by myself was a little lonely! If you're thinking about trying Angeloni's, check it out. You won't be disappointed. The pizza alone is worth the trip! 10/10 -- definitely a 5-star experience!

***3 1/2 stars***…read more Maybe it lost something in transit or I didn't get the right pie, but I wasn't blown away by this place. I've had Tony D's on my list for a while, knowing it had a solid reputation amongst the North Jersey Italians (and what better demo to have it from?). Yesterday was a perfect opportunity to order/grab some pizza and bring it over to my top-tier chum in nearby Montclair for lunch. I didn't do a ton of recon so maybe there was a more obvious/modern method to ordering, but from what I could tell, this place was pretty old school and I just picked up the phone and called over - honestly can't remember the last time I did that, but it brought a nice whiff of nostalgia for me after years of ordering on apps. Didn't realize that Tony D's is literally right around the corner from my BFF Cloverleaf, so the location is pretty convenient if you're in the area. The parking in Caldwell can be pretty annoying, and even though I'm sure I could have rolled the dice I paid a little less than a dollar to park up the street further into a residential neighborhood. Given that Tony D's is exclusively delivery/pickup joint, I think they should pay for the spots right in front as a courtesy to their customers coming in and out; maybe they do and I missed it but if not... Anyway. The guy behind the counter was VERY nice/friendly, and even though I was a few minutes early based on the estimated ETA off my phone call, the pizza literally had just come out of the oven and was ready to rock. From that vantage point, top-notch service. The specific pie that seemed to be their go-to was the Drunken Grandma, which is usually one of my favorites (vodka sauce on pizza should be much more prevalent in my opinion) but I wasn't crazy about the chunks of tomato on it. In hindsight, would have been easy to pick off or even to request that they not be included to begin with, so that would be my recommendation based on this experience. I opted for a square plain pie, especially since I knew that a few young pups would likely be sampling the wares; seemed like an overall safe bet. Optics-wise, I thought it looked very good, and I don't regret going square here. The crust for me was probably the best part, and I made sure to strategically grab all of the corner pieces once we started eating. Nice crisp to it for sure. The overall taste of the pie just wasn't my thing. I wasn't crazy about the sauce (maybe another argument for the vodka sauce, right?) and the cheese was just okay. Tasted to me more like generic by the slice pizza, which isn't my preference. My top-tier chum liked it more than I did, so definitely could just be an issue with palate preference here but this might have suffered from inflated expectations. I'd give them another shot if a similar circumstance presented itself, but I'd go with the pie it's known for - there's a reason the Drunken Grandma is front and center in almost every review. Learn from me.
