    Mini Rice Balls

Here for an event. It's a small space but they can accommodate a small party. Loved the calamari- very tender with a light crispy coating. Pizza was good too. Didn't really like the rice balls. They lacked flavor and texture as they were served in a sauce. Didn't really like the eggplant parm- it was ok but eggplant was too thin, tasted more like breading than eggplant. Probably 3.5 stars but I rounded up due to great service.

I love Italian and couldn't wait to try! When I arrived, I parked in their driveway. I walked into a cute takeout/dine in restaurant! I sat and was served by Walter, and he was great! This place is BYOB. I ordered the Mini Rice Balls, Fra Diavolo Mussels, Chicken Marsala and salad, and Shrimp, Scallop, and arugula in pink sauce. My favorites were the mussels and the pasta dish! I also had the rice pudding for dessert, and that was delicious! All in all I had a good experience!

It took a bit of work finding Gencarelli's today, and the parking here is a bit tough, but I did make it here for lunch. Here's the good news....the slice of mushroom pizza I had was very good. It's a nice thin crust pizza. Only issue was that it could have been served hotter. There's a large dining room with a server, but if you're just getting a slice, you can eat in there as well.

Gencarelli's has been around for over 25 years so you know they must be doing something right over here and that fact remains totally obvious in every delicious bite of literary everything that comes outta this super legit old school Pizzeria Restaurant. And lately I gotta say that their one-of-a-kind thin crust style Pizza has gained all my attention and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to break its hold.    It's pretty easy to see what makes this Pizza something special even from the first glance you take of it. Pies here appear to be larger than most other places around and I think that's because they use the same amount of dough but they just expand it in order to keep that thin crispy crust texture that they're locally known for.    Toppings are also uniquely special here and certain combinations can't even be found anywhere else that I know of, which also adds to the "cravability factor" this spot maintains over my tastebuds. All ingredients are fresh and noticeably appealing with each and every tremendously tasty bite. Yup, I'm definitely hooked on this Cheesy, Saucy, yet firmly flexible thin crust style Pizza and I'll do my best to keep my composure as I wait patiently until my next visit.   I should also mention the incredible menu full of Italian inspired food that they offer here too other than what I've already covered, but since exceptional Pizza is the first thing you see upon entering it's pretty easy to overlook everything else. Come And Get Your Munch On!!

Flew in for a work trip this week and we decided to order Gencarelli's Pine Brook last minute through UberEats. I took these photos midway through the meal. Being a vegetarian, and without seeing clear labeling on their menu, I called the restaurant ahead of time to find out what was safe to order. The guy I chatted with (possibly the Manager, Walter?) was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure he got me the right info for dishes, and communicated with the cook after we ordered to avoid any mix-ups. All of the food (cheese ravioli with parmesan, garlic sauteed spinach, beet salad, plain rolls) was fresh and the quality was exceptional. Portions were large and I was able to eat on them for a couple days. The plain cheesecake was literally the best I've ever had in my life. I'm still dreaming about it and wish I could have it shipped to TX. I definitely recommend Gencarelli's Pine Brook for a delicious night out or even a relaxing night in. Can't wait for my next visit to NJ!

Consistently good food. Pizza is good. Pasta is good. Cute small little Italian restaurant in pine brook. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. We enjoy coming here and catering from here!

Hidden Gem Alert! At first glance it's a pizza joint in an unpretentious small strip; don't let that fool you. They have a beautiful intimate dining room serving delicious Italian classics. Date-worthy ambiance: a stacked-stone wall, wood accents, plenty of twinkle lights. The food was perfect for our group of 5--we shared a crispy pizza topped with vodka chicken, a large Cesar salad, chicken parm, and grilled chicken with broccoli. Delicious and satisfying. Service was quick and efficient. We will be back!

I sat at the bar because the wait for a table was long, and the service was excellent. Each of the bartenders was friendly and attentive. There is a lot of good pizza in a 20 min radius but Third Proof really stands out. I did not know until I went to write this review that they recently got a monster score from Portnoy, it was fully earned. Friendly pizza joint vibe with great pizza (and chicken parm) made with care and great service. We tried the New Haven style and a Vodka Parm. Being from the New Haven area I had a high bar they need to hit and they did. Perfect thin crispy crust with a touch of char and the right ratio of mozzarella to a delicious sauce with some salty parm to cut the sweet brightness of the tomato sauce. Bonus, it was even cut New Haven style with imperfect small to medium slice size. I don't know if they adjusted after Portnoy made his comment about the slicing style, but well done! Now for the chicky chicky parm parm.... Exceptional - What a huge surprise, delicious crispy thin chicken cutlets topped with delicious creamy vodka sauce and melted mozzarella. And they offer them in 4 different styles. Will go back very soon to try the others. If I had notes - slightly less mozz to checked ration and get a little more brown in the cheese. For a chicken parm it had such a light and flavorful feel. Often times too much sauce and gooey cheese overwhelm the chicken and at Three Proof the perfect chicken stands front and center and is well complimented by sauce and cheese.

I was told a replacement was only available for pickup, and that I would have to place and pay for a new order if I wanted another pizza delivered. When I asked for a refund, I was told I needed to contact the third-party delivery provider because Dough does not process refunds for online delivery orders. I then contacted Toast, the platform used for the order, and was told they could not issue the refund and that I needed to contact the restaurant. I called Dough again, explained the situation, and offered to send a photo. I made it clear that I was not trying to get free food. I simply wanted the correct order. After being placed on hold, I was told that the melted cheese on the pizza was the burrata and that this was how they prepare it. I am including a photo because I have never seen burrata served this way on a pizza. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled was incredibly disappointing. I was passed back and forth, offered no reasonable delivery replacement or refund, and ultimately told that the pizza was correct despite what was delivered.

I'm honestly shocked this place isn't packed wall-to-wall every night -- this is the kind of pizza you expect to find in Naples . From the second you walk in, you know they take their craft seriously. Stacks of real wood, the authentic Pavesi Italian oven, and trays of perfectly risen dough balls -- it's the real deal. No shortcuts, no gimmicks. Just craftsmanship. I ordered two pies: White Pie with Mushrooms & Olives Incredible. The crust has that perfect leopard-spotted char, blistered just right, crispy on the outside but still soft and airy inside. The ricotta and mozzarella are super fresh, the mushrooms taste like they were sliced minutes before hitting the oven, and the olives add the perfect salty punch. Every bite tasted like it was straight out of a wood-fired pizza boutique. Classic Margherita One word: unreal. The sauce is bright and fresh, the cheese melts into little pools of heaven, and the basil actually survives the oven without turning bitter. Balanced, clean, and addictive. The crust is truly the star -- you can tell they use high-quality "00" flour and slow fermentation. Light, airy, not heavy at all. The kind of crust you want to eat all of, even the charred ends. The owner Mike clearly cares about every detail -- from the dough to the toppings to the oven temperature. This isn't "pizza shop pizza," this is artisanal, handcrafted, authentic wood-fired pizza done right. Prices are super fair for this quality. Cash-only but totally worth it. If you love real Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, put this place on your list immediately. Easily one of the best pies I've had in NJ -- maybe the best. I'll definitely be back .
