Two of my most Excellent Yelp Brothers had good things to say, Capt Drew O. and Pat M. both described positive Pizza experiences here so I thought I'd add my two cents. Initially on my first visit to this old school type Pizzeria I went with a classic Mushroom Slice which had great thin crunchy texture and delicious flavor. To me the sauce and cheese mixture that they prepare here at La Pizza is super flavorful in every way possible. Next up was their old world Grandma Slice who must be working out cause she is looking good: Thin, Crispy, Beautiful and baked to perfection. Here again super flavorful Sauce combination that can be noticed in every tremendously tasty bite. Although I would've appreciated more Mozzarella than was provided but that superior crunch, Crunch, CRUNCH!! totally made up for that absence. Looks like we all can agree, Come And Get Your Munch On!! read more

Amazing! We ordered the margarita pie and it was excellent. The ingredients were fresh. What was better than the pizza was the owner and his team. He treated everybody that walked in the door like family. I had to use the restroom and I could eat off the floor. It was not fancy but, it was that clean. Too bad that we do not live around the neighborhood BUT, you betcha that we would drive out of our way to eat at this place again in the future when we come back to Jersey. It's been four years since I wrote my review for La Pizza and I'm happy to say that nothing has changed. Maybe the prices are a bit higher, but not noticeably so. The pizza is still some of the best in the area. Their Grandma Pie is really the star, but honestly, the pizza I order the most is just a plain slice. I don't know if there is higher praise for a pizza place than making a really good plain cheese pie. Having said that definitely try the Grandma Pie if you haven't. There are a lot of square Grandma Pies in the area, but the crust at La Pizza beats them all. If you're a meatball fan, those are also worth trying. I also have to give kudos to the guys that run this place. They're always in a good mood and they seem to know every customer, and they treat them like family. Just so you know I'm not getting paid for this, I will warn you that La Pizza is not the best restaurant for date night. It's a neighborhood pizza joint with formica booths left over from the 1970s (which actually adds some charm). In other words it's not a dining destination, but it is a place you can sit down and eat with a smile. read more

I recently moved to Livingston and this is the third pizza place I've tried since being here. Out of the three I tried La Pizza was my favorite and the one I'll be going to from now on. The half cheese, half pepperoni pie I ordered was fantastic. Very tasty. Exactly how you want your pizza to be. The online ordering from their website is easy and convenient. ( I don't like calling in food orders). Lastly I enjoyed the friendly service and family vibe of the place. Looking forward to ordering again soon! read more

Very disappointing, again. This is now the fourth and last time I am ordering from these guys. I try to support a local business and the fact they are pretty much up the road from us made it easier to choose them. The food is ok, nothing bad but nothing spectacular. I don't know if they use a food delivery services (I ordered off the Slice app) or their own people but the delivery end stinks. The first three times I ordered I put the notation in for the guy to come to the back of the building, they didn't. One driver just left the food at the front door and left. Being close by you would think the order to delivery time would be minimal, it isn't. As a matter of fact, today the app had the delivery time at 11:31 AM - 11:46 AM, the driver didn't show up until 12:03 PM. Now this guy did at least come to the back of the building, but the food was cold. On a cold dreary day, few things would have been better than a nice hot (warm even) slice of pizza. Instead, the pizza I got was cold, the cheese had hardened, I could have microwaved a slice of frozen pizza and been better off. As I said, very disappointed and done with them. read more

This is the type of pizza joint that we need down in Tennessee since this place is great. I stopped in here a little while ago while traveling to my family in Pennsylvania and the pizza here really hit the spot. The Sicilian slice was perfect and I could eat several of those in a row. The pepperoni was also perfect and was just the right amount of greasy deliciousness. The workers here are really nice too and the place is just great. I highly recommend this restaurant for great pizza! read more

Not easy finding a local pizza joint where the owners greet you, happy for your business and also execute a perfect pie. A perfect pie you ask? Yes, a perfect pie. I got their margarita, asked for something extra and it was all executed perfectly. $1 for a fountain soda if they like you. Just a perfect spot that deserves everything good in this world but the selfish part of me hopes the secret doesn't get out. read more

Easy part- had pizza and a meatball hero and both tasted great. The hard part- finding a place to eat that has staff as nice as these guys. If you are anywhere nearby, good people should be rewarded and I recommend you order from here or stop in to eat. No, i have no ulterior motive for such a good review. Check my other reviews and you will see I have no problem leaving a bad review. My brother lives around the block and I am here every few months, and every time they welcome me and others who walk in with genuine kindness. read more

I decided now, 3 years after my original review, to give La Pizza another shot. I have to say that I liked it much more today! I opted for a slice of white with spinach. We ordered a sausage pizza for takeout here and it was awesome. The crust was crisp and not too doughy. The sausage was really tasty. Great local pizzeria. Perfect for takeout. Service was excellent. They told me 20 minutes and when I told them my name they handed me a piping hot pie not one that had been sitting or worse made me wait. read more

ordered lasagna and chicken parm for delivery. food arrived quickly but i live 1/4 mile away. got charged a $2 delivery fee which is not posted anywhere on the menu, online or the printed one. they advertise 2-3 dollars off on order places mom-thurs. driver called owner and refused to honor it. what's worse is the chicken is shitty frozen breaded patty that food wholesale companies send. it's not even real chicken it's garbage mcdonald's type chicken substitute. look at the pic and see the cellulose bubbles. with all the time of italian restaurants in the area no need to throw away your money on this place. read more

The regular pie is good, but well short of great. The pastas are also good, but nothing special. The grandma pizza?? Probably my favorite grandma slice in the world. I'm not really sure why the grandma slices here are so much better than the regular - not that the regular is bad, it's good. But trust me and get a grandma slice to see! read more

I've ordered pizzas from here a number of times, and they were usually tasty. Last week, I ordered ziti with meatballs for lunch. It was $17, which seems insane for overcooked noodles drenched in pizza sauce, with some cheese stirred in. The 2 small meatballs were served in a separate dish, and they were not very good either. It could not have been more disappointing for the price, so I will not bring my business there again. read more

I had a margarita, cheese pizza, Sicilia Pizza, chicken finger, cannoli, and tiramisu for today. Margarita was so tasty and Sicilia Pizza was real straight from Sicilia. Chicken fingers are crispy and juicy inside. You can even stop. Lastly tiramisu was the most delicious tiramisu I ever had in Pizza shop. Please try it when you have a chance!! After receiving our entrées, a frightening incident occurred: my 15-year-old granddaughter was drinking from her glass when it suddenly shattered in her mouth. I saw it happen. Glass shards landed in her mouth and in her plate of food. We immediately brought the broken glass and plate to the staff and asked if the entrée could be remade. A woman who identified herself as the owner came over. She did not ask if my granddaughter was okay, offered no apology, and stated that they would not remake the food, even after I offered to pay for a replacement. At that point, we asked for to-go boxes and our check. The check arrived without deducting the $200 deposit, requiring me to go to the desk to have it corrected, and a refund was needed since the total did not reach the deposit amount. What was most upsetting was not the accident itself, those things happen, but the owner's complete lack of concern, empathy, and professionalism. We were treated as though we were trying to take advantage of the restaurant, despite being frequent patrons who had already paid for the meal. The wait staff has always been kind and professional, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, after this incident, we will not be returning and will be taking our business elsewhere.

Delivery would be 45-60 minutes, so I set my timer for 30 so I'd be ready to put the light on in the vestibule for the driver to see. Before I knew it, I got a call that the delivery driver, Joshua, was at the door! It wasn't even 30 minutes! He must have cooked my food on the way over! Joshua was very pleasant and the food was very hot! I ordered a large half sausage pizza with a side of fried mushrooms, which were both delicious. The pie had a nice thick crust, which is how I like it. I never eat the bottom crust, but break off the thick crust and scoop up the toppings. It was perfect! The fried mushrooms were tender with a very crispy & tasty coating. They were a nice size and there were plenty of them...even had some left over. Everything from placing the order with a very sweet lady to my last bite was great! I definitely recommend trying this eatery. FYI: There is parking in the lot behind it (same as where Stephanie's Italian restaurant is, since there is no parking allowed in front on Bloomfield Ave.).

The pizza, the chicken Parm hero, and the chicken Caesar salad were all average at best. Frankly, not much different than Domino's or Pizza Hut. I can't say anything about Cedar Grill & Pizza was bad but considering there's a pizzeria every block or so in downtown Caldwell, I think you could do better elsewhere.
