The…read moreowners, Jim & Judy, were the most gracious and generous hosts, both pouring and giving us the history of the wine and their winery. We tried 12 of approximately 18 selections. Some notables included: a '16 Vermentino, '13 Barbera, '13 "Zintastic" Zinfandel, '13 Renegade, '13 Reserve Syrah, '13 Redemption, '13 Petite Sirah, and a "Petite Sweetie" (Petite Sirah dessert wine). My wife enjoyed everything and I had high scores on eight. We ended up purchasing four bottles to add to our collection, including a '13 Tempranillo and a '14 Malbec, which were not available for tasting, but based on everything else Jim made, I'm sure we'll love. They waived the tasting fee due to our purchase of four bottles (very generous). It's an adventure to drive to this out-of-the-way property, but the views of the surrounding hills and wines are well worth it. Only slightly negative comment I have is that parking is very limited and it's a steep climb from the parking area to the tasting room. We'll definitely be adding Roadrunner Ridge to our list of regular winery stops.

Shakespeare in The Vines is hosted by Bailey's Winery! It's highly encouraged to try some of their wine assortment. My mom tried it and said it was good! They also have a cool check-in counter with a few light snacks and canned drinks. I got some Oreos and a sparkling water! The ladies at the wine and concession booths were wonderful! THE BAD: Lots of mosquitoes, as I write this I'm dealing with the aftermath of becoming their late night snack. Bring bug spray if you want to enjoy! I literally couldn't focus at times because of all the bugs. Also, some of the security or ushers were rude, I hate when people look right through me. Some people have no class or dignity...

The grounds are beautiful with many nooks for sitting, fruit trees, and of course vineyards. When you visit it's more than a wine tasting experience. I now feel like I'm a part of their family. The wine here is done with such love and hard work. Not your run of the mill Temecula Winery. Nestled in the hills of La Cresta, it was such a gorgeous Villa, with such an incredible view,. I was taken back by the wonderful couple that guided us through their process of the ancient method of aging and bottling the fruits of their labor. Not a mass production, unlike many other automated winery's. You should call and make an appointment, it would be a great day for you, as it was for us. Debbie was our guide and Kurt was our driver. When you get to the winery, Debbie provides you with a drink card. You get six taste tests (1/3rd of a glass) that is checked off by the wine stewards. The whole adventure takes about 4 hours. Overall, it was fun and a great opportunity to try different wines and see the beautiful wineries in temecula. Now, why the 4 star rating?? ~The bus featured a great sound system where we could choose songs from an ipad. But it was unbelievably warm inside. It was a hot day and the AC seemed to not be working, leaving most of us sticky. We were told to open one window at the front and at the end of the bus to let the air flow. After the first stop, most people just opened all the windows to get a breeze. One guy was close to just taking off his shirt. ~We felt that one of our stops at mount Palomar winery was rushed. Our package did include a charcuterie. And we ordered some other appetizers right when we arrived. We ended up having to cancel them since it still wasnt done and we were heading out. This also led to rushing to get the remaining sample tastes. A reciept check showed it was a 30 min visit. ~My other minor disappointment was that our guide stated they could only take photos through their phone and not our own. This past weekend we went to a wine tasting since they were shut down for better half of the last two years for Covid reasons. Great hosts and very friendly. They also have a winery dog named Cabernet. This is not your traditional winery that's open daily or even every weekend like Warner Springs Wineries. They are open at least two times per year for the semi annual pick up party. Any other time is hit or miss. They do private parties and events probably more often than they are open to the public. One of their main goals is to sell their wine to restaurants. More bulk sales oriented. The drive from Temecula Valley is approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to call ahead to make an appointment for wine tasting. The wines are still maturing and I only found one wine that I cared for and that was the Rembrandt Pinot Noir. The whites I found more palatable....I enjoyed the sauvignon blanc and the chardonnay. Cheers!
