    The Fenway Burger with fries.
    Nolan L.

My wife and I got the Fenway Burger. The veggies were fresh. Bacon was tasty. The burger needed some seasoning. Fries were homemade. Yum. Prices weren't bad either. $13 each. I recommend people. 6.9 out of 10. Oh yeah sausage was strong tried to complete with Patty. You should stop if you are in the area.

My husband ordered the maple burger that was delicious. The maple mayo was so delicious! Maple sausage was a nice addition. Would definitely order again! I had the Hawaiian Vermonter which was also delicious! The chicken breast was huge and just lightly breaded and then Vermont cheddar, grilled pineapple, maple bacon. Such a delicious combo! After we ordered a maple shake which was very tasty and unique...never have seen one before. Their flavors of ice cream was quite large. The pink peppermint stick was delicious. Service was very friendly and quick. Definitely a place we would go again if ever in the area again.

Fry Cook 101 is don't burn the fries. This was likely intentional. Either way it's sad.

Apparently, this is what passes for decent food around here but pretty much anywhere else this place would be empty. But here as long as you don't mind being bitten to death by mosquitoes or sitting on hard wooden benches it's pretty much the only burger stand around. My wife wanted shrimp and fries, when I got back to the hotel room we realized they didn't include any tartar sauce or cocktail sauce which automatically goes with any fried shrimp meal at a fast food place on earth. The shrimp, were soggy anyway since they don't know how to ventilate or cut a hole in the top of their cardboard containers for fried food. I had eaten the coleslaw -- or at least tried to -- but it basically consisted of puréed cabbage, and some sugar. The texture was slimy and it lacked any flavor or seasoning. I wouldn't be writing this review, but when I went back, although they were kind enough to offer a replacement meal, (they get two stars instead of one star because of that gesture) I am virtually certain that the cook intentionally burned the living hell out of the french fries. (Or they're entirely incompetent) I wasn't in the mood to argue so I just left, but the picture here speaks for itself.

BOOM burger and Vermont Hawaiian worth the 1 5 hour drive

So SO happy we accidentally stumbled upon this place!! The food here is AMAZING!!! If you're looking for a place and don't know where to eat- definitely get food here! We were so surprised! Don't be fooled by the way this place looks. We had the SMOKEHOUSE MAPLE ANGUS BURGER W/ HAND-CUT FRIES and the BLACK RASPBERRY SHAKE. The maple burger was delicious! Perfectly cooked and maple infused into the bacon, sausage and mayo, but still not too sweet. The black raspberry shake was creamy perfection! Super sweet customer service! Reasonable prices! Everything tasted super fresh and high quality! I would even recommend this place to my pickiest foodie friends!

Reasonably priced. Quick service. Food were decent. The poutine is more like just fries with gravy and shredded cheese. Generous portion. If you are looking for a good simple quick meal and happen to be in the area, this place is worth stopping by.

We pulled up to this place and had second thoughts. The outside looks kind of dumpy but we also know those are often the best places! Glad we took a chance and went inside. Food was great especially the French fries.

Sooooooo good. Best roadside burger joint in New England. The ice cream and desserts are fabulous, too.

Absolutely mind blown…read more I have made numerous ski trips this way and always seen this place tucked away in the corner of my eye when approaching the intersection. No cell service so couldn't look up anything prior to entering. Lovely little diner, please remember to shut the door as you enter as it doesn't close. I made my way to the counter and started really looking at everything around the place. Personally could have kept all the political stuff out but I was here for food. Liked all the books off the side as well as the dinosaur toys. The message that is placed in front of you tell a good story, and they're not wrong one bit. Enjoy the company around you. I was blown away with the size of the blueberry pancake, and I was warned. Never have I taken a pancake to go because I didn't finish it. I had some corn beef hash too so that filled me up a bit, but this thing is massive! Definitely could've taken it down in my college days. I will have to come back to try and defeat it again. Anyways, I did enjoy my corn beef hash too, very potato driven. All and all, happy I finally popped in. Don't know when the next time I'll be back, but it is now on my radar of places to stop when ready for pancakes!

We found the Hartland diner which satisfied both my vegan and my husband's non vegan palette. The diner is tiny and unique. The booths were packed a little before noon already so we sat at the stools at the counter. The decor is eclectic with a strong liberal edge. For example I sat next to a cardboard cut out of Bernie Sanders with a VOTE necklace adorning the neck of the cutout. The menu is thick with the first have offering meat and dairy options and the later half providing the same options just in vegan form. There are A LOT of options! And the portions are GENEROUS! I had the cornbread which I would have again and again. It was so satisfying and filled with real corn kernels to provide a real corn taste. I then had a breakfast burrito with tofu scramble, avocado and hash browns. The burrito was heavy handed with hash browns but it was a simple fix as I just removed what I didn't want. The burrito was filling and delicious. I also liked the coffee ( they only have whole or oat milk). My husband had one pancake which was gigantic! It was hanging off the plate! The maple syrup was light and not too sweet. He also had a breakfast taco with bacon, eggs and hash (which was again loaded with extra hash he had to remove). This was another filling dish. Overall the Homeland diner was a home run. From decor to food you will be delighted, amused, and quite satisfied! And if you like broadway show tunes you are in for a treat...

All their pancakes are amazing, even though with my sodium issue I only get a taste of my husband's. My ole favorites were Pumpkin and their classic Sugar & Spice with the perfect amount of sweetness and spice mix. I wish they would serve saltless grits! That would make this girl happy! I only eat a couple of the potatoes, they are very tasty however salt is used or the rest of you wouldn't be eating them....am I right! Of course, my eggs were cooked perfectly! I keep forgetting you have ice cream! They also have many local theme items for sale and don't forget to not head home with Vermont's local Maple Syrup! We finally decided to try out S&S and I found it good, but not worth the 5 stars everyone gives it pancakes = well cooked, round, pretty standard. don't get 4 pancakes unless you want be in a pancake induced coma. also, they put a literal small ice cream scoop size of butter on the pancakes. Only IHOP does that and it's way too much butter. If you are eating all of that butter, you might need an extra dose of lipitor. Toast = kind of boring S&S pancakes = kind of tasted like pancakes with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Home fries = those were good I was there with two 16-year olds who both thought the food was "mid". I did see a small girl sitting with plate in front of her that had a waffle with ice cream and whipped cream piled so high, that it was almost as tall as her. Her eyes were huge and she was trying to figure out where to start. That waffle looked pretty good and as I passed the table, her dad was leaning in to "help out and keep the plate clean". They sell a lot of baseball hats and t-shirts.
