    Entrance - so cute!!

Had a fantastic experience eating in this historic Worcester Lunch Car No. 835 - one of the last ones to be made!! The diner is clean, food is delicious, and staff warm up quick and are fun to chat to!! But the homemade pie - omg the pie!! I had a huge piece of their cherry pie and it was TO. DIE. FOR!!! Passed by on my way to another town but the sign outside is what caught my eye saying "SUPPORT LOCAL" so you know I had to turn around!! And it was time to eat anyway. I went the whole nine yards for my experience and sat at the counter, bantering with the staff while watching them prepare food - was such a fun lunch!! I ordered their Fish Sandwich lunch special and a cup of chowda- all excellent! The bread on the sandwich was soft and so flavorful with a decent piece of fried fish - perfect ratio of breading to fish. That cherry pie was incredible - homemade with a soft, flaky crust - and the cherry filling was silky and had a perfect tart sweetness!! Topped with some whip cream - it was heaven! Took me 2 days to eat it all lol! The dining car is very cozy and retro fun! There is counter seating as well as booths. And the counter seating overlooks the grill and kitchen so you have built in entertainment! Parking is street parking in a charming little town - great for walking off your food. Will definitely be back next time I'm out that way! Thanks for an awesome lunch!

Was just passing through on my way to Mt. Ascutney. Real diner! Great food, hot coffee, and good prices. Staff can be a little moody, but that is fine by me! The train car is a "must see".

Stopped in here this morning. I love the classic old school diner feel. This place was from 1952, and it lived up to it. We sat at the bar area, the waitress was friendly and we got to watch the other employee cook the food. It was 2 woman show. But they did amazing. I went with the eggs Benedict. I never really ordered it before so had to try it here. It was delicious, the home fries were really good too with some ketchup. Definitely stop by if you wanna have some breakfast.

The Windsor Diner is what you'd expect from a traditional diner. The service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is very traditional. I believe the diner car was built in the 1950s. The portion size is very good. It's always nice to be able to watch your food be cooked in front of you. Always ask if they have their homemade bread when you're they're. It's delicious. I've been here several times and I will continue to go as long as I live in the area. Don't forget to take your coffee to go.

Decent diner food. Great old time diner atmosphere. Experience the personal interaction with staff. Ask for Shelly a waitress with attitude in a friendly sarcastic fashion. Food was good I had a late breakfast with the home made hash. My wife had the pepper burger and fresh cut fries. Reasonable prices and good service. No extra charge for Shelly's advice. LOL

I love this diner! It has become a home away from home visiting my mom at the nearby Mtn. ASCUTNEY Rehabilitation center. The food is classic and tasty. With many fresh homemade and local option! You certainly can't beat the prices either! The waitresses are so incredibly fun, lighthearted, funny and helpful which makes having one of my meals here daily these past few weeks a true uplifting joy. The town of Windsor has free WI-FI and great cell service so this comforting colorful warm friendly place has become my temporary east coast office landing pad!

Everything was perfect. A blast from the past, with everything expected in an old dining car.

Upon arrival, the hostess said they did not have any tables or reservations. She was super accommodating and was able to move some things around. We had to wait about 30 minutes but we were patient since she was willing to work with us and we really wanted to eat here! The server was fantastic and provided water and bread. My brother had a lemonade. We started with an order of calamari. I then had the chicken parm while my brother had the ribs. He swears it was the best he ever had. I got a piece of carrot cake to go and ate it when I got back to our hotel. Everything was fresh and delicious. We even got a surprise as a train passed and shook the whole dining room. It was a great experience overall!

We didn't have a reservation and the wait was going to be 90 minutes long... Luckily we were able to find seats in the bar! Bartender Marty was great and got our orders in right away. We were happy to listened to him that the half portion is a good size for 1 person. Between the 4 of us, we ordered steamed mussels, half speghetti and meatballs, half chicken ala vodka, and grilled salmon. Before dinner, we were served with warm bread with maple butter - that was sooo good. All the dishes were solid, but our fav was the homemade strawberry apple crisp. They hit it out of the park, delicious!! Even with the half orders, we still had leftovers of the speghetti to take home. Reasonably priced, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely mind blown…read more I have made numerous ski trips this way and always seen this place tucked away in the corner of my eye when approaching the intersection. No cell service so couldn't look up anything prior to entering. Lovely little diner, please remember to shut the door as you enter as it doesn't close. I made my way to the counter and started really looking at everything around the place. Personally could have kept all the political stuff out but I was here for food. Liked all the books off the side as well as the dinosaur toys. The message that is placed in front of you tell a good story, and they're not wrong one bit. Enjoy the company around you. I was blown away with the size of the blueberry pancake, and I was warned. Never have I taken a pancake to go because I didn't finish it. I had some corn beef hash too so that filled me up a bit, but this thing is massive! Definitely could've taken it down in my college days. I will have to come back to try and defeat it again. Anyways, I did enjoy my corn beef hash too, very potato driven. All and all, happy I finally popped in. Don't know when the next time I'll be back, but it is now on my radar of places to stop when ready for pancakes!

The diner is very small inside and decorated with political extremism. I thought the set up was funny, unique, and provided great conversation topics. However, the food is what made me dislike the diner. First off, the waitress dipped her hand in the coffee and didn't replace it with a new one. Was given attitude after asking for a new coffee. Then after that, the coffee ended up being the worst tasting diner coffee I've ever had (it was $6 as well!!!). I ordered the world domination breakfast and was disappointed. The only good part of the experience were the pancakes, which were very delicious. Didn't finish the other food outside of the pancakes. Was very surprised after reading the reviews.

You would never expect such a amazing restaurant to be located inside a hotel... But it is!…read more We stayed at the Holiday Inn Club Vacation Mt. Ascutney for a week and decided to have a low-key night and have dinner at the onsite restaurant, The Maple Kitchen. It was a slow Sunday night and no reservations needed. The restaurant only had the bar tender manning the bar and the tables. He was very nice but the wait was long... luckily we were in vacation mode so we didn't mind the wait. While we were waiting for the food, we were enjoying the Moscow Mule made by the bartender. He poured all his drinks to the rim, it was great! They only had 2 things on tap: Switchback ale and Harpoon hard cider, but they were solid brews. It took about 45 minutes before our entrees were served and we started to think this may be a mistake. Boy were we wrong in the best way. The lobster bisque dip came with 2 rolls of warm bread already buttered on the outside...soft center with the creamy dip spread over it was so scrumptious. The lamb chop was cooked to perfection and had a orzo chickpea side that can be a main dish in itself. The duck was cooked with crispy skin on, very tender and also came with a delicious rice pilaf. We also had the half chicken breast dish which was perfectly seasoned, juicy! Came with a mushroom and spinach stir fry and mashed potatoes was more like creamy scalloped potato. We were completely stuffed but wanted to try a dessert because the food was just amazing. We shared a raspberry white chocolate cheesecake that did not make it in my photo because we finished it so quickly. Definitely come here, you will not be disappointed.

The short ribs, were a little on tough side, and lacked flavor, the portion size more consistent with a small plate menu than entree.
