Delish, locally sourced ingredients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A safe, cozy space in this crazy world.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner/cook could be heard singing in the kitchen which we loved.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was a bit grumpy an frazzled but everyone has those days! I hope hers got better we will be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service, great vibes, and most importantly -- great food![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since I moved to the area, it's become my favorite breakfast spot. The pancakes (not pictured) are delicious, too.

Very high quality food at a higher than average price for diner food. They are paying their staff a living wage. It's obvious a lot of care goes into their product. Great diner vibe, we loved the musical posters and teal diner booths. Worth every penny and we can't wait to go back.

I stopped at The Hartland Diner with my fiancé and her family during a small trip to Vermont. We happened to be driving and noticed this unassuming diner - so glad we did! The restaurant is small but full of charm and personality. The staff makes you feel right at home and even let you play with their collection of dinosaur toys at your table! I had the Irish eggs Benny, which were delicious. My fiancé had the pancake sandwich and really enjoyed it. If you're ever in the area, a stop at The Hartland Diner is a must!

Split a breakfast sandwich, omelet and French toast. All were fresh, flavorful and the sandwich in particular was a work of art. The dining space is small but friendly, with a strong community vibe and very welcoming to new people. The staff were a delight and clearly enjoy their jobs.

Cozy dinner near the Killington ski resort. It's tucked away in a town, and seemed filled mostly with locals. It's well-decorated and feels home-y. Slider ($11) - a bit smaller than I expected since their other pancakes are ginormous. But a filling breakfast nonetheless. Came with an egg and sausage sandwiched between two pancakes. Tasted good, but nothing special. I thought the food was good, but my friend didn't like his steak hash. Can substitute oil to be olive oil for an extra $2, which seems like a lot lol.

You can't beat the breakfasts here! I suggest the "get-er done." Only thing I can say negative is the coffee isn't the best.

A table for six is right inside the door. Tables of two and four seats take up the rest of the space and it's decorated in a variety of newspaper articles, signs and other miscellany. They have a small parking lot next to the building. The spots are tight so be prepared to squeeze into and out of your vehicle. There are several steps up into the restaurant from the sidewalk. They offer breakfast all day so we both got what we wanted. I ordered eggs cooked my way and got their home made bread for a small up charge. The bread was a thick slice of tasty white that I enjoyed. They offer egg plates with a variety of items including meats and potatoes. The hamburger my dining companion ordered was a big portion with lots of fresh toppings cooked to the temperature he requested. Our waitress was very nice. She kept an eye on us, was efficient and pleasant. My coffee was good and came with those little single serve creamers. Nice little breakfast and lunch spot.

I first heard of Country Girl after watching Chronicle approx. 2 year ago. The whole experience was awesome! We ordered drinks immediately after taking our seats at the counter. I had a pepsi and I had to order a vanilla milk shake to go! My wife had water and coffee. We wanted to get our order in because we felt like the staff was nice enough to let us in that we didn't want to stall them from getting out at closing. My wife had grilled cheese with tomato soup. I had a burger with fries. My wife was thrilled with the soup. She said it was the best tomato soup she has had in a long time! My fries were excellent. home made and tasty! You can see in the pictures that the diner is set up with booths and a counter top. I am told that they are busy year round. I can see why because the food and service is fabulous. I had an omelet off of the Specials menu with Pineapple, ham and mozzarella...Basically a Hawaiian Pizza but in an omelet. Very good, if you like Hawaiian Pizza. The home fries didn't have much color to them but we're actually cooked through and tasted good With a nice texture. The only draw back was our server, while efficient, had like in the way of people skills. Every interaction was as short as possible. Not bad, just not good. We finally decided to try out S&S and I found it good, but not worth the 5 stars everyone gives it pancakes = well cooked, round, pretty standard. don't get 4 pancakes unless you want be in a pancake induced coma. also, they put a literal small ice cream scoop size of butter on the pancakes. Only IHOP does that and it's way too much butter. If you are eating all of that butter, you might need an extra dose of lipitor. Toast = kind of boring S&S pancakes = kind of tasted like pancakes with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Home fries = those were good I was there with two 16-year olds who both thought the food was "mid". I did see a small girl sitting with plate in front of her that had a waffle with ice cream and whipped cream piled so high, that it was almost as tall as her. Her eyes were huge and she was trying to figure out where to start. That waffle looked pretty good and as I passed the table, her dad was leaning in to "help out and keep the plate clean". They sell a lot of baseball hats and t-shirts.
