I just love it. My heart is full. It's been over 10yrs, 2 hip replacements and learning to walk again that I'm now back in the dance studio where my love is! I started my private American Smooth class with professional Jonathon. He's very patient, kind and experienced. I'm starting all over again and relearning technique and posture. My daughter convinced me and my wife to just take 1 dance class. Me and the wife had thought of taking dance class but never seem to get to it so we agreed. I started dancing here in September of '19 and had only ever taken 2 or 3 Salsa dance classes prior - none of the others. The staff was friendly & patient during group and private lessons. We chose to focus on American Tango in our private lessons but joined group lessons on Waltz, Swing (2 different kinds) Argentine Tango, Jazz, Country 2-step, Hip Hop, Foxtrot, Samba and a couple of others I just can't remember right now. The other dancers that studied there were also fun to be around, which made it real easy to keep coming back. It was like this great new community we had joined and I never felt "judged" there. After awhile it became easier and easier to follow along and I feel I gained some competence. Don't get me wrong; 3-5 hours of dancing each week for 6 months did not make me a professional... but I felt great about what I was learning. I am looking forward to the school opening again after they ease up on social distancing so I can continue! But there's no mention of how much of a class it will (or will not) cover. So I think, OK, let's go to the website and get more info. I go to the website, and when I click on "Dance Lessons" it doesn't give any information about the dance lessons or go anywhere except scroll slightly down the page. When I click on "Events & Activities", it goes to a section where it asks, "Want to learn more or see what's next?" and says to "check out our calendar and some of our upcoming events". OK, but there's only a link to a PDF of their June 2019 calendar. What? How am I supposed to find out when classes are and how much they are? Hopefully they get their act together and update their website and Yelp page to actually function properly. read more

I went to their East Coast Swing dance with a friend today and it was super fun! My first private and group dance lesson here was couple of weeks ago and it went well. The instructors ( Jonathan, Armando and Martin) are very knowledgeable, personable, and make learning to dance pretty fun. The atmosphere is warm and friendly as well. They have everything from Salsa, Country Two Step, Belly dancing to East Coast Swing. They also have weekly practice dance parties, beginner classes everyday, regional and national dances etc. You don't need a partner to attend. The instructors take a personal interest and work to understand what your goals are so they can customize your schedule. If you are like me and feel a little shy about maybe looking silly while dancing because you have absolutely no Rhythm, then let me assure you that the instructors here will make you feel super comfortable and give you that little extra push of confidence to make you not only get the hang of it but have soooooo much fun doing so! Martin is the owner and introduced himself to me the first day and I just got this very relaxed vibe. Your first lesson is to teach you some basics and just meet them and get a feel for the studio is extremely discounted and then they recommend a private lesson. At first I thought hmmm private lesson idk if I'm THAT serious about dance.... but trust me it's not that intimidating. I wasn't doing full routines off the bat (but if that's what your into Iv seen them do it!). Iv done lessons with Kristin and Armando and left the studio smiling and and feeling good about myself each time. All the instructors including Jonathan and Marta are great I love taking Marta's Latin dances class. Then your welcome to go to any of the group social classes for the month which are all FREE after your lesson. In the group classes you switch off partners dancing with other people. I was a little scared of this at first because I wasn't sure how my husband would feel about me dancing with others but it's not like that AT ALL. It's super fun I bring my daughter and we both love the group classes. It's more for practice and to get you familiar dancing with other people who are in your same boat of experience instead of dancing with an expert instructor each time. If you have a little one like me I also HIGHLY recommend the kids class (my personal favorite) taught by the lovely miss Kristin and her little helper Killian. It's basically fun Disney music tide in with basic fundamental dance moves like kicks or clapping along to the beat. but if your little one isn't ready to follow yet and just has fun jumping up and down to the music then your still going to love coming to this class and eventually they'll catch on. read more

My mom started coming here for dancing and she fell in love. She started coming every day, and asked if I would like to see what it was. So my son and I came in with her and to my surprise my son fell in love too. He's 8, and there were other kids his age as well. The owner Martin is super nice, and you can tell how passionate he is about dancing. All of the other dancers that work there are also very nice and super helpful. As we were planning for our big day in October 2015, my now-husband and I decided to add a dance routine to spice things up, you know, because we gays can't just settle for a wedding, we want a full-on production. As I called around and did some research, I found this Fred Astaire Dance Studio to be one of the most welcoming to same gender couples. Everyone is so warm and fuzzy here - they all give hugs. We came to this studio with basically no ballroom dance experience and wanted a "Dancing With The Stars" first dance. Nikki Wicker was our main instructor/choreographer and bless her heart because we were such divas to work with. We wanted a sexy/sassy Argentine Tango/Hip-hop-ish routine to an R&B song. At first I wasn't sure how this was going to pan out, but thanks to the creativity and patience of both Nikki and Martin, our wish came true. Nikki even edited our song for us. We had such an amazing time with our first dance and even had our wedding guests roaring! **booty shake curtsy** The most helpful thing perhaps, was that we were provided multiple opportunities to perform our routine in front of audiences at the studio before wedding day. It definitely helped us get the jitterbugs out way in advance and dance confidently at our wedding. All-in-all, it took us eight private lessons for a three minute routine, a lot of bickering between me and my husband, one or two bruises, a bucket full of laughs, and a lot of dedication. Honestly, I think the prices are great. Definitely money well spent. We enjoy taking the group classes with the entire LV Fred Astaire staff and are looking forward to more lessons! I have always wanted to ballroom dance, especially Salsa and Tango. I came to this studio basically as a beginner. They have taught me most of the basic dance types and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I have done both private classes, with Marta, and group classes, which involve all of the instructors. Marta is amazing. She was a competitive award-winning dancer from Spain. I have taken many private salsa classes from her. She explains things very well, is very detail oriented, and fun to work with. I have also worked with Martin, Armando, Jonathan, Kristen, and Melissa. They are all very talented dancers, teach well, and fun to work with. The studio appears very new and is always very clean.
