We went to Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Warwick to prepare for our wedding in January and it was a great experience! We just wanted to feel more comfortable on the dance floor and after ~5 weeks we were doing spins, lifts, and dips! Emily, Brendan, Roger, and Jackie were familiar faces at the studio that were always friendly and made us feel more comfortable. Arismel was our main instructor and she was INCREDIBLE. Charismatic, energetic, and extremely knowledgable. We felt more confident after every class with her and she gave us so much useful advice that helped us feel more prepared for our first dance! (Things like music timing, how to dance in your dress, how to orient to different dance floors.) Our guests loved it! We definitely have a new hobby coming here even after the wedding and would recommend the Warwick Fred Astaire Dance Studio for a fun date night or to anyone wanting to meet friendly people! read more

My father and I recently used Fred Astaire Dance Studio to take lessons for our father-daughter dance at my wedding. Paige was our teacher and could not have been more fun or easier to work with! My father and I had never had dance lessons before and Paige was able to choreograph a dance to the song we wanted and taught it to us within a month. Each lesson was so much fun and Paige made everything easy to follow. The entire Fred Astaire community was so supportive of us and welcomed us as if we had been dancing there for years. My father and I absolutely loved how our dance turned out and our guests were so impressed. I would highly recommend Fred Astaire for dance lessons of any kind! I've loved my experience with Fred Astaire! They really are the friendliest dance studio in town! All of the instructors are all acclaimed professional dancers who have preformed on television and international competitions - AND - they are also incredibly patient and skilled instructors. I was amazed by how quickly our beautiful and talented instructor, Rusina, taught us our first routine!! Rusina has a great sense of humor, she is very professional and experienced, and she is such a sweetheart. Her confidence and poise reminds me a bit of Jennifer Lawrence - approachable yet sassy and funny!! On top of her great personality, Rusina has exceptional teaching skill. When I dance under her guidance, I feel empowered, as if I had been a dancer all my life (which is not the case!) She is warm and unassuming, and her advice comes in the form of gentle and clear instruction that is easy to follow and leads to quick improvements. Originally, my fiancé and I came to Fred Astaire to learn the rumba for our first dance, and after two lessons, we were hooked! When you dance, you grow such a strong connection with your partner, and it has become an integral component of our relationship. It certainly helps that the instructors make me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I feel like no one is watching (even though we have a coach guiding us every step of the way!!) I really liked this spot. My best friend bought a groupon dance lesson for myself and my fiance for our wedding dance. Our teacher is really active, and definitely made us feel much less shy after just a moments. The dance studio was very spacious, with tall ceilings and just minutes away from the Warwick Mall, and more importantly, Trader Joe's. I don't know if I like the large windows that allow people to watch us dance, but the establishment is not located near any pedestrian walkways. So the only people who'll notice us dancing are likely the next group of dancers. Since I haven't started paying for the official lessons yet, I'll have to write an update in a month to see how much my wallet will bleed to not look like a fool for our wedding. I called this dance studio because my daughter is getting married will need lessons for the bride and groom's First Dance. The problem is that I live in CA, and my daughter is currently living on the East Coast . She is a very, very busy young woman. So I thought I'd do some research for her on dance schools I found this one online and at first was not impressed with the name Fred Astaire, because it sounded so commercial. When I first called them though they were closed ( Duh! In RI it's 3 hours later than in CA!) Emily from the studio called me back promptly the next time they were open and was friendly, very helpful and answered all my questions . She even offered a special price on a Package of one private lesson, one group lesson and one Friday practice party . She said it expired in December 31, but offered to keep it open for my daughter and her fiancé until the week after New Year's Day! read more

We are taking dance lessons to prepare for our "first dance" and found our new hobby here! Juliet (our instructor) and Rogelio are skilled instructors and very fun to work with. They will help you learn various dance styles and tailor your lessons to your goals. This is by far the most fun part of wedding planning! I started taking dance lesson in preparation for a wedding I will be attending this Fall. Little did I know how many wonderful people I would meet by taking that first step with an intro class. I first met Rogelio Garcia in that introductory class who taught us dancing is as simple as walking. He put everyone at ease and had us dancing in no time. I had my first beginner class with Martin Nikolov another great teacher who walked us thorough some basic dance steps. I had a great time in both classes and moved on to my private lessons. There I met the amazing Juliet Garcia who had me at hello. She has a wonderful infectious personality and a true love of both dancing and teaching. I learn and grow with each class I take at Fred Astaire. Not only are the teachers great the other students make this studio a great place to learn. The students above my level know my challenges and are there with encouragement and advice. The newer students are great because it helps me to see how far I have come and I can offer them encouragement. If you want to learn to dance and have fun this is the place to be.
