Dr Egelston and his staff are great. I went there because I was following my my hygienist, Mary Kay Cirimele. I ended up needing some work done and was very happy. The office I came from was very modern and new. While I can't say the same for this office, I can say that they appear to spend on the things that count like the machinery and instrumentation. I have struggled with Dentist appointments my whole life. What starts out as a minor checkup always turns into something major so I absolutely hate going! That being said I have never been to a Dentists office where I have been made to feel so at ease and comfortable! Nothing is too much trouble. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable and just so nice! They talk you thorough everything from start to finish! I would highly recommend Dr Egelston and his absolutely amazing team! I started seeing Dr. Egelston about a year ago. Last month, I developed a painful toothache on a Friday night. I called Dr. Egelston's office at 8:00am on Saturday morning to inquire about assistance. Their message stated to call a second number if I was having an emergency, which I did. To my surprise, Dr. Egelston answered the phone! He agreed to meet me at 10:00 and determined I needed to see a specialist. They called the specialist, set up an appointment with them and had me drive directly to the specialist's office. My issue was addressed and I was back home feeling much better by noon. The doctor could not have been more helpful, professional and friendly. I would recommend anyone to visit Dr Egelston for their dental needs. read more

He is the best! He's incredibly friendly and there are cool posters on the ceiling so you're not awkwardly staring into the light above you. I came in with a cracked tooth(from eating bread of all things ). He fixed it up and sent me on my way. Over six years later, I still haven't had any issues with the crown. I have been a paitent of Dr. Egleston's for about 3 years. He and his staff are wonderful. Here's what I look for in a dentist, and he scores 5 stars in all areas: 1) Is technically good at his/her craft. 2) Takes my Delta Dental Insurance 3) Dentist does not try to get me to pay for dental work I don't want to have done. 4) Good hygienist ( because I spend more time with hygienist than doctor). 5) Friendly staff. This review is long overdue. I've been seeing Dr. Egelston and Karen since I was 4 years old and I'm now 30. They still see my whole family to this day in fact. They are both so caring and attentive and make sure you're as comfortable as possible. We always have great conversations and lots of laughs. They give expert care and are gentle when I have to get bad news (due to my fault of course, not theirs). I always get great advice and everything is explained in good detail to me so that I feel at this point I know a fair amount about dentistry for a layman... They're flexible and understanding with bills and can offer a payment plan. When I had a different insurance for a couple years, I never even found a new dentist because I didn't want to go to someone else and so I just kept putting it off, until I got in-network insurance again and returned to them. That was by far the longest I've ever gone without going to the dentist because I have no problem seeing Dr. Egelston every six months, it's the most pleasant experience you can have as far as dentists go, which is saying a lot with how much people usually fear and dread it. Thanks to Dr. Egelston, I've never had that fear or dread. read more

Dr Egelston has been my dentist for years and years. I would say decades, but that makes me feel old. Wow... see... now I feel old. But back to the point at hand. While Dr. Egelston is not in my insurance providers network I chose to pay a little more out of pocket to continue to see him, he's that good. When I walk into the office it's like I am visiting a bunch of friends that I haven't seen in 6 months. The whole staff is awesome but I am particularly a fan of Karen, one of the dental hygienists and Dr. Egelston himself of course. They are both extremely gentle and try their hardest not to hurt you, and they do a great job. I've also recommended him to friends, including one that doesn't have any dental insurance at all. Dr. Egelston was very conscious to not do anything that wasn't necessary for my friend to keep his costs down. read more

Dr. Egelston is a wonderful dentist. My family has been going to him for years. I have always had a fear of going to the dentist, but he is such a kind and gentle dentist that he is able to ease some of my fear. He takes his time explaining things and showing you the proper way to clean your teeth and will always answer any questions that you have. Dr. Egelston is not only an excellent dentist, but a really good person. I had some very expensive dental work done (most of which our insurance did not cover) approximately two years ago. When I had this work done, I was employed and my husband's business was doing very well. Since then, I became unemployed and my husband (who is self employed) lost his best client due to a move to another area. Because of this, our income went down approximately 50%. We were able to make reasonable payments and then could only pay a very small portion every month. After a few months, they began charging finance charges (which is a very common practice). When we explained our financial situation to the front office,(very awesome staff by the way) they were extremely sympathetic and understanding of our situation. All they requested of us was to make any kind of payment per month. Dr. Egelston and staff not only provide excellent service, but they are very good people. I can't recommend them enough! read more

It's not the best location unless you live in Almaden, which I do not. But I will make the 30- minute drive, no problem. - The staff is super friendly. I have been going to Dr, Fred for about 3 years, awesome Dentist, Staff and Office. Recently I had a horrible tooth ache on a late Friday night. Called Dr. Fred's office Saturday morning, of course no one was there, but on the message machine are his home and cell numbers. i called his cell at 8am ( i was hurting and up all night). I have been going to Dr. Egelston for over 10 years. Before that I was frustrated because I had seen dentist after dentist without feeling trust in them (many of the previous dentists I saw would fear monger me, and try hard to sell expensive unnecessary procedures). I remember visiting 3 dentists within one month and being disappointed by all of them before finally being referred to Dr. Egelston through a family friend. With Dr. Egelston, I don't feel any pressure to have any procedure done. I've never felt a sales pitch from him. He's the type of dentist patients can talk to without hesitation or fear of judgment. He's very easy to talk to. It's so relaxing at his office. None of his procedures have ever resulted in any complications or needed later fixing over the 10+ years I have been going to him. Dr. Egelston is also very knowledgeable and skillful. When he's using his instruments on my teeth I can sense that he has total control of the instruments (I've had a dentist work on me in the past with horrible control. It's a nightmare. I just wanted to walk out.). His commentary makes sense. That's important to me because with my past dentists I'd frequently cringe and feel weary because they would make inconsistent statements with total confidence and expect me to trust them just because of their professional title. Fantastic dentist. Took my 4 year there to get a third "second opinion". I was told my kid needed three root canals by the first dentist, (popular Los Gatos pediatric dentist). Fred closely examined the x-rays, told me what he saw, then did a very comprehensive examination of my son. My kid was always comfortable and felt right at home. He also got some great gifts at the end. He (and I) were very happy. Could not ask for a more perfect dentist. Simple. To the point. No pushy sales. No unnecessary work. It's a little bit of a drive from Los Gatos/Monte Sereno but the best thing about it is that you get away from the "over-charging" that is common in this area, and you just get some good old honest family dentist work.
