June 12, between 6pm and 6:30 Pm. between 6 PM and 6:25 PM Safeway parking lot, i pick up my online order at section 2 and I witnessed Zachary almost get hit by a car while delivering the online order. Yes, he was wearing his neon green vest, neon, green vest and yes, he looked both ways before crossing, and I still witnessed a red Ford possibly almost hitting him and I strongly believe there should be cameras outside just for safety precautions in case he does get hit. because in the long run if he gets hit and he is wearing his best, I really do hope so you guys take Zachary's side and not the clients side when they hit him with the car because he did everything correct for crossing the street and that car still almost hit him. i want him to be safe. and also all the other drive up workers. read more

I have definitely shopped at worse Safeway locations. Produce was pretty ok and the store is not horrific in its organization. Safeway does get some decent sales and they are pretty well stocked which is nice. Thankfully they give out reusable plastic bags since their paper ones are terrible and fall apart immediately when you try to use them. Thankfully they do have motorized carts that were charged, not awkward to find and worked well. I definitely appreciate that. read more

I knew once they added the self-checkout I'd never get good service again. For the 3rd time, only 1 cashier was available and the self checkout area was full. I performed self checkout and was fuming again. If the customer does their own checkout, one would assume they would be getting a discount for doing the labor of an employee. I am done with Safeway. I'll find a grocer who can do the labor. read more

Found packs of bacon that was not sealed. The color was brown and the package was not sealed tight. They put it out for sale with packages that were sealed. That is not safe for people health. But if you do t wear a mask they are all over you! Won't go back to Safeway ever. Will take my money somewhere else. read more

Just don't really understand why people shop at Safeway. It's expensive, difficult to find what you're looking for, and they don't seem to carry many of the items on my list. This location was no different. Store is large and clean, but I only came here in a pinch and wouldn't use it as my normal grocery store. read more

What is up with the store? They never have anything I need. Literally, about 75% of the common things on my list, they are usually out of. I usually come through here on Friday afternoons, which is a big shopping time for a lot of people. It usually looks like stores that get hit right before a snow forecast when shelves get cleared out. It seems like the store is an afterthought, as far as Safeway corporate goes. Also, most shoppers here totally ignore the mask mandates. The employees don't say a word. Nice employees otherwise though. read more

This is more of the old school type of Safeway I am used to. I have gotten spoiled by the fancy schmancy type of Safeway in the Tri-Valley. Prices here are so much better on some things than CA, but some produce is more. We stopped in on our way home from shopping for milk and ice cream that the MIL loves and can only be found here. It happened to be a BOGO so she was pleased. Customer service was fine-nothing special. Glad to know I can get my Lucerne and Select items when I need them! read more

I can't put my finger on why I don't like the Canby store very much--maybe the dated interior; perhaps the creepy marketing of reading my name and intoning,"Thank you Mrs. Flora." Worst customer service ever. So I go to get advertised value pack of sirloin steak, they have none, butcher gone , 6 pm at night. It was Tuesday last day of the ad. When asked at customer service, they did not offer to let me buy several packages to make a value pack, which is usually 3 lbs. They just said we are out, and with the covic they don't give rain checks. This is not the 1st time I have had issues here. Fred meyers is almost just as bad in Canby. Apparently there is no customer service in grocery stores here, seems I am always at customer service. read more

I should have known better. Hungry,wife out of town and didn't want cook. Went to canby to get Mexican takeout but the line was to long. What next safeway deli for Chinese takeout. Tried the one in lake oswego and it was okay. Big mistake the mongolian beef seemed to be made with rubber bands and the kung pao chicken had the texture of chalk but chalk taste better. Terrible flavor and threw out all that remained which was about 80%. Should have gone to the Thai restaurant next to safeway which is always great. read more

It's a grocery store that sells food. I don't shop here but was in town and needed some GROCERIES! They provided that. We mainly shop at Safeway to get discounts at the gas pump. Can't say anything negative or positive. They did their job and that makes me happy read more

What I don't like about Safeway stores in general is the way they list prices in their newspaper ads. Most say that you can save "Up To" x-$, if you buy a 2nd at half-price, but they don't actually tell you what the sale price is. We went to check out a special on bakery goods, & once there, decided that the special wasn't very special. read more

Okay for basic grocery store. Sometimes you can find a great deal but most of the time it's not much better on price than other local options. Staff are friendly but no one who works there eats the specialty produce so don't bother asking for tips on picking a great Pomelo or Kumquat. They usually have a good selection of the advertised produce but often run out of non-advertised produce. read more

So we moved last year from Sherwood to Canby. I always shopped at Safeway in Sherwood, as it has a great selection and is really nice. I have tried all the local stores in Canby. My preference is Safeway. They don't have the biggest selection, but they make up for it with the staff! Ricky, the Bakery Manager goes out of his way every time I am in the store to say hello. My husband recently had an issue here, and when I let them know, the store manager personally apologized and gave me a gift card. He didn't need to do that, but the gesture was appreciated. The store could use a better selection and some updating, but the people are fantastic! read more
