This is my favorite grocery store in town. Be sure you get the free loyalty card and then you can save big time. Great selection of meat, produce and household needs. Fantastic pharmacy. Best Starbucks in town. The drinks are industry standard and well made, especially the iced green tea. Do the digital coupons as well. Forgot to mention that. I save between $5 and $12 on most of my grocery trips. Plus they mail me paper coupons to use as well. The store just feels cozy and fun. read more

I've always loved shopping at Fred Meyer but today the manager was rude to my girlfriend so was there clerk claiming that my girlfriend had altered her ID. Up until this point my girlfriend has gone into Fred Meyers at least three times a week to shop and has never had an issue. My girlfriend is 24 years old has a state issued ID and the sales associate and Manager were rude and not only were they rude the manager threatened to go into her work and give her problems over an ID that's not altered. You guys should get your stuff together and you should also train your associates and managers to treat people properly and not threaten to go into their work and cause problems over one of your false allegations of a altered ID. read more

This review is regarding their sushi from the Bakery/Deli... I normally eat sushi from The Fisherman's market. The Fisherman's Market (TFM) is dedicated solely to serving fish-related food (best known for their Sushi). As such, I came to believe that TFM was the #1 place to get Sushi, as that is their specialty. TFM has been my "base-line" for comparing Sushi. Today I ordered a *large* platter of Sushi from Fred Meyer. I called in and placed my order, and skeptically asked if it would be possible to have the order ready within an hours. The person who makes the Sushi rolls said they would try to get it done within an hour, but more likely would be two hours. To my amazement, they called me back *within* the hour saying the order was ready to be picked up. The Sushi chef was an extremely pleasant individual to talk to. The price of the platter that could feed an entire dinner party was equal to the price of a three person meal at TFM; Fred Meyer's cost was EXTREMELY good compared to TFM. On top of all that, I would not have been able to tell the difference between the Sushi rolls from Fred Meyer vs. the Sushi rolls from TFM. The way that the Sushi platter was laid out was even impressive; very pleasing to look at. I was extremely impressed overall with Fred Meyer's Sushi! Although dining in isn't much of an option, this is my new goto for bringing home Sushi. Hat's off to the chef. I love Fred Meyer...however I had the worst experience at the jewelry department at this store. I've been a customer with Fred Meyer Jewelers in Spokane for years. But being I live in Coeurdalene now, I figured I would go there. I got to the counter and an older gal with dark hair asked if I needed help. I had two of my grandmothers rings, one needed to be sized and one needed the band to be fixed. She was rude from the beginning. Like I was an inconvenience for being there. She told me it would be $180 to fix the thin band that split. And $160 to resize my ring. She didn't give me time to talk more about options. So I walked out. I was supposed to do some Christmas shopping after, but I was just bummed I got treated like that and went home. It's amazing how one person can really make you feel bad and not want to come back. read more

I was in Fred Meyer today ---- not something I typically do since the location is not very convenient for me. Everything looked nice and shelves were well stocked. I found what I was looking for --- including some items on special that I hadn't intended on buying. When I got to the checkstand, I noticed that the prices were not ringing up with the special prices I saw on the shelves. I mentioned this to the cashier and she abruptly asked if I had a "Freddie's Card". I looked blankly at her since I didn't know there was such a thing. The total bill was over $10 more than I anticipated since I didn't receive the sale prices. I asked her how to get one and she said she was too busy to help. She just stood there and looked at me waiting for me to input my payment. I would have loved to just leave the cart right there but there were several customers in line and I didn't want to create a disturbance. So, my Fred Meyer experience was not good --- and expensive!! I will not shop there again -- and I want everyone to know about their customer service and pricing. Not worth the trip. I used to love this store! It carried an amazing variety of organic produce and I loved the furniture and housewares departments. I loved the how the produce department felt like a market place and how the produce guys were always around to answer questions.Only place I shopped for years. Now with the remodel hate it! They've put all the crap food (cookies, juice, soda, cereal, processed crap, and alcohol) in the front aisles so you have to pass them with kids. The electronics and to departments are combined in an inconvenient location. The furniture department is moved to a tiny area in the back and the selection is not worth having, it use to be displayed like a furniture store, now it feels like Big Lots. I haven't heard a good thing about it from others either. If I wanted to shop at a ghetto warehouse I would go to Walmart, Winco, or Yokes. Looks like Super One is my new grocer. read more

My son got fried chicken from the deli today for 8 people. He ask the clerk if it was fresh and was told it was just put out. He lied. It was so overcooked or over warmed that it was barely edible. The wings and breasts were so dry they were stringy. Never again. On the plus side I like the store, the produce, and the gas prices. read more

I love their organic section and the guy who runs it is great at carrying products I have requested. The clothing section is pretty expensive considering the brands. But I mostly just come for the organic food. My one complaint is that there are ALWAYS boxes that are unpacked and a cart by the frozen organic section. It's a narrow area anyways and there are always tons of people so it would be nice if that cart and boxes weren't in everyone's way. read more

I came into this Fred Meyer in a hurry with a couple very specific items that I was looking for. I flagged down a gal in the customer service area and she immediately began helping me look for a woman's long sleeve white shirt with no print. After looking all over the place we managed to come up with a solution, and Under Armour shirt! I never would have found it without the help of the gals working that day. I also had to pick up some steel wool and staff was nice enough to point me in the right direction! When checking out, I'm a big fan of the self-checkout kiosks. Fred Meyer is always has a bunch of them and there's not typically a line at them. Again, the guy working was very friendly and help take the anti-theft tags off of the shirt. I'm a big fan of the One Stop Shop and Fred Meyer typically has competitive prices. The store is clean and bright....and i found the staff friendly! I'd recommend this as an option to stop in and get everything you need! read more

i am a huge fan of this store for the most part. the meat department is super expensive and not that great but the produce is good for this area and i love they expanded the grocery department with a bigger variety of the things i normally buy and revamped their rewards card program with better deals and the friday freebie. i am going to gripe about my experience at the service meat counter. my wife and I were there on a saturday at about 1-130pm. there was one person behind the counter already helping someone, another person washing/drying dishes that did not budge from her spot, even as more people gathered at the counter, and after we had about a 5 minute wait the girl assisting the aforementioned customer finally called someone out of the back to come help. all i wanted was a pound and a half of bacon. the stuff i wanted was kind of in the back behind the pepper bacon and under the brown sugar bacon so i couldn't see what I was getting. came home with just about the fattiest bacon i have ever seen. i went ahead and fried it up in my skillet. the last few pieces didn't just fry, they deep fried. had i not had my freddie's rewards card my bacon fat would have been $6.49 a pound but saved a whopping $1.50 a pound. i am able to get much leaner bacon at winco for less. maybe i will just keep doing that. read more

I am (or was) a regular at Fred Meyer in cda. Actually, I think I'm close to spending more time there than at my own home! Unfortunately, Yesterday was a complete turnoff. I was there to purchase salad for an event at our club house. I hoped to purchase the oriental salad that is just absolutely one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I was told that the salad is delivered just every other day. The alternative was to test a couple of the other salads, but when I asked to test a couple, I was abruptly told that I can't. That was it. There was no "I'm sorry but we're no longer allowed to do that." I had no choice but to go to Super One, a store that is actually closer to my home. The young lady there allowed me to try samples of several salads, which actually were very good. The salad I purchased was delicious. It made quite an impression on a number of the luncheon participants for whom I made the purchase. I will be shopping at Super One more often! read more

I am extremely disappointed in my experience with this Fred Meyer. Under normal circumstances, I never use the pick up service, but I am sick this week and am also managing a personal crisis with our mother in the ICU. We haven't had any time to think about groceries and I needed to get something quick and easy this time around. I placed an order for pick up yesterday and was set to get the order between 5 and 6. I received a call stating they were behind on orders and short staffed and asked if I could come between 7 and 8. I was very gracious and understanding and even told the person calling that it sounded like they were having a tough time and I was sincerely sorry about it and more than willing to move the time. When the pick up time arrived, we were on a video chat with our mother in ICU - this is a daily occurrance, but we are never sure exactly when the ICU nurse will be able to facilitate this. Due to the extreme circumstance, my husband arrived FIVE MINUTES LATE (8:05pm) and was curtly told by Cameron in the pick up department that our order was no longer able to be picked up due to his tardiness. At this exact moment, his sick mother was literally on a video chat asking for my husband to stay connected with her. He then had to disconnect the call with his mom to speed around the store trying to think of the absolute necesities we needed to keep things rolling at home while we continue to deal with this crisis. No one ever expressed to us that there would be a cut off time and especially after only five minutes. The store itself was still open and the staff of the pick up department still there. One has to imagine that our full order was sitting in bags at the ready, fully paid for when he arrived. They basically told us to f*** off. I called this morning before writing a review to see what could be worked out and got an apology and an offer of $10 off our order from Mark, the manager of the pick up department. I have opted to never do business with this grocery store again. The lack of care or concern for their customers is disappointing. I do comprehend what it is like to be working short staffed with too many orders to deal with, and I would not avail myself of this service unless necessary. I would like to remind the kind folks there that while you may be experiencing a bad day, someone else may be in extreme crisis and in need a bit of grace. I gave them the opportunity to make this right, but they failed to do so. PLEASE BE ADVISED WHEN ENGAGING THIS SERVICE FROM THIS STORE. read more

I have to say ...I love the store...but they use Instacart for their delivery service....Two orders....first one several items missing...no refund. Second one and I specifically state NO SUBSTITUTES....most items were a different brand. I tried to reach them on line...couldn't submit. Called...I had according to them a 59 minutes wait....I stayed on my computer working, waited 126 minutes and then got a dial tone. I have call all through the night.....it is now 3AM....recording says....59 minutes....I feel robbed....Missing items again and the rest the wrong brand........NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

I used to love coming to this fred meyer but after today I realized i was done with this location. I came to the store to grab medicine for my dog who had a bad allergic reaction and had to bring her inside the store with me so I can continue to watch her breathing and make sure it wasn't getting worse. She is also my registered service animal so there shouldn't be any question about bringing her in. After checking out, on my way to my vehicle, one of the grocery baggers mer mers and says "its like people cant read, theres a sign on the damn door that says no pets" and looks directly at me. This mostly upset me because instead of being a mature person and coming up to me to say it, he had to stare me down and not tell me directly. I dont know if he even noticed that she was a service dog or not but the fact he didn't even say it to my face and stared me down was weird. I thought this store was awesome because it had a daycare for kids. You could just drop off the little ones while you shop. The reason I give it three store is because of the service. While shopping for toys with the kids a clerk came up and asked if we were done with they toys I was buying for my daughter. I said no, but he still picked them up and put them back on the shelves. He then proceeded to stand the and stare at me for like 10 minutes. One thing I appreciated was the Deli Counter. I'm from Texas and you can't get cheese like this down there! read more

I went to Fred Meyer yesterday to take advantage of their great produce and meat department. I was disappointed to see that there was no one at the entrance cleaning carts or making sure that returned carts were getting sanitized. There was a cart with some sanitizing supplies a few yards past the entrance, but it wasn't clear whether or not anyone could use it. From what I could see, only about a quarter of the customers were wearing masks and maybe about half of the employees were wearing them. It was frustrating to see that there was so little enforcement of mask-wearing when our Covid-19 cases are dramatically increasing by the day. I spoke with the manager, who said the store requires employees to wear masks unless they produce a note from a physician. Customers are not required to wear masks because the Idaho governor doesn't enforce it. However, Costco requires customers to wear masks, so I'm not sure why Fred Meyer can't. Very disappointing to see that the health of grocery workers and customers is not a top priority. Until Covid-19 is a thing of the past, Fred Meyer has lost a loyal customer here. read more

Never will I shop in this store again. First time yesterday 7-22-2015. Was very impressed with overall store and found fresh made Sushi. Thought I was in Heaven, I live in Northern Idaho so fresh Sushi is hard to find. Then today I read about a yellowfin tuna recall and check, Fred Meyers store is listed so I call them cause I am sick today after eating last night. Deli manager was rude and said they had no information on recall so if I was sick it must be something else. Well when the only thing you have eaten in 12 hours is the Sushi I worry just a little. I will never ever shop in the store again. And they need to retrain this person to be a little more customer friendly. P.S. I tried calling back to talk to customer service and sure enough get ugly person again. Nope, no way no how will I shop there again nor would I recommend that store to any one. read more

PRX Dept - My doctor had written me refill for a controlled med., I understand the strict laws around refill and brought in the prx I was written. While the signature date was correct the doctor had an error on the origination date and they could not fill (this is a reoccurring prescription that I have refilled at FM every 90 days for the past 10 years). I understand the relevant laws and appreciate that they could not fill. My complaint is that the tech who took the PRX did not review the prescription when I left it with her and the same tech provided counseling, not a pharmacist when I returned to pick up. Having been a customer at this pharmacy for over 15 years I appreciate the "rules" and that people make mistakes. This was also compounded by leaving town the next day for a week. However, when the Technician advised me that there is a possibility I could have severe withdrawals and I could then go into the ER or urgent care where I was visiting for help - really? When I buy Sudafed the pharmacist offers me counseling, but for severe withdrawals and advisement to visit the ER - I speak to a Pharmacy Technician? Is she even authorized to give that kind of advice off the cuff? The technician also agree that "I was screwed!" Disappointing that after a significant number of years I need to find a pharmacy (store) that provides a bit of "extra" follow-up and attention - extremely disappointed in the Fred Meyer, Coeur d Alene store. read more

The only way you get a good deal at Fred Meyer is if you have a club card. Just because I do not want to be bothered by all their emails and notifications I can't get the same deal as everyone else. I guess I'm not good enough to get the same treatment unless I have a club card. There are plenty of other competitors out there offering the same, if not better, prices. I had never heard of Fred Meyer stores until my husband and I recently went to spend a month in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Since we were only visiting, we obviously weren't doing huge amounts of grocery shopping, but what we found was great. With coupons, we got great prices on some staple items, such as bread, milk and juice. The head of lettuce that I purchased there stayed fresh longer than any that I've ever gotten at home in New Mexico. And the customer service was out of this world! The cashiers couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. And the workers of whom I asked questions always treated me with respect and kindness. Even if Fred Meyer is a bit more expensive (as some of the reviews indicate), I think I'd be willing to pay a little more for such super service. Thank you, Fred Meyer and employees. read more

FM kicked its bell ringers for the Salvation Army to the curb today. So these volunteers, elderly, or small children, or talented singers who try to bring Christmas cheer to FM shoppers are now relegated to standing for hours out in freezing cold temperatures and esp. the north winds on the CDA store. If I see the bell ringers outside in this horrible weather, I will continue on to Safeway or Super one. So easy. Will save me money, but am disappointed in FM as Salvation Army encourages people to shop to support the kettle fund, esp. the mayor's challenge. I say move it to Safeway where they let the volunteers be in halfway warm conditions to ring the bell. read more

I have always loved Fred Meyer. I feel they have a great produce department. However I was recently upset with my experience. I was in the "natural department" and picked up a bottle of Sunbutter. I have a fatal peanut allergy and so Sunbutter is peanut free and a great substitute. On the outside container was peanut butter. I quickly washed my hands and avoided a reaction, but when I alerted staff they treated me as if it was no big deal. I was very shocked and unimpressed by their disregard for my safety and experience. When I called the corporate store the lady was rude and had no sympathy or apologies. I stopped in Fred Meyer in Coeur d'Alene on Friday, November 27th (Black Friday) to pick up a couple of items that were advertised. I didn't get there early when they first opened but a few hours later in the morning. Everything I was looking for was still there, which indicates good inventory management. In spite of all the chaos and long lines, the clerks were very friendly and informative in helping me find what I wanted. There was also hot coffee and donuts provided, which was also a plus. Overall, it was a pleasant shopping experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back there again on Black Friday. read more
