Hot food counter and a rac!st.

Went there for some fried chicken, walked up to the counter and the gentleman scoffed and walked into the back for over five minutes, finally came back out, and I got his attention and he refused me service. I assume because I'm white. Been shopping here for years. This will be the last time.

WOW food and cloths everything I need for my trip I'm really surprised the prices are pretty reasonable for being in Alaska. Plus they have fresh seafood and every deli item you need. Definitely a must stop

For those on the East Coast, I'd liken this place to a cross between Walmart and Sears. And get your souvenirs here, prices don't get better elsewhere although selection is not comprehensive. The only thing missing are fruit jams and honeys. There's a complete food area with ready made food and produce, flowers, just like a grocery store, etc. But it's so much more...you have a huge outdoor section (maybe because it's Alaska), a big souvenir section (tip: get your stuff here it's almost HALF the price than the airport...regretting that I didn't do it), and they label local goods so you know what to get. Some good ideas: local coffees, jerkies, moose chocolates, and those Hawaiian Luau chips are kind of unusual.

If a grocery store and department store had a baby, it would be Fred Meyer. Came here because the groceries here are a lot cheaper then Safe Way. They have huge market with everything you could need. They are a Kroger brand store so they have generic groceries for cheap. Very busy. Great place to get groceries and other necessities for your trip.

    Huge Fred Meyer in Fairbanks

One of the largest grocery stores in Fairbanks from what I've seen. It has a huge selection of items, not just food. I came to buy a few gifts and snacks during my stay.

This Freddie's is a quieter and more subdued ( people) and other Freddie's in the states.

The staff were friendly and attentive -- I had a question about a product, and they went out of their way to help me find exactly what I needed. Checkout was quick, and the line moved smoothly thanks to the helpful cashiers. I also appreciated the wide selection of items, from groceries to household goods, all in one convenient location. Overall, it felt efficient, welcoming, and stress-free -- exactly what you hope for in a shopping trip. Definitely a positive experience that makes me want to return.

Maybe controlled from Arkansas; but that doesn't count for poor management and spending the money which just means higher prices for everybody else. 2. They should probably stop selling bedding plants and flowers. They don't seem to have the staffing to water the plants ( a demanding eight hour job). My wife bought two nice fuchsia baskets for $40. We went back to get more, most of them were dead, still marked at the full price. A few might have been worth risking at five dollars but not at half price. All of the plants against the building across the drive-by from the area in the parking lot where the rest of the plants are were unwatered. They also don't seem to have the staffing. They frequently don't have the Garden center customer door open and the register staffed. That means that if you're just there to buy plants, you have to pick the plants up and carry them quite a ways into the store and then back out after you purchased them. Just seems like all around poor management
