The delivery food is terrible and over priced. I thought i would try again after a year of not eating there. I didn't eat there because the flautas I ordered tasted literally like poop. Today I got the general chicken and fried rice. It was burnt. Over powering sauce. The rice was soggy and way too much soy sauce. The service didn't say a word or thanks for coming. The ambiance felt dead. It felt soulless in there. I will never make the mistake of eating there again​ read more

Our company graciously provides a flower bouquet for each employee's birthday. We order from Carrie at University Avenue Safeway each time, and are never disappointed! Flowers are always beautiful, fresh and creative, and the customer service is always spot on too! Beware, purchased a signature pie Strawberry/Rhubarb December 22, 2023 Airport Way Fairbanks AK 99709 grocery store. This a.m. noticed a piece of plastic about pinkie nail size or so that was baked right into the crust. Threw the pie out in the trash. Inspect your pies. Of course you have to buy it and THEN open it up to actually see the crust edge. The plastic could be anywhere and not just in the perimeter of the pie crust. read more

This might be a bit of an unorthodox review, but I'm really tired of the traffic the homeless people create here. Safeway opens its dining area for the homeless people to kill time and hang out. They constantly have the restrooms tied up, taking mini showers and doing whatever else in both bathrooms. Sometimes they forget to lock the door and I walk in on something I don't care to see. This also gives them a convenient place to panhandle. read more

I like Safeway. I frequent the deli sandwich counter. Tuscan Chicken sandwich is amazing! It is as good as Safeway stores in the lower 48. read more

This rating is for my recent lunch experience at Safeway east. First some comments on the store as a whole: Safeway is a much calmer, more organized shopping experience than the competitor across the street. You have to watch the prices, however, as some items are quite steep. Safeway is more of a store to go when looking for half price items or random specialty items not stocked elsewhere. Now, my lunch: I landed from the airport and decided I wanted a sandwich from Safeway. I got in line. I stood and I stood. And I stood in line. The poor young woman making sandwiches did not have her flow down nor did she have any support. She was clearly struggling without any recourse. This is the thing about getting a sandwich at Safeway...you never know how long it is going to take. In this case, it took me about half an hour to get my sandwich. I only continued standing in line because my stomach was dead set on it. In the end I got an all-veggie sandwich with red pepper hummus. Bonus points because it was Sabra brand. I noticed a sign that you could add a cup of soup for $1.99. I chose macaroni and cheese. I ate in the in-store dining area, which was filthy. The second I opened my sandwich paper, the whole thing fell apart. This was ok, as I just ate the veggies by themselves and then dipped the bread in the cheesy goodness. Overall it hit the spot and was a good balance of food groups. However, I deducted points for the wait time, the dirty eating area, the sandwich falling apart, and the fact that only 2 of the half dozen advertised breads were available. read more

A huge thank you to Safeway on Airport way for being the only place in Fairbanks to have Melona bars. If you have hadn't them yet, I HIGHLY recommend trying them! My only suggestion would be if they could get the coconut flavor as well! read more

For floral department - this floral shop knows what they are doing with wedding flowers. They did a beautiful job and gave personalized service. Tried using Safeway in College Road and they were horribly disorganized. So I switched to the Safeway on Airport Way. read more

I had exceptional service with a floral delivery this store made for me today. I am in Michigan and wanted to send flowers to my Mom who had surgery earlier this week. I saw online that they offer grocery delivery and have a floral department, so I called late this afternoon to ask if it would be possible to have a flower arrangement delivered to her hotel. C was so helpful and extremely professional in helping me to match an arrangement that met my flower and color preferences with the flowers they had on-hand and was within my budget. Even though she was soon scheduled to be off of work she said she'd have it done before she left for the day and would do what she could to make sure it was delivered today as well. This arrangement including delivery was priced far below the starting range of arrangements of most other florists in town. My Mom just called me and raved about the arrangement she received! She was impressed with the size and the overall look of the flowers and made mention of how friendly the delivery person was. She was extremely surprised that it came from a grocery store florist, because it is not usually the first place one would think of for flower arrangement delivery. I am so happy with the service we received today from start to finish and will definitely patronize this store again in the future. I have worked in customer service for 30 years and recognize phenomenal service when I see it. I wish all my dealings were as pleasurable as this one was. Safeway has a coffee shop and a florist, but the rest is groceries and they do it well. The shelves are consistently stocked and the isles are kept clean and clear. They do not sell clothing or furniture or electronics and this allows them to focus on their primary service of groceries. The produce is fresh and stocked daily, it can be a bit pricey but we are in Alaska. If you have a club card you can save a considerable amount of money on staple items. The store does not just direct you toward name brands with coupons all of the time, and they have tags around the isles that inform you of sale prices on house brands. As a person uses the club card they accumulate points toward gas savings. The staff is courteous and attentive, often asking if I need assistance finding something. I feel for the person who is sent out into thirty below zero to collect shopping carts, but I am glad they do it. When it comes to my food shopping I prefer and recommend Safeway first. read more

Love the pharmacy staff! So friendly and nice. They definitely go above and beyond. And only a 20 min wait generally.

I would shop at Safeway way more if they would turn up the temperature in the winter months. I will only shop there for one or two items at a time so I can get in and out because I'm freezing. Other than that, I love Safeway. read more

My boyfriend and I both got horribly sick (and weren't right for a couple of weeks) after consuming the Mongolian beef from the deli. Don't bring kids or elderly here to eat!! Could be a fatal mistake. read more

I have ordered cakes from the Bakery that get raves each time they are presented. The cakes are always beautiful and tasty. The Bakery staff is always nice and helpful on the phone and when the cake is picked up. Keep up the great work! read more
