So we had a 50 dollar gift card, so we stopped by and picked up 6 things for $53.00. I'm not sure how this place stays in business. We grabbed to entrees from the deli. Should have walked away when we saw how dry and old the food was. But I still tried them. Grabbed sweet and hot chicken, the 8 little pieces I got in the bowl of old dried rice weren't worth it. Dude loaded up a bowl with a lot of veggies. Then the barbecue pork was nice size cuts of meat but destroyed by a ginger barbecue sauce. Won't be doing this again. Should have gone to Panda Express. read more

The BEST floral department in Fairbanks. I always keep fresh flowers in my house & Safeway is the only place to get them. Just have to add - being a girl who grew up in California, if you don't wrap your flowers during the winter to keep them warm from outside & the car they will freeze & die within a day. read more

Fresh produce and poultry. Stocked very well. Already lots of holidays desserts for sale. Tons of pumpkin pies and cookies on display. Since it's Halloween time tons of pumpkins skeletons witches decor throughout the store. Staff is friendly and aisles are kept clean and organized. read more

The only reason I gave this place and he stars at all is because I had to. and they did have the roaat that I was looking for. The first time I was there I stood at the deli, waiting for 10 minutes and finally walked away.I decided to give it another go.I had to use the restroom when I was there and it was disgusting. The floor was sticky the toilet was dirty the sink was dirty I walked out and didn't even use it. prices are crazy. Don't go there! read more

Safeway has made shopping into a frustrating chore. I'm 69, and my husband is 75. We do not appreciate being forced to use a Safeway app to get sales prices. The digital coupons and "game" promotions are not fun for us. Other people we know of our age group feel the same. I'd like to shop your ads, but I give up. I'm going to shop at Walmart instead of Safeway, because it's less confusing and less ageist. No thanks for your "deals". I used to like Safeway. Now I hate it. read more

This review if for the Liquor Department only. So you have just flown into Fairbanks, Alaska without any Wine or Liquor because Alaska @#$%^&* Airlines charges you for every bag and then hits you for $30 more if you go over 50 pounds. Your in a town of 30,000 and expectations are low on quality and high on price. Yet after a 3 day tour of the interior you are bound for a Princess cruise with no time to stop before you get on the ship in Whittier/the dock near Anchorage. Safeway to the rescue! It's one of those stores in a store things with it's own separate door and walled off area things, (so the children don't see those wicked bottles I suppose), and yes it's on the small side by Los Angeles standards but it did the job nicely. I scored Far Niente Chardonay, Veuve Clicquot Champage & Absolut Vodka among other things and all at reasonable/some were on sale prices and since I had the Safeway card with me I got an extra 10% off. Score !!! I kept some for the land tour and sent some on with my "cruise" bag to the ship. Yes it was more than I would have paid for it in LA but I saved a small fortune on my bar tab on the ship. Paying the wine corkage fee at dinner and sipping from your own bottle while admiring the sights both before and after you got on the ship was very nice indeed. Oh, and since it's it own little store there are no long supper market lines to deal with. read more

I tried to do wedding flowers here but it was a disaster. Despite repeated visits and follow up, they kept giving me different quotes - wildly different and couldn't tel me exactly what I ordered. Cancelled and went to Safeway West instead. read more

Being a trapped in Fairbanks tourist thanks to a not so bright moose we went here several times. Great choice for fish. There was a Young guy from Eastern Europe who waited on me twice in the Gus department - great kid. On the last visit went to the same kid in the fish dept. and at the checkout realized we met the kids girlfriend. Great kids! Compared to Walmart this place was friendly and stocked well. read more

I always enjoy stopping by this particular Safeway, customer service is top notch and they have a great selection. It might seem expensive but as soon as you get a Safeway card and look for some discounts it's not so bad. Flowers here are amazing too. Waaaay better than Freddy's or Walmart. read more

Pretty run-of-the-mill Safeway. We stopped here on our first day in town to pick up groceries for the week. Prices were a little higher than what I'm used to in Seattle, but not terribly so. Brand selection was the same for the stuff I needed (pasta/pasta sauce/lean turkey), which was great! There is ample parking out front, and a liquor store next door that lets you use your Safeway card for discounts. read more

I usually shop here every Friday night - tonight was the last night. Items have been moved around so much that even staff has trouble finding things. I had to ask for help getting an item off of a shelf because it had been jammed in. But the final straw is their bathrooms - tonight, as normal, they were absolutely filthy. Have tried talking to the general manager who assured me they would do better - that lasted one week. Filth on the floor, toilet bowl brushes laying around the floor, paper all over the place. I've seen their clerks use these restrooms and can only wonder that is being passed on to can goods, fruits and vegetables etc. read more
