We were told by a Fred Meyer clerk at the Sunnyside Fred Meyer that if you do not have and use a Fred Meyer rewards card that you will charged more money for grocery items at the register. I have not heard of this before since Fred Meyer told us the rewards card only meant that you would get store credits sent to you in the mail. I think it's pretty bad over charging people more for items they buy at Fred Meyers when they don't use their rewards without making that information public. read more

While sale prices are good the quality is lacking. The store always feels a little dirty to me and why are there at least a dozen checkout stands and only a handful manned! I was so excited when we moved out to the Damascus area and this store opened. Now shopping here just gives me anxiety. I know we are in a pandemic and supplies can be short, but this store can't keep up. Sometimes there are so many click list employees shopping, you can't get down an isle. The customer service isn't that good, but I have to say the customers can be even worse. What's going to happen when all the houses are built, and there are thousands more people trying to shop here. I always wait over 10 minutes to pick up my prescriptions here. It's really frustrating when only one pharmacist seems to care that there's a huge line of people waiting. Everyone else just looks so annoyed and doesn't seem hurried at all. The lady with the glasses is always so rude to me when I talk to her. This Freddies is one of the newer ones with wide aisles, organic foods, and a sushi bar. The staff is actually nice and attentive at this one! It's my favorite place to grocery shop and I'll even go out of my way to shop at this particular Fred Meyer. The pharmacy staff has been great as well. read more

This store is the anchor for this business development. The store is clean, well organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are comparable to other similar stores. The deli, sushi bar, beer and wine bar, and cheese selection set this store above other local competition. The garden center is also a big plus. This is truly a one stop shop experience. One thing to note, as with other Fred Meyer locations, this was not built with an "electronics" section. I can only assume between loss prevention and internet completion these sections are not as profitable as they once were. read more

Seems every time I go here the Girl Scouts are waiting for me outside with cookies like it's a trap haha however the store is a very new and clean addition to the area. I can't believe this Fred Meyer is finally open! No more having to drive over to 82nd! I've been here only twice so far and the first time was in the evening around 10:20 PM. It was a little packed but mainly I think it was because it was the first day open and people were curious to see how it looked. The second time was a few days later on a Sunday at 12PM during the day and it was PACKED! I was scared of running kids over with my cart! It almost felt like bumper cars with how many people kept running into me. Getting through an aisle was tough when there were more than 2-3 people. Over all the place is very clean, organized and lots of employees to ask questions if you have any. The check out lines were very long, almost going into the middle of the aisle! Probably as bad as Costco lines. I suggest you go shopping in the evenings when there are less people and less carts in your way! They also have a sushi area where you can eat and a Starbucks inside too. If you're in the area check it out! read more

I can't decide which is slower, the gas station attendants or the pharmacy. Does the pharmacy understand why hours of operation are important? How about, so that I don't drive 20 minutes, spend another 15 min in line, only to get to the window to find a paper sign stuck to it saying the pharmacist is out to lunch and there will be no pickups for another 30 min. Totally absurd waste of my time. Now I have to either make another trip, or waste another half an hour because they can't stay staffed during open hours. read more

I live right next to this gas station and will go out of my way (as in go to the Milwaukie location) to avoid going here. Plan on spending at least 15 minutes here, even if it's not busy. Yesterday I unfortunately had to suck it up just go to this station for gas. It wasn't busy, I pulled right up and within a minute an attendant came over. Then I waited an additional 7 minutes because he was chatting to the car in front of me. The car came after me, the attendant stood there the entire time the car was getting gas, removed the nozzle and continued talking to them. I was waiting the entire time for someone to take 5 seconds to remove the novel from my car. If I am not allowed to remove it myself then attendants need to do their job in a timely manner. 7 minutes is an absurd amount of time for someone to be waiting to leave. read more

Slowest gas station on earth. These guys move like zombies on downers. With only 3 cars in the station it can easily take 15+ minutes to buy gas. Nobody is in charge, nobody seems to know or care how to serve customers. It's really bizarre! Stay away. read more

You won't find it at Fred Meyer. I am not sure if they have an employee shortage or just don't care because their shelves are often unstocked and unfaced. I went to get their baked bread at 5pm on Saturday and there was almost nothing. I am not sure who manages this location, but it looks like no one does. I have repeatedly gone in to find them out or no longer carrying something only to have to drive to the local Safeway. It is too bad because I use to really like Fred Meyer, but now will no longer shop there. read more

Fred Meyer on Sunnyside road. Horrible experience at this Fred Meyer bakery, everything from ordering the cake to when I picked it up. Just awful! When I went to pick up the cake, it looked nothing like what I pre-ordered. I even gave them a picture with distinct details on what I wanted. How could they mess it up this bad!? It was seriously the ugliest cake I've ever seen! Even the woman at the check register looked surprised when she saw it! I seriously couldn't even eat the cake because it was completely covered in ugly crunchy, hard sprinkles. Who wants to bite into hard crunchy stuff when they are eating cake?...not me! I was excited about the opening of this Fred Meyers it is near home! The store itself is spacious, modern and quality standard as expected. I shop regularly at Freddy's and as a 30+ year customer I have always been happy with my experiences. I have twice however been disappointed with the customer service at this locations Deli. Once, a fluke, twice it is developing into a trend... On both occasions, staff were slower, appearing to be inadequately trained in efficient processing of packaging. I would not usually point out such things however the last experience was such a disappointment. I put together a salad at their self-serve bar on a provided paper plate to eat at their nice seating area just south of the deli. This was during their normal salad bar and deli hours however the deli staff were unable to weigh the salad despite having scales available. After waiting 15 minutes to speak with the deli staff, they relayed that the deli cashiers were not available and the deli staff didn't know why someone was not available but it was not their job to weigh items from the salad bar. Their solution was to instruct me to take my salad on a open paper plate and go to the Starbucks counter to have them weigh it. I went to the Starbucks counter, waited in line to learn that they do not have a scale. I returned to the deli and was instructed to then go to the grocery check-out to wait in line, place my salad on the un-sanitized cashier stand belt and have them weigh it and then return to the deli area to eat it. As I appalled by the option and I have not done this before but inquired if it was possible to not purchase I was quickly offered the option to speak with the manager. I was appalled by the lack of assistance by the deli manager who seemed more annoyed he was being bothered to speak with us. His response was staff were available at the cashier stand during normal salad bar hours and as it was not normal business hours we needed to use the grocery check-out. As a response, I asked the manager what were the salad bar hours as it seemed unusual it would be closed at this time as well as unusual that the bar was not closed if outside normal hours. The manager replied to the question, the salad bar was open until 7:00 PM this day. It was 6:15 PM meaning I had arrived even earlier prior to 6:00 pm to obtain my plate and wait in line. After he realized based on my question it was normal business hours he replied oh I guess someone should be there but I don't know why not. You will still have to go to the grocery check-out as no one is available... An inadequate response from a manager who should be able to assist. Makes me question the quality of the management oversight of the area, sub-standard training/performance requirements by leadership and lack of ownership by the manager of a customer concern. All told it was 30+ minutes to try to complete a simple transaction to purchase a self-serve salad bar plate that took me less than 3 minutes to put together. read more

This new store is AWESOME! It is huge! This FM has features and items you will not find at any other FM -- AND -- the people that work there are fabulous! Grocery, natural/organic foods, bakery, deli, meat are all larger than other stores. Do yourself a favor and visit the store to get an idea of all the wonderful features this new store has. It is unlike any other FM in the PDX Metro area for sure. Try out the ClickList option as well. It's wonderful! You can order online and pull into the parking lot in a designated spot to have your groceries loaded directly into your car for you! How cool is that?!! Word has it that same day ordering and pickup will be available beginning on Dec 8th -- just in time for holiday parties, etc. I'm switching grocery stores!!! read more

A VERY slow pharmacy! The last three times of used them they didn't fill the prescriptions until you arrived to get them. Alas a 45 minute wait and a 35 minute wait later with a very sick and miserable 7-year-old. This pharmacy is either understaffed or poorly run! If you need a prescription filled the same day your doc send it to them, I highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

I bought a turkey for Thanksgiving at this new store. Staff was cheerful and experienced. The turkey ended up being the worst ever.It was a fresh turkey but had ice in the cavity (?) no pop-up and cooked as directed. It was pink and tough! Somehow, this Fred Meyer store must've hired the same butcher that "butchered" steaks at the Battle Ground, WA two years ago, or perhaps it's just FM policy. I bought a four pack of New York steaks on 4/6/2017, and when I got them home, I discovered that the "butcher" cut the steaks so that the "bone" end was at least 3/4", and the other end was only 1/4" thick! You just can't cook a steak properly that is uneven in thickness by as much as 1/2" difference and expect it to come out juicy. I will never shop at Fred Meyer for meat ever again! read more

There are lots of nice things about this big new Fred Meyer's on Sunnyside. The shop and automotive section is not one of them! It seems as though the tool section lost out to the clothing and fashion section. It's not like the store is located downtown. There is a real need for a good selection of shop and automotive supplies. If you're like me, this Freddy's will not be a one stop shop for you either.
