Went in to exchange some of the father's day gift I received for some pants or shoes I needed for work, yet the Redondo/Kent Fred Meyer's dirty blonde customer service worker decided to berate me and ban me for 90days (from returning any items) because the gift receipt was missing.?! I've used to love choosing Fred Meyer and been a loyal customer to drive past the 2 Safeway's by my house but I'm not gonna patron a place that employs anyone who has to handle customer service, as simple a return/exchange, yet patronizes their customers. No matter how retailers routinely re-arrange shelves and end caps to make products more attractive and sell, but for a Dad and busy worker like me... it slows down my shopping and I can shrug it off. The last 3 Fred Meyers (Fairwood/Benson; Kent; Covington... and now Redondo) I have patron the most in the last 4 years have all had long renovations during my shopping experience and I still stayed a loyal customer. However, being treated like some hoodrat that is scheming the store out of money the store already received when I tried to return father's day gifts for I store credit to buy work pants and maybe shoes. Instead the customer service gal, wanted to berate me, when I was a little confused how I got banned for 90-days yet she never told me wait before we start I see there are a lot of items (4 polos and one khaki short and belt) with one item showing a tag of $50, yet our policy only allows $70 limit for return without receipt. But she just went into her process of booking me like a criminal and taking my Id and then say I'm in the system now I can't even take a polo away to try to return less to try to get pants for work. She insults me, yet I try to ask why she didn't tell me that when she scanned the barcode that showed item cost $50 and then she says if the person who bought the items has a Fred Meyer card and has a phone number and paid debit card I could give the number, which if she had said that at the beginning I could have provided that info then again to remind me I'm some criminal when I ask I can give you that she says, No, your already in the system! I see you standing here." How do you train your employees on handling customer service and returns and exchanges??? Will definitely start shopping elsewhere and tell everyone to avoid the Fred Meyer experience Also, this is the same Fred Meyer I saw an insect (a centipede) inside their build almond container and I notified an employee, he was a high school looking maybe early college age,,but he barely looked and it and seemed to not worry when I recommended if he doesn't see it now he should pull the item or have his manager do it because that's unsanitary. I wasn't gonna parent Fred Meyer but don't shop here because it's obviously a systemic problem in the Fred Meyer training!!! read more

I worked at this location back in the mid 70's when Fred Meyer was still dropping by for his "quick looks around". Lots has changed since then but the customer service he demanded seems to still be there. I love A&W diet cream soda and the grocery staff is always more than happy to special order it for me. It usually arrives within a week or so. This is a well stocked store with many good choices. Sometimes the checkout lines get longer than normal but I attribute that more to the time than lack of staff, when that has happened to me they have all but a couple check stands open. Some people get upset if they have to wait more than a couple seconds to check out. I think that is more prevalent around rush hour when some are already frustrated with traffic and already have short fuses or the customer at the front needs a little extra attention and take a little extra time to get through the line. I do believe that anybody that needs the extra help appreciates that extra 30 seconds it takes to solve a little issue, I know I do when I need it. read more

This is my go to grocery store. Not anymore. Not even 2 weeks ago I went grocery shopping on a Sunday and I ended up buying mayonnaise. When I got home and opened it the next day I could tell something was off I couldn't figure out what though. Now that half of it is gone I bought a jar of mayonnaise in May that expired in January. I love love love my store! I have been shopping here for at least 30 years! I can go to one store and find everything I need! The security is getting much much better and I certainly appreciate that. The clerks are friendly and the store is fully stocked! The deli department has been pretty un helpful as far as getting somebody to help you but I do see that it is getting better now. Fred Meyer knows where their problems are and they are certainly taking action. The Vegetable department is one of the best I've seen in a store and the liquor department is always helpful if you have a question! I'm glad they are so close to home where I can shop there. read more

Not a year old yet! Brand new! Great veggie selection, tons of organics, bulk seasonings and dry goods! There is an on site butcher and seafood department! There are toys, gardening and well EVERYTHING! Sheets and towels I mean literally a ONE STOP Shopping Center! I am able to send money via Western Union using my debit card at their customer service center! I had out of town guest this weekend and needed some little odds and ends.. Well, let me say the prices are a bit high but I go with it cause of the convenience of being so close by. Stopped by here on our way home looking for a One Hour Photo and bingo...it was just right on the entrance..drop off the film .then we went for dinner...I use to develop my own picturesbut unfortunately ...I dropped my Cannon and I still have to bring it for repair..so I just have to content myself using these disposable ones for now. Not bad.2 for $9.99. Came back afterwards to pick up the pictures....and it was surprisingly very good...It didn't seemlike it came out of disposable.... We just moved to Federal Way so last week when I went to the store in Twin Lakes for the first time it was such a disappointing experience. Many empty shelves, staples not available and what was on the shelves was messy. I decided to drive the other direction and try the Redondo store this week- so glad I did. Everything I needed was on the shelves, well-stocked deli with nice people behind the counter, a wide variety of good-looking produce and flowers. Nice parking lot, easy to access gas station outside, too. This will be my store from now on. Yay! read more

Terrible ,rude employees. I have shop in this fredmeyer since i move 3yrs. Ago. At first they greeted me, but ever since fredmeyer has hired young employees they are so rude they never bother asking if i need any assistance. some of the elderly cashiers are nice, but the rest of them are SO rude. I am not PLANNING ON shopping here eventhough is closer to my home. Planning to shop somewhere else where they DO appreciate my money.. I'm not usually a fan of Fred Meyer (tend to hate them) but my opinion changed about this location! It is the "new" Fred Meyer in the area. It is very nice and very user friendly. They actually had the sale items from the flyer (and they weren't hidden.............) so got some screamin grocery deals (Fresh Express Cesear Salad for $1 !!). Then we went over to try to find some pants for daughter # 1 - she actually found a super cute pair and after all the discounts they were only $24.50! Cher, in the women's department was super nice and helpful (a first for any FM that I've ever gone to). I think I will be back! read more

Absolutely terrible experience! Pharmacy was seemingly ran by hominids, I was there for about an hour or more trying to communicate with the pharmacist to acquire a prescription. If you need anything from the pharmacy try a different location. The other departments of the store are not as terrible as the pharmacy, you'd be better off taking your business elsewhere. read more

It's the everything store. Seriously. You can get clothes, groceries, electronics and so much more. The prices are pretty reasonable too. I grabbed a few goodies and a shirt (because I realized I didn't have an undershirt). Customer service seemed helpful as well. This location is huge and very organized. I love this store. Aside from the "one-stop shopping" experience, Fred Meyer has everything you could want. They have a kids zone where you can drop off your child (2+) who can color, play with toys, and watch Dora and Diego while you do your shopping. This amenity is a real life-saver for me. I have an extremely independent two year old who will absolutely not allow me to try on a shirt without digging an escape tunnel out of the dressing room. The produce is always fresh and well-organized. They have a huge selection of breads and treats in the bakery. My favorite bread is the artisan whole clove garlic loaf. YUM. Fred Meyer has an inordinate amount of healthy and all-natural items to choose from at unbeatable prices. This is one of the main reasons I shop here. There is also a large selection of specialty 22oz beers available. Makes it nice to not have to go aaaaaaaallllll the way down to 99 Bottles in Federal Way to find something a little better than your standard Sierra Nevada or Henry's. read more

I love the store itself.... but they have the worst bathrooms ever!! AN when I personally asked the manger if I could get some toilet paper... literally all the stalls were out! As far as stores and 1 stop shopping goes, I love Fred Meyer so don't get me wrong on this review. I am giving the Customer Service 2 stars because of their lack there of. It's challenging to rate a grocery store due to all of the competition, but here are some Good points to this location. 1. Always great sales 2. Always clean 3. I think they have everything you could every want 4. Great Organic section !! Down sides: 1. Customer Services is just not there, I have asked for help on a variety of things and checkers have directed me to Managers in which I still do NOT get any help, usually I get met with "I don't know" or we don't carry it or we are out of it... So I still shop there, because I am vegetarian and eat all organic and they do have a great selection. But I have shopped there less because I go to an organic market in Federal Way!! Got to admit. Moving to Washington I was very impressed with Fred Meyer. With the wide variety of stuff you can Definently get what you need here. Employees allways so friendly and helpful. Lines are not long which is a plus because they allways have enough registers open. Got an amazing deal on a couch for our home. The checkers at this location are extremely rude and uncaring and seldom gracious, kind or appreciative of your business. I am actually finding this to be true of any of the Fred Meyers I shop at lately. My recent experience at this particular location was a checker that never looked up to say hello or even make eye contact. I mentioned I didn't need a particular item after all and she ignored me. She started to ring it up and I said " I'm sorry ma'am but I don't need that item." She grabbed it and tossed it to the end of the counter. The only thing she then said was " is there anything else here you don't want." She did a horrible job bagging my items. Many things put in bags that could crush items in the bottom of the bag. She then handed me my receipt without a word said. Definitely not a thank-you and on to the next order. I was so angry that I found a manager and explained the situation and of course, she was no better. Not an "I'm so sorry", no "we appreciate your business" just an I'll talk to her." Absolutely mortified and disgusted to walk by the bakery today and watch the lady frosting the cakes. She was using a spatula or something to smooth frosting on the top of the cake, SNEEZED without turning or covering her mouth, and continued frosting! She sneezed right onto the cake! Not a tiny little sneeze either, like a full on heavy sneeze.That is one of the most revolting things I've seen a food worker do. I should have said something but I was so disgusted I just turned around and walked out of the store. The way she continued on, didn't look around to see if anyone was watching, says to me that it's normal for her to do that. Just lately, i have had to always pick up my own cart in the parking lot because there isn't one in the store. And now I have to always checkout my own cart! I used to always use the self-checkout unless I had lots of fruits & veggies that had to be weighed, but used the express checker lanes for that reason. read more

Worst pharmacy of all time. I have consistently run into issues. I went to dr on a Tuesday and she sent the Rx in. I come in on Friday to get it and they say they don't have it and need to order it and I won't be able to get it until Monday. I asked why they wouldn't order it earlier when the Rx came in Tuesday morning and she just said they hadn't ordered it. Pretty annoying and unprofessional. I work in a hospital and deal with prescriptions regularly. if we don't have a requested med we call the patient and let them know and give them an ETA for their meds. I'm on accutane and absolutely have to pick up my meds within a certain window. Monday is literally the last day of that window. If they don't have my meds by Monday it sets me back a month. Right now I am in limbo off my meds waiting for them to come in. Very frustrating. I guess next time I will have to call and make sure they do their jobs. read more

I've shopped at this location for years and used to love it. However, since the recent remodel, management has apparently decided that they no longer need cashiers. I was there Sunday at 6 pm and there was only ONE cashier open with about 20 carts in line. Ridiculous. My food is melting. I'm so done with this location. This Fred Meyer is a mess but it's a lot to do with the area. I've had random people try to sell me stereo systems in the parking lot, ask for money and witness a couple of shady transactions in the parking lot. This area is BAD! I happened to need to use the restroom today and I decided I should probably stop there since most everything in that area requires you to be a customer to use theirs. I was in utter shock to see a sharps container in the restroom. I guess Kroger followed the King County path and wanted to ensure that their guests can shoot up in the restroom. read more
