When I entered the store my primary reason was to visit the cust svc counter but there were at least 7 people in line and only 1-2 people working the counter so I picked up a few items thinking the line would go down when I was done paying. It grew! When I left 10-15 mins later there were LITERALLY 12 people in line and still no more employees at the desk, 1 being on the phone so she couldn't help anyone in line anyways. Upon entering the store I walked past 3 red vest employees standing around laughing and chatting with each other, (another employee told me they were the managers) and thought for sure they would get more staff to get the cust svc desk line down. After I got my food and walked by them again on my way to the desk I saw the line GREW in the last 10 mins so I stopped to mention something to them. None of them acknowledged me standing there for at least 30 seconds, so I butted in and asked if they noticed the line at cust svc and 2 of the 3 wouldn't look at me or make eye contact and finally the 3rd said "yeah" and I was surprised because they didn't even care so I said "well don't you think they need more people over there? That line is ridiculous" and no one said anything and then the 3rd guy said "that's who we put on staff" and then turned around and kept chatting with his buddies! ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. If you knew this was a busy time you should staff more, not less. Managers should have the ability to jump in wherever, other stores I've seen them cashier or do whatever when needed. Or at least acknowledge the failure in judgment on their part, apologize, ask if they can help in any other way.....ANYTHING would have been better than the way I was treated. Guess that's not Fred Meyer's policy. 12 people in line? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? And then to completely blow off a customer like that trying to offer a suggestion? HORRIBLE. No wonder this store gets such terrible reviews. I won't be going back. This is why I always go to SAFEWAY. read more

I have been in recovery for over five years I have zero tolerance for the fact that people at places like this store in Interstate Portland are into nothing but following you around as though you're a thief instead of trying to help you when you actually need the help every time I ask somebody for assistance they ignore me but they have no problem following me around the entire store to make sure I'm not stealing from them which I've never done especially from the store I am new to the neighborhood and it is very frustrating pay more attention to your customers and pay less attention to the fact that you think that they are all thieves because of the neighborhood that you're in. I come in with my children And my girlfriend and I get treated as though I'm nothing but a scumbag little frustrating I would say. I understand that you guys probably deal with theft a lot and you have a reason to follow some people but I'm gonna let you know that some people aren't the ones that deserve that and if I ask you for assistance on where I can find rice why don't you help me next time. read more

The Interstate Fred Meyer parking lot is very dangerous. They made a huge mistake when they remodeling the store and removed the back parking lot plus adding a strip mall where they could have had parking?? Plus MAX riders possibly using the parking lot all day? When it's busy (anytime other than 7am when it opens) people drive like maniacs, speeding through the lot, racing for parking spaces. I see it all the time but unfortunately I did not see it 6 months ago when I was struck by a car in that parking lot. A women was racing to a empty space and didn't look where she was going and hit me, sending me flying. Broke my shoulder in 4 places, broke a tooth and damaged my eye. Does someone have to get killed before Fred Meyer will do something? read more

This store is a mile from my home & I have been shopping there for 15 yrs. I have tolerated the notorious bad attitude of staff, constant manager turn over because of decent prices & the convenience. But prices have skyrocketed the last 2 yrs. Produce selection & quality has gone way downhill. I spoke to the Manager who confirmed the store's sordid history with staff and acknowledged all of the price increases. To his credit he was honest. Basics I have bought forever have jumped $1-3 per item (yogurt, hair conditioner, veggies $0.5-$1.0 per lb. That is a lot in just 2 yrs. There are signs in the parking lot that says "not responsible for damage to and/or theft of contents or car". Take it literally. There are holes in the fence in the parking lot leading into shrubs where a transient encampment is located. While the lot says "customer parking only", vagrancy related vehicles, often without plates can be seen in the parking lot all the time. Also, drug activity and dealing in the restroom. I always feel uncertain about safety and security of my car at this location, because of those things. The only thing this location has got it is the location. Shop lifting has gotten so bad at this location that you'll actually see some pants and jackets threaded to cable lock. read more

I wish you could leave a negative star, but this Fred Meyer is a joke at least they're armed guards are I've never been treated more like a thief than at this location isn't it the good people that pay pay for their items and that don't steal from a business. There is a safety hazard at the front of the store obstructing free flow of traffic. Would not want to be stuck in there when it's busy if some kind of emergency were to happen. All safety concerns in my reviews are considered 1 star situations and must be remedied before any sort of edit to the review will occur. read more

It is necessary to Run a Gauntlet of Aggressive Panhandlers when either entering or leaving this store. When someone asks for a "Light" or wants to wash your car windows in the Parking Lot, It feels like a pretext for Assault or Robbery. I do not feel Safe at this store. read more

It's pretty sick, i'm here like 5 times a week for no reason. But the parking lot is a nightmare and it'll make you start yelling at things in your car until your girlfriend is pissed at you. Not quite as good as Target, but way better than Walmart. read more
