FREDDY!!! Where have YOU been all of my life?! Look at you just serving me up all of the goods and then some. Like a glorified Costco without the annual membership fee! Oooohh yaaas, I'm 'bout it, 'bout it! I came here to stock up on some items for a hiking trip to the falls. This was my first time ever visiting a Fred Meyer and I honestly had no clue what I was in for. This. Place. Is. GIGANTIC!!! They literally have any and everything that you could ever want and need! So many departments that it'll make your head spin. I easily spent an hour and a half in here when I intended to only stop in for 15-20 minutes to grab a few things. It actually threw a few of my plans off, but I was just so entranced. So, I walked in and BAM! I start walking down the aisle and what do I see? The makeup aisle! Correction: makeup AISLES! Holy sh*t! Their selection of drugstore makeup is no friggin' joke! I can't even get my Walgreen's or CVS to carry some of the makeup brands that this store has. And, they carry brands for women of color too!!! Y'all know how I girl and her makeup are. I spent too much time in this aisle... and wasn't even supposed to be there. I ended up going upstairs... yes UPSTAIRS where they have a full on clothing department. Found myself some discounted Nike apparel and scored big time. They also have a large toy section up there with tons and tons of toys for the kiddies. They have shoes and workout gear... hats, socks, local sports apparel. All of that good stuff! So, back downstairs I went to explore. They sell electronics! Large TV's, computers, all of that jazz. In the back of the store, I found an extensive bike and luggage selection along with several pieces of outdoor furniture. They have an entire section dedicated to camping essentials and they even have a place where you can buy Portland souvenirs! Their gardening department is pretty large too, and they had some excellent deals on their plants and flowers. I finally made it to the grocery side of the store and their prices are super reasonable aka CHEAP! They had nuts on sale for cheap, great prices on their produce and water. I was in Heaven! The only thing that I couldn't find while I was there was a plastic poncho. They had a fancy looking girly one, but I knew it wouldn't last so I didn't buy it. They may have just ran out but they associate tried his best to find them for me but couldn't locate any. Parking is pretty bad. I circled the lot about 3 times before I could find a spot. For a store this size, they should really invest in more parking spots. But I understand why it's so busy... look at all of the ish that they carry in this store! Amazing! If we had Fred Meyer stores in Cali, this would be my one stop shop for damn near everything!

Do yourself a favor, save yourself an hour, and don't, whatever you do, for the love of god, ever order a "create your own sandwich" here.

One stop shopping. No real issues with this place. Parking can be a hassle sometimes though.

Even more, you're making a decision to opt out of the consumerism that is largely landfill Amazon stuff. If you follow on Instagram, they'll show their "haul" for a particular date. I don't live nearby, so I'll often try to get there for one or two pieces they showed and find that even a day later the item is gone. They just sell stuff fast! This makes it hit or miss I wish they had multiple locations, perhaps one in Clackamas from our transition center? I imagine the intention behind this non-profit would be appreciated nationwide. Big dreams, I know. I believe the place is run by volunteers (or mostly volunteers), which is a beautiful thing. Outside they'll have pots and wrought iron items and furniture. Inside has crafting items and hardware, tools and kitchenware, more furniture and all sorts of goodies. It's smaller than a thrift store, which I appreciate because sometimes the huge places can be overwhelming. Ultimately, I recommend you visit. Maybe you'll find something, maybe not, but if you prefer well-made, older goods, you'll eventually find something you'll very much love.

They do have plenty of home goods but not a lot as far as clothes, skincare, cosmetics, shoes. Fragrances are pretty affordable and they receive a great range from moderately priced to designer. The cutest beaded summer bag with 2 lemons and bamboo handles caught my attention. Unlike some of the gaudier bags in this style, this particular bag was subtle, with just two lemons on a sand colored, beaded background. it's sophisticated and perfect for an upcoming trip to Italy in the fall, but no way I could wait until them I ripped the tags off in the parking lot and used it that night! My friends, the waitress, and another person at the restaurant complimented it! The bag is unique, stylish, and quite the "find" for $49. The clothing racks were full of many newer spring styles And I spent a lot of time in the dressing room trying on various outfits. So many of them worked, but I had to do a catch and release on a few because I have been buying a lot of clothes lately. I bought a beautiful white boho cropped spring sweater and a pair of wide legged pants, in a fun, beachy print, to go with. Found a two piece set in a light caramel color, perfect to wear in several seasons. The pants are fitted up top, but looser in the legs and paired perfectly with the crocheted knit top in the identical color. This outfit and the purse with lemons are definitely coming on my trip! Also bought a pretty pink athletic jacket and wore it immediately on my walk the next evening. The woman who was managing the dressing room was friendly and super helpful when I needed other sizes. It's such a pain to get dressed and go back out on the floor, so when she offered to bring me a different size, I was so grateful. My only complaint was they had a selection of maxi dresses hung on a low rack so all the bottoms were filthy. I'm not buying anything that is dirty and I'm unsure if it will wash clean. Definitely an area of improvement for the management. They didn't have as many food items as usual, and area I like to peruse for pantry items, but the housewares was completely stocked, as was the bedding and bath area. Lots of fabulous finds! Oh, and I guarded my cart because a friend told me that when she went to use the restroom, her cart went missing and she and the staff never found it. LOL. I Think a worker probably put the items back thinking it was abandoned, but I wasn't taking any chances!
