The store is further from me than Safeway or Albertsons but wanted to check it out. They were a few things on sale but the deli cost more than other grocery stores but the lady who helped me was super helpful, friendly and honest about food that had been sitting for a while and was about to be tossed. Overall the building is older, and it shows plus the bakery selection left a lot to be desired.

Most of the time they have very good produce here, and good prices, friendly and helpful employees here always makes it a pleasure to shop here! I love their bread they have, always get the bread here, and yogurt. Sometimes they have good prices other times not that great, so you have to watch what you get here. Knowing its a frozen bakery style bakery, I generally wont get bakery items here, since its all done at their central bakery and shipped here- which all the major grocery stores do. The main complaint I have, is the design of the parking lot, it's weird on how its design, like you enter between Burger King and Shell you cant turn left, or where Jiffy Lube is seems to confuse a lot of people, which is why i dont give this store a 5 star review.

Change is hard for me let alone my son as we are both Autistic but we try the best we can. The other thing is that they have Caroline carts here which is excellent for people with all kinds of disabilities. I honestly do appreciate the sharriff being here not so much for the they prevention but because they actually have been good to both me as well as my son. One of the deputies we see who wears a cowboy hat has always been very kind and understanding so I have taken it upon myself to say hi and have my son see him too. What I don't like is the poor conditions of the restrooms. They are outdated, poorly maintained. The fact that things that are locked up that shouldn't be and the things that should be aren't. There is also a cashier that we have dealt with a couple times has been very rude to us and apparently other stores and it has made us decide to go to a closer store that the wife does not like going to just because of this one cashier (I guess she was wearing a pink bandana but my wife doesn't know her name).

The store is massive, so a "quick stop" turns into a full cardio session just to find a single item on the opposite end of the building. The parking lot is always a complete disaster, no matter the time of day, and once you finally make it inside you'll notice they're perpetually understaffed. Checkout lines are painfully long, self-checkout is chaos, and somehow there's never enough open registers. I also wouldn't touch their meat or produce with a ten-foot pole. It's the textbook example of a massive corporation that prioritizes the bottom line over quality, efficiency, or customer experience. Convenient by name only. If you value your time or sanity, shop elsewhere unless absolutely necessary.

We had hose guests for the weekend and wanted some steaks, fresh fruit, bakery items, wine, etc. to show them a good time during their stay. The store is pretty well organized. I'm not a fan of lanes that end halfway through land you get stuck and have to backtrack. I usually stick to the outside of the store isles, so it's not usually an issue, but we needed toothpaste. We found some steaks with great marbling for a great price. The bakery section had a beautiful selection of items and we really wanted to try several things, but settled for a blueberry custard pie. The produce section is a little crowded, making it difficult to navigate when there are other shoppers, but the produce looks great. Decent selection of wines and beers. The dairy section looks a little hidden, but once you know where to look, it's no big deal. At checkout, we opted to self-checkout. Apparently, the computer hated us. We received amazing customer service from the gentleman working the area who laughed and joked with us while helping us out. He really made a great impression. It took everything I had not to look at the plants and flowers as we were heading out. The following weekend, I headed back to the same store, because I liked it so much. Picked up another bakery item and some produce items. Unfortunately, it was when I was trying to do more grocery shopping that I realized how many items the store doesn't carry. So, if you need things from the inner isles, not so great of a selection. If you need fresh things/real food from the outer areas of the store, you're going to be all good here. As before, had excellent customer service while I was checking out at the self-checkout. The woman walked over to ask me if I'd seen the note on the register about no cash and debit/credit only. I had not, but was using debit, so it was all good. It was nice that she was checking with people to make sure despite the notes as clearly they weren't super visible. She was being proactive. I liked that. I could hear her talking to her regulars checking out who clearly adored. When the regulars love you, you're doing something right.

Every time I go to the deli the staff is rude and slow, they intentionally ignore customers and pretend like they don't see you and unless they go up to them they will not give you service. I stood there for 3 minutes as they saw me and finally I had to ask if they were open. After they helped someone else who was at the counter after me. I have no idea what time they close the counter down but regardless if they are going to be customers facing they need to be able to have customer service skills. That being said, we travel to the Winco in Puyallup about 1-2 times a month. It is that good! Here's why: Hubby & I are disabled. It's important to us that the isles are wide enough for the electric carts & so we're not in the way of others coming through as well. The staff is cheerful, helpful & attentive (for the most part). For us the deli is the hub & Gloria is the best! We order multiple containers of salads & ceviche to take home. In comparison to the other Winco's, they are the BEST hands down! The pea salad is creamy & you can taste every ingredient in it. The bacon, the onion, the peas, the cheese & they meld together so good. In other Winco's, I'm sorry to say, I find them always lacking in something . The ceviche? Omgoodness! The awesome thing about this particular Winco is, they take the time to shred the crab meat. I don't know if that's a big deal for you but for us, we like to get meat in every bite of our crab salads or ceviche. The other Winco's leave big chunks of crab (to each his own) & you either get crab or salad ‍. Today when we went in, they we're out of ceviche. Gloria literally stopped making what she was making & told my hubby to come back in 15 min & she would have the ceviche ready for us. I've had other staff at other Winco's simply tell me they were out. Period. When I inquired if they could make more I was told it was against policy to do that . Thank you Gloria for going above & beyond! I could go on but I think that should cover why this is an exemplary Store. Thank you for listening. I just tell it like it is ...

Out of all fairness not being familiar with the store to find items really wouldn't be fair to deduct stars on. I was in here maybe once or twice and as to be expected in an unfamiliar store you can't find the product you enjoy right away but on the flip side when the arrangement of the store is different you also find things you didn't previously see from your favorite locations. And in the case of Tacoma Boys that really isn't an exception. But however I didn't like the arrangement in a different regard as it seemed like there were a lot of blind corners with the aisles here making possible collisions with other customers a greater likelihood and I am not convinced many people can control their shopping carts any better than controlling their cars. Which brings up the factor of congestion which is noticeably increased due to the mall and various other shops and business around here increasing the traffic volume and congestion a great deal. The Tacoma and Lakewood locations don't have this trouble nearly as much. The two factors mentioned above is what contributes to my star deduction. But still if you are close to this location and you are willing to put up with the volume of traffic then this is still a good grocery store to go to. The quality of the groceries, the produce is excellent and they have a good beer and wine section if that is something you want to explore.
