Filthy! The strong and offensive smell of old or rotting fish greeted me as I entered the store, so I wouldn't trust the sushi or seafood here. They obviously never think to clean their food seating area. Big sign says eat here, but it's so gross. How can they expect anyone to enjoy it? The Starbucks in store has no seating of it's own, either. I have shopped at many Fred Meyers over the last 30 years, but I have never encountered this degree of basic negligence. Until today, I had not set foot in a FM in 6 years...and now I know why. My recent experience at the Grand Central location can best be described as Kafkaesque. Walking through the door, you are greeted by security guards (that don't offer much "security"...more on that later) and have to go through "gates" to get in the store. I arrived at customer service with one person ahead of me, who had some issues that require one-half hour's worth of conversation. Staff did not call additional help. I finally asked an employee if they could open another register. I kid you not, she said to me, "we don't have enough employees" and sped off. A customer came up to the counter and told a staff member that there was a man in the parking lot who was slumped over his steering wheel with the engine running. She reported it to the "security guard" who told her to go to customer service!! The girl looked at her blankly and went back to helping the other employee. No call to management or 911. She finally overheard us talking and "called someone." And there you have it; the absolute LAST time I will shop in-store at FM. It is just too customer-hostile and dehumanizing. Even Target has started "niceness" training with its employees...like, how to show gratitude for the customers who keep your doors open. Anyway....I'm done. read more

But among those of us who still believe real scientists and medical experts, we find that vaccines are still the most effective way to stop from dying from a disease that would have quickly, soundlessly wiped us out a hundred years ago. And so it was I found myself at Fred Meyer's on Columbia House Blvd in Vancouver, WA. I needed two shots: an updated Covid booster (yes, it's still a *thing* out there...) and a tetanus shot. (What better way to remember a once-in-a-decade vaccine than to be able to say, "Oh, yeah, the last time I had a tetanus was when the Declaration of Independence had turned 250 years old...") I had the good fortune to be tended to by Pati, a pharmacy tech who's friendly, informative and efficient. I hate shots. But Pati chatted me up, got me to relax, and talked me through each poke like a yoga teacher. ("Take a deep breath... Now let it out slowly...") Pati has probably handled thousands of vaccines in her pharmacy career. I'm glad she was there to give me mine. Made the whole affair quick and painless. Thank you, Pati! This location has the SLOWEST pharmacy. The in store service, drive thru and phone service needs to improve. 30min wait time in the drive thru and 25min wait time when calling in is ridiculous. I never had this issue with Walgreens or CVS but cannot use them anymore due to change of insurance. read more

I dislike it when the parking is so far that you have to lug the heavy groceries across but this store has the biggest parking lot right out front . Very well stocked and maintained . They have a big selection for baked goods and local alcohol . The produce is fresh but however they do lack variety .A very big garden center with good choices is also another draw. I come here every day. It's a fine grocery store. I hope they know I'm documenting every single dog in their grocery carts that I see (almost every time) and reporting them to the health department. They have signs that say no pets allowed at the entrance but when you ask security why they let pets ride in carts *WHERE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PUT YOUR FOOD* they say they can't do anything. Most of the people who work at the Freddie's on McGillivray in Vancouver WA are friendly and helpful. Shawn Trimbow who's assistant manager told me that an employee complained about me because I don't say please and thank you to her. What a petty prima donna.He said that I should avoid using the check out lane with she is the cashier. I told him that her tone is abrupt and he told me to let roll off my back because that's her personality and she does that to everybody. When he said that he was scratching his nose with his middle finger it looked like he was flipping the bird. WTF totally weird. I will only come here when I get a really good deal. This Fred Meyer sells numerous expired products. Every single week, they sell me at least one expired product - no exaggeration. I have received expired produce, cucumbers, ground beef, bread, dog ice cream. If you order curbside, they will sell you the old, expired products. It is a health and safety issue. This has been going on since I started shopping there more than one year ago. No improvement, no change, no matter how many times I complain. Stay away. Disgusting. read more

If I could leave Zero stars I would! This is the WORST pharmacy. I have had multiple mistakes here. Including them having a computer "glitch" and releasing medication to which I had an allergy indication for. They called the next day asking if everything was ok with the medication. Thank god I was not deathly allergic to it! Then withholding medication for over a week because they said it needed prior authorization and in fact did not they said they don't carry it in stock and would have to order it and call me the next day when it was ready for pick up. I never received a call and was left on hold for 20 minutes because they never ordered it! read more

Yeah, it's been a while since I Yelped. Gee, I wonder why? I finally made it out of my home and on this day ventured to the Fred Meyer store that wasn't close to me. Not even sure why, but so glad that I did. I had gotten used to dirty, poorly staffed FM stores that make you want to get in and out as fast as you can even if there wasn't a global pandemic going on. But this Freddie store is different. Firstly, it's located in an upscale mini mall sort of spot with all kinds of other niche stores. The stores surround plenty of parking in a nicely green parking lot that is freeway adjacent. They even have EV charging stations. Once inside this rather large version of FM, it's refreshingly clean and filled with employees who actually seem to give a dam about the customer. Not only do the employees care, but they know their store and where to find what you're looking for. And where I had gotten used to the lack of needed products in my other FM stores (can anyone say Clorox wipes?), this version of FM seemed to be fully stocked, yes even down to the oh so necessary cleaning supplies and TP. It had all the regular departments but they shined a little brighter than I've ever seen in a FM store. They had fresh cut flowers and a wide variety of house plants that actually looked presentable and the usual clothing and shoe sections that once again, just felt nicer than any other FM store I've been to in the Vancouver area. There was even a mini Starbucks nestled into the store exuding those wonderful coffee smells. Even the clientele seemed nicer, every one appeared to be wearing their masks and keeping their social distance from fellow shoppers with polite consent. As I wandered thru the aisles of the store, I wondered why I had never been here before. Great store, good location, Blink EV fast charging outside (CHAdeMO port only, no CCS). Store has complimentary WiFi, Scan and Go and is fully integrated with the Fred Meyer app so you can see exactly which aisle number has the product that you need to find. Big parking lot. Clean store! Cannot think of a better store to do my shopping in. The only issue recently has been the flurry of non maskers in here, especially in the produce department. I have seen the employees cleaning the carts after people use them do that is good. This place always has what I need in stock which is welcomed too. Highly recommended! Easy to get too off of highway 14. during the spring time they have a large selection of annuals and perennials which is nice as well. The prices are decent and if you wait until towards the end of the season and you can get them for half off or so. read more

I like shopping at fred meyer no that Iam disabled I signed up for delivery service which is great. Butt the nearest fm in hazeldell doesn' carry one item I use alot--Cans of diet tonic water at this store other stores carry it. So for that item I have to shop at Safeway. which I have to make out a order of $35 or more to get a order in drive up and go which is no problem . It is just a pain makeing out 2 orders.A lot of started drinking tonic and a slice of lemon so now tonic water is out of stock 50% of the time.It just creates a lot of running around for me. read more

I frequent this location often even a couple times a day and I can't say good enough things about the employees here. They assist with everything and always seem pretty rad. One employee there literally helped me move furniture to the other side of the parking lot. I couldn't believe it, her willingness to help way out of her jobs expectations. I live close by so I shop here a lot.. almost everyday and I have spent lots of money here. However, whenever I am looking at clothes or shoes a sales associate named Marylyn (not sure on the spelling; she's an old lady with a short haircut) is BEYOND rude and creates an uncomfortable shopping experience. She never asks if I need assistance with anything and just sits there and stares at me when I'm browsing or trying on something in front of the mirror. For example tonight I was looking at the Adidas sandals because I saw that they were on sale and I had been waiting to get a pair for some time. As I walk over to the display, Marylyn follows me over there and that's totally fine.. the problem is when I'm looking for my size and trying them on, as well as looking at some flip flops, she stands there just staring at me, never asking if I need assistance. This happens every time I am in the apparel department and only by her. All of the other associates have always been nice and friendly when I have been browsing or have asked for assistance with something but every time I have asked her for anything, she is completely unprofessional and unfriendly, therefore I refuse to ask her for anything. I like to shop here because it's close to my house but I am tired of the unfriendliness. read more

A girl locked me out and explained that they were closed, and closed at 6:00 PM Christmas Eve instead of 11:00, so I went back to my truck and then saw that not only was it only 5:51 PM, but that other customers were being allowed through the same doors I was turned away from. In general this store is okay. Not my favorite Fred's (but that's more because it is becoming more and more run by Kroger, not the old Fred's I liked). Although, during the first part of COVID guidance, Fred Meyer stores were very lax about following the guidelines in an efficient manner. Compared to several other grocery stores (like Trader Joes, Chuck's, Safeway), this Fred's and HazelDell Fred's, were very lax in enforcing masks and physical distancing; this has gotten better, or perhaps the general public has gotten better with the face coverings, but physical distancing was not, and still is not enforced, or guided well. We are not out of this yet. I would like to see every other aisle marked with one-way directional signs, then at least everyone is going in the same direction and not running into each other. I do not go into aisles that are crowded but many others do. We all need to shop with more awareness of those around us. Be kind, courteous, and not so rushed. I still notice people that are not PROPERLY masked (clear plastic shields are not masks and do not provide protection). And, Fred's has the green light to say that without face coverings and physical distancing, shoppers cannot shop here! read more

This is one of the newest stores in the Fred Meyer chain. The coffee bar is a Peet's Coffee. They offer a punch card. As for Fred Meyer itself, if you're from somewhere else in the country imagine a WalMart "supercenter" store but done a little better. Fred Meyer has more national name brands in shoes and apparel, a similarly sized electronics, garden, hardware, home furnishing and drug department to any other 'hypermart.' The groceries are usually priced a bit below the market average, including at this store. The grocery department is also full-service, including a well-stocked deli and sushi and meat and bakery counters. The "Natural Choices" (nutrition center) section at this store is decent sized with a large bulk bin area. If you have young children, Fred Meyer provides a place for you to temporarily drop them off (Freddy's Playland) while you shop. I'm sure this must be nice for parents that don't want to hear the cries of children requesting the latest super-advertised product. This is also a newly built shopping center with a variety of dining options and a few service-oriented businesses surrounding the store. Fred Meyer has an in-store U.S. Bank branch. read more

With one exception, when living in St Johns years ago there were two on Lombard, one closer to I-5 was "scary" Fred Meyer since weird people would approach us at that one. But I digress.... This Fred Meyer is a good stopping place between my kids daycare and home since the one real close to home is being remangled... uh, I mean remodeled. First thing I noticed here was a large cache of Race Car Carts. One Race Car Cart is worth a good extra half hour of nearly kid-free shopping! Only downside to a Fred Meyer Race Car Cart is it is L A R G E, it's like pushing a Buick through a grocery store! We stepped in through the double doors and I just stopped. It was sparkly clean. I saw produce nicely arranged. The floor was white, not dirty white. Employees were smiling. I'd swear a small shaft of heavenly sunshine glinted in my eye. I wandered the store in wide eyed wonder, through the deli, past a wonderful cheese and anti-pasto display, through the meat section and on into neatly arranged grocery store shelves. Certainly this was a fluke, a bastard step-child to my typical Fred Meyer. What always brings it down to earth for me are the Fred Meyer prices. Somethings are a great deal here, others not so much, you have to be careful about what you get here. I have been back a few times since and never cease to be amazed by this one particular Fred Meyer. What a treat. read more

This is currently my go-to Fred Meyer. Fred Meyer's aren't perfect, but they do exceed in the category of 'pleasing most people most of the time'. I appreciate that they carry many organic products, not only limited to food items. I just discovered organic socks here! However, the fancy organic socks are mingled in with the rest of the conventional socks and I wish their organic and natural food section was mingled in with the rest of the store as well. It's frustrating to have to look for an organic option of something, realize they don't carry anything, and then locate that same section in the larger store and find a conventional option. Or, if you want to compare options, you have to walk back and forth multiple times. This is not efficient and a major reason why I don't purchase large amounts of groceries here. I've found good home items here, such as a large wooden mirror on clearance or my beautiful teal watering can. I've also found decent gifts, although it can be quite the hunt. This particular Fred Meyer is in a good location. Easy access to 14. Close to the best coffee place in Vancouver, Thatcher's. Multiple food options nearby. read more

Fred Meyer's has the WORST online food delivery service in the US! On Sat. 2/13 at 1:10PM, I ordered groceries and was promised delivery by 6:10 PM. At 5:10, I was texted that the delivery was moved to 6:45 PM and an apology. No groceries. I texted. I e-mailed. Finally, a text at 10:22 PM stated I would have a delivery Sunday morning 7 -1PM with the first car available. Nope. I texted, I called, I e-mailed. NO RESPONSE. Today, Monday 2/15, I called again. Spoke with Nala. Someone postponed my order to 2/16 and didn't have the human kindness to let me know. I cancelled the order. Although they gladly took my money on Saturday, it could be until Wednesday before I get my refund. NO explanation. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This review is solely for the pharmacy which I visited on 9/8/2020. After walking in to get my flu shot with my dad we were excited to see no line. We were waved by Sherri a technician in the pharmacy to the window and she just said "Yes?!" and appeared to be bothered we came in. We explained we were there for the flu shot in which she proceeded to roll her eyes and step away from the window and exhale loudly showing frustration. We asked if maybe we came at a bad time and if we needed to make an appointment - trying to maybe figure out why we were greeted as such and if maybe we weren't following protocol. She very passively slammed away at her keyboard while rudely asking us DOB and names. When I said my first name before my last she rolled her eyes and asked for my last name first. Sorry Sherri! Hard to know the proper way to answer without any prior direction.She then shoved some paperwork for us to fill out and when we returned it she accused me of taking her pen. I can't make this up! After getting our shot we spoke with the pharmacist and she assured us that was unacceptable. I tried to remind myself that Covid has obviously been a strain on many essential workers, however this was just flat out rude treatment from Sherri. read more

This is a great Fred Meyer. It's clean, has everything that you'll ever need..AND plenty of parking no matter how packed it is. The aisles are wide and everything is where it should be. It's a nice store and the people are very friendly. The open space makes it a little less overwhelming during the busy times during the weekend and afternoons. As I say with all Freddies...they *always, always, always* have cashiers at the check stand and the longest I've ever waited in line there, even since I was a kid, is 10 minutes tops...and it's usually at the fault of the customer. Cashiers are always fast here, unlike other grocery stores where they'll wait until there is 30 people in line to call one more cashier! I just love it. One of the main reasons we select Freddies when shopping. My *only* beef with this Freddies is actually going to sound a bit ridiculous, but if you've experienced it, you'll know what I mean. I think they strive to go SO far above and beyond here with customer service that it starts to become a little overwhelming for the customers. The first few times I went after moving out here, I was bombarded literally every 5-7 minutes by an associate asking me if I was finding everything OK. Granted they're just doing their jobs, I started to feel a little paranoid. I told my husband and he didn't believe me...and not more than 2 minutes after that, we got bombarded! So, don't get me wrong, I really do appreciate it, but sometimes I just wanna roll in and out of Freddies with my grease stained t-shirt, ripped sweats, and gross fake Ugg slippers and dread the impending work week without 10 people being in my beeswax! =P read more

**UPDATE** Fred Meyer still sucks. I went there to buy Christmas decorations because the traffic at Jantzen Beach Target was insane. Their tacky, decades-old decorations made even my Grandma's taste -- and this is a women who had a non-ironic aluminum tree in the '60s -- look like Martha Stewart by comparison. I didn't buy anything. But since I was in the store I bought a loaf of white bread because nothing's better for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches than fresh, soft white bread. I choose a loaf with the latest expiration date, get it home and sure enough, the frickin' slices had already turned stale at the edges. Every. Thing. They. Sell. Is. Crap. **Original post** I shop there because it's close to my house, but every time I go I get frustrated, and not just because of the overwrought music in the background. (If you like "American Idol" singing, you'll love shopping at Fred Meyer.) It's because despite its size, the selections and quality are just crappy. You can't really get artisan bread unless it's the Fred Meyer brand, which sucks. The bakery items are stale and congealed. (Whole Foods has spoiled me when it comes to delicious baked goods.) The produce and deli standards are lousy: The strawberries I bought were covered in mold the next day and the grapes weren't ripe. The potatoes in the deli potato salad were undercooked and hard. They hardly have any specialty foods -- it's mostly ordinary mass-marketed stuff. If you want chocolate sauce for ice cream you're stuck with Smuckers or Hershey's. I don't know if the buyers are following some lowest-common-denominator dictate or the store just doesn't have any quality control -- maybe it's both. But considering how far grocery stores have come in the past 10 years it's surprising to see such mediocrity in a brand-new store. It gets two stars because you can buy everything from flip-flops to motor oil, and because of the automated check-out, which means I never have to wait in line and listen to Daughtry. read more

This is for your "Peets coffee and Tea". It's no where close to the service of a real Peets. I ordered a simple iced chai late. Which consists of ice, chai tea, chai sauce and milk. When I was handed my drink I got something that was blended ... Fluffy and no flavor. Being a regular at peets in Vancouver I knew what a chai was supposed to taste like and look like. So I questioned her the gal said "that's how this peets makes it" no. No it's not. She then turned away and tended to the next person without even asking to remake it. Mean! Then hubby (because he is perfect) taught her how to make what I wanted ... Which was an ice chai. Thank you hubby, no thank you peets in Freddy's. read more
