This outlet mall has never been a destination for me like Woodburn Outlet Mall is - Woodburn has 20X the number of stores - but since I am always driving the Hood River to Portland route, it's definitely worth a stop.

It's reminded me of a Super Walmart just way more organized. Everything is where it was suppose to be. Really how many times have you walked into a Walmart and found a rubber ball in the bread department or a pack of frozen hamburger defrosting in the can soup section? People just don't think. I looked to find things out of place and didn't see anything. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm saying there was so much staff that it taken care of right away if needed. Aside from the food, there's a craft section, an auto section, a hardware section, a garden section, well you get the idea. And this particular Fred Meyer is the smaller one for the area. THE SMALLER ONE?!?!?!? Overall four stars. This place has everything. I'm not giving five stars because I wasn't here long enough to really justify it. But it's close to being there. This outlet mall is conveniently located right off I-84 exit 17 (Marine Drive / 257th Avenue) in Troutdale, Oregon. Troutdale is a suburb of Portland. The two cities are about 16 miles apart and both are located in Multnomah County. The outlet mall is about halfway between Portland and where we hiked (Wahkeena Falls). Great location for what we needed. Columbia Gorge Outlets is one of the smaller outlet malls I've visited. The size and look of it is more akin to a typical American suburban shopping center than a sprawling outlet mall. In terms of appearance and amenities, it was pretty standard. Before heading out, a few of us used the restrooms by the mall's offices on the south side of the property. Overall, the property was clean and expectedly peaceful and quiet during our visit on a Friday morning around 10:38am.

That is not what you say to your customers. She was not welcoming at all, and made everyone in line uncomfortable. As someone who has worked in customer service, it is just bad service to communicate with your customers that way. I shop here frequently and I expected a higher level of customer service.
