Fred Meyer really is one-stop shopping. You can pick up food, flowers, clothes, shoes, furniture, plants, etc etc etc. I think the only thing they don't do is auto service while you wait, but I'd like to throw that in the suggestion box! I really like Freddy's. I've been to many locations since I was a wee one. Their produce is always looking good and they also have organic options. Meats are very good but can be a bit pricey. I want to recognize the jeweler at this store. My 25 year old wedding set needed the channel sets (for 7 diamonds) retipped. It had been done once before and the original detail of the setting had been lost, sort of washed over the crisp edges, but a well known local company. Also, the cost of repair had risen to $600, so I put it off a long time, only wearing the rings for special, low risk events. I picked it up from the Fishers Landing store last week and couldn't be happier. The crisp shape is back, the diamonds gleam and it looks new again. AND it was only $300. I know the cost of gold affects repairs, but couldn't believe I could get it fixed so reasonably. Thank you, thank you, thank you. read more

I was that brave sole.... I had a full basket and got in the line with the person in training.... How did this turn out you might wonder? Welp it turned out excellent. Person in training was very new but Fred Meyers taught her well. Very friendly and calm. Store is very large and very clean. This has to be the nicest fred Meyers I've ever been in hands down!!! I've never felt the need to review chain stores like Fred Meyer, but this one is an exception. The McGillivray Blvd Fred Meyer provides an exceptionally friendly shopping environment and a mind boggling array of ingredients for vegan dishes. When I once forgot my car keys at another store and was left stranded, these guys let me use their phone to call up the nearest locksmith. They always make sure I'm not waiting too long in the checkout queue and help me out even at the self-check counter. The girl in the Nutrition Section and the guy in the produce section are especially friendly. And when they once ran out of roasted almonds for the almond butter, the guy in charge offered to chop up some almonds from another packet and put them in the grinder for me! Quite often you can see the manager walking around making sure everyone is finding everything okay. It's incredible, the lengths they go to to make sure their customers are happy. For all you vegans out there, you get a ton of ingredients for your dinner here - nutritional yeast, avocados, almond butter, all sorts of organic vegatables, coconut milk ice cream, tofu, the list is endless. This shop was one of five or so reasons I decided to extend my apartment lease for the second year. Keep up the good work, guys! read more

I have a weird love for nice markets/grocery stores. I have been to a few Fred Meyer's and they have been good - this one is really good though. So big and has everything you could want. I love health food and they have a really good section for health food and products. This place isn't your typical grocery store though - it is more like a department store or a higher scale Walmart. So DISAPPOINTED with the jewelry center in Fred Meyer! Not all of us can afford to pay cash out right on personal expenditures..So when a pretty little piece of jewelry caught my eye we mozzied on in.. the CSR explained how easy the financing options were AND what our terms were for paying off the piece within the promotional period (90 days) so we jumped in with both feet! $1200 within the promo period _Yeah! Soo we thought... got online to check our statement seen a discrepancy of $300 add'tl dollars when we called the in-house finance company they use we were told that they were charging us taxes.. I asked HOW can you NOW charge us taxes.. the purchase was exempt from taxes as well as our contract was still within its' promo period.. I stated to her wouldn't that nullify my receipt of purchase ...contract..? Her reply.. "We can charge you anything we want.. if you want to own the piece of jewelry you'll pay it OR end up paying the full price of it because then you will fall outside of the promotional period!" This store I can get gas, food, and clothing all from one place, this place also offers organic produce witch I love to see when it comes to a food store. The inspiration behind the theme is that our GM owns a Christmas tree farm and she captured that perfectly. 2 starts because of employee experience. Now I know that this isn't Trader Joes or New Seasons ... so I don't usually expect a lot when I go to other places - but I DO expect employees to be kind. I have shopped at this location before and after the remodel. Before the remodel I shopped at this location more often as my section of choice is the whole foods/natural section. Take on one research paper at the U and it turns your whole food view on its head. Anyway, after the remodel they don't seem to carry as much in this section. It's a small change. There are only about 500 less square feet dedicated to the natural foods section. However, when the total amount dedicated to this focus is already about ten percent of the store if I'm lucky, every bit snagged for another section is a hit. The produce selection suffers most here. I can find better produce selection at either the Columbia Blvd or the 117th location. I only hit this one if I'm heading over to Trader Joe's for shelf items and Freddy's is having a sale. They do have a great rewards program and I like that this location now has gas. I probably give Freddy's at least half my grocery money every month. They are great for those of us who want to keep our family healthy and moving yet don't want to pay exorbitant organic foods only store prices. I want to support a healthier earth but I have to stick to a budget. Freddie's helps me do this. I hope more ppl realize they can buy more efficient produce and goods for a decent price if they just shop here and a couple of other local joints; and always remember your local farmers market. You can't get more whole food and local community than your local farmers. Vancouver has two now! read more

I ordered my groceries through the fred meyer clicklist (which I've done probably 50 -75 times before) at the Mcgillivray location in Vancouver, Wa on July 2nd. They put the majority (i thought) of my groceries in the bed of my pickup, which is covered. When I got home and checked off everything I saw that they did not give me almost $ 60.00 worth of groceries, frozen food, cheese, bacon, paper towels, I was charged for it all and didn't get any of it. I called them immediately and was told that the manager had left and they could do nothing for me and they would have the manager call me in the morning. I waited about an hour after they opened and I called. I spoke with a woman who said she was in charge, I went over my list of the items i didn't get. She put me on hold to see if she could find my missing groceries, she didn't, I think another shopper received lots of free stuff. She asked if i wanted a credit or a refund, i wanted a refund and gave her my last four of my credit card. She said i would get my refund in 5 to 10 days. I wrote a feedback email going over this issue. This woman didn't apologize for the inconvenience and she came across snippy to me. I've received nothing. I filled out a contact form on July 14th, asking where is my refund. Nothing. This is the third time in the last couple of weeks that I have used clicklist at Fred Meyer at mcgillivray and have not received my full order, the first time i didn't even bother to complain i know mistake happen, the next time I complained and got a refund of the items i didn't get and this third time I am livid. I am not livid that a mistake was made, I am livid at the horrible customer service I have received, thus far. If they don't have competent people working in the clicklist, there are plenty of competent people looking for work. I am going to continue to complain and contact them etc until I get my money and the tax i paid on the groceries i didn't get. I don't plan on using the clicklist at Mcgillivray again. If you use clicklist. Don't leave until you have gone through every bag etc and check it off and don't leave until they make it right. Maybe if there clicklist spaces are all filled up with people checking their groceries they maybe more careful. If you need to do a grocery pickup, i would recommend walmart. They don't charge for the service and the one time they have missed an item, I was credited immediately. read more

The produce section of the store just reduced the organic vegetable area by half. I'm Definatly not happy about that. Many consumers don't want to eat produce coated with pesticides and herbicides that are petroleum based and will NOT fully wash off the produce. Just went into Fred Meyers and I am blown away by my recent experience there. I usually shop there ~ 3+ times per week and I'm feeling seriously discriminated against. Upon leaving the store, I was stopped because their faulty alarm system went off when I walked through. Out of the 5 other ppl leaving at the same time, the clerk chose to stop ME. Why? I'd like to think that it's not because I was the only Hispanic leaving at that exact moment but, I have no other reason. As she rummaged through all of my grocery bags in front of store and grabbed my receipt, I asked her why she chose to stop me instead of one of the several others that were also leaving and she dismissed my question by saying that the 'alarm just always goes off'. Uhhh, what!? It's not like me to ever play the victim or the 'race' card but after being humiliated in front of the store, I'd be stupid not to consider it. Too bad because I used to really enjoy shopping there. Particularly concerned with there jewelry department. Charged me $100.00 do fix a gold cross. Said it would be done In 2 weeks after 3 week no call I just walked in and asked about it. The lady said I'm in luck they just finished it. After looking at the work you can clearly see that it was done in a matter of seconds and wrong after I complained and the lady told me to come back in half an hour and they had a whole new piece soldered on which and what should have been done in the first place. I was at this Fred Meyer to pick up a prescription and wanted a weekly ad paper. My experience with ad papers at this store have been, that during the middle of the week, the stands where they can be found have only sections of the complete sets, so I walked to Customer Service to pick one up. In the past, they placed these sets on one corner of the desk and I was told to just grab one. On 8/13 around 4:30 pm there weren't any customers at the CS desk when I walked in, the CSR was doing something else, so I walked to the middle of the desk to see whether I can find a paper, lots of but they are hidden, so I asked the CSR for one and she told me to get one from the stand at the end of the desk. Couldn't understand why she wouldn't just hand me one. I went to the stand & saw 4 or 5 sections of the ad paper that don't have the section I want. At that time the CSR was helping someone and I waited patiently. Then more people were in line, just to get her noticed that I'm waiting in the middle section of the desk I told her there weren't any complete sets and she answered with a disdain laugh "I am helping the gentleman here" and they both burst into laughing (I'm not a tall white Caucasian male like the one she's helping). This used to be my favorite store, NO MORE, will move my prescriptions to Costco and plan to shop more at Chucks (good Customer service and always plenty of ad papers available) and buy other needs from Amazon.com from now on. read more

I'm RAGING today I visited my local Fred Meyers to get some French bread to make myself a damn sandwich. Get to the bakery department, and there's no French bread. oK. So I asked the bakery lady how long until they make more and she said 20 mins. But I was already there so I spent 20 of my damn minutes that I could've spent at home already eating my sandwich, picking out a fuckin glade air freshener while I waited for bread. 20 minutes pass and I walk over and there's still NO BREAD. 5 mins later the lady walks out with one, you heard me right ONE loaf of bread. I ask her if they're going to make anymore and she said no. Yo she has me fucked up if she think imma let it slide that she let me wait for 23 minutes for one loaf of bread. First of all, this is the store where I always shop and usually am very happy. My complaint is with the Deli. I went today, Saturday at 11:45, to pick up a deli sandwich. They have an order form, which I filled out. Roast Beef and Swiss on Sourdough with mayo & mustard, lettuce and tomato. Not difficult. After getting out the meat & cheese the girl disappeared. After several minutes she came back and asked me if I mind if the bread is frozen? Of course I do. So she said she could make it on wheat - - that would not do. For God's sake the next department is the BAKERY. She said they can't use the bread from the bakery, it's a different department. Finally she found a baguette and I decided that would probably be ok. Needless to say my husband was very disappointed when his sourdough sandwich was a baguette when I got home! He said thank you to me for my effort but that the sandwich gets an F. At lunchtime on a Saturday their Deli area should be fully stocked and ready to go. read more
