Pepperoni pizza

Swung by today for pizza. I wasn't aware it wasn't a sit in restaurant so that was a bummer but we still ordered a pizza and the employee offered to bring it out to our car which was nice. The pizza was good and freshly made.

Great pizza. My friends and I ordered a large pepperoni pizza for girls night. We were in Germantown and the pizza was there in about 20 minutes. The pizza was still a good temp, even in the cold weather!

I was greeted immediately upon arrival and didn't need to wait at all. There was an older gentleman who was quick to help us with whatever we needed. The cheesesteak was so yummy. I loved the bread. It was full of meat and cheese, but it needed more mayonnaise. I wish it had more of those delicious mushrooms and onions too. The pizza itself was also delicious. When I first saw it I was concerned about it being burnt, but it wasn't. It was nice and crispy but not bitter at all. The onions and peppers had some yummy char on them.

I love Freddy's Cannolis they have some of the best tasting Riccotta filling in town & the price at $6.50 each is a very good price compared to those restaurants which charge more. The cannoli shells outside taste good & crisp too. The wings are another story. And I am from Buffalo so I know what good, bad and MEH chicken wings taste like. Freddy's wings I would NOT order again. MAJOR MEH!!:(:( I am sure that these wings must have been flash frozen & with a breading which tastes like a slight commercial coating before these wings are flash frozen from a food supply distribution service warehouse. I wish that I had taken a better picture because most of those wings were deep fried for too long. Thus-- those cooked & finished wings were presented to me on delivery SHOWING UP that they had a BURNT over-done coating on them, AND I KNOW THIS because of the stringy quality of the chicken meat coming off of the bones, I could tell that it was not fresh chicken on those bones, and it tasted frozen because of that dried out stringy texture. My DOG would NOT even eat the chicken meat & passed on it, & he is always begging for people's table food. So those chicken wings HAD to be FLASH FROZEN. And I ordered GARLIC WINGS. I did NOT order BLACKENED wings with sauce ON the SIDE in SECONDARY FOOD SUPPLY CONTAINERS of GARLIC SAUCE!:( THAT DESCRIPTION & PICTURE ON the DOOR DASH MENU or CALLING those WINGS FRESHLY MADE GARLIC WINGS IS A MISLEADING & FALSE DESCRIPTION to ANYONE ORDERING FOOD FROM FREDDY's VIA DOOR DASH WHO WANTS WINGS MADE FRESHLY in a RESTAURANT ON DOOR DASH. I COULD HAVE JUST ORDERED WINGS from A GROCERY STORE LIKE GIANT, FOOD LION, WEISS or SAFEWAY IF THAT POOR TASTELESS BURNT QUALITY IS WHAT I WANTED & I WOULD NOT HAVE WASTED MY GOOD MONEY WHICH I NEED & I WOULD NOT HAVE PAID/SPENT OVER $20 WHICH WAS A MAJOR RIP OFF!!:(:(

Best pizza in the DMV with genuine, family-owned quality cooking and customer service. This is my literal happy place. I haven't had bolognese this perfect since Botanero closed down. Their entire menu is incredible. We're talking about melt in your mouth but stringy mozzarella and piping hot food - even with delivery!!! Freddy and his crew of gentlemen were so incredibly hospitable and sweet that not only did they accommodate a special order so I can evangelize the store to friends but they didn't even allow me to carry as a much of a single cannoli by myself. You can truly tell that they take pride in their service and quality. Don't cheat yourself out of one of the best meals ever and try their four-cheese pizza, bolognese, and lasagna.

Large Garlic sauce, light feta and spinach is the bomb. Next time I'm going to get the 2 larges 2 toppings for $25

Generous toppings that actually covered the entire surface of my small pie. It didn't really stand out to me and was comparable to other pizza joints. I would have preferred more sauce on it. Since they only do carryout or delivery perhaps it would have gotten an additional star if it was still warm when I ate it. Staff was friendly as I was acknowledged upon arrival. If dining in were an option I would return so that I could try out other menu items, but unfortunately it isn't an option.

Meat Lovers Pizza * X-large 16" $23.49

This place is a hidden gem, serving some of the best pizza and food that I've had in moco. I got the meat lovers pizza, bbq chicken pizza, and the fettuccine chicken Alfredo. The pizzas were great and topped off nicely, they actually care about the food you are ordering and you can 100% tell. The bbq chicken pizza was my favorite of the two pizzas but like I said before both are great. The fettuccine chicken Alfredo thoroughly surpassed my expectations because usually pizza restaurants and most Italian restaurants (that I've had) tend to have mediocre to bad pasta but Freddy's is special. The fettuccine chicken Alfredo was very good, it was creamy and was a decent portion of food. I would definitely return and recommend to all. This place is worth it and deserves more attention, plus you would be supporting local small businesses which is always good.

The food was front and center and the star of the show was the wild mushroom appetizer. I will be coming back for those - mushrooms, artichokes, fig, and goat cheese ... all in a flavorful broth (like how mussels are prepared ) and they leave a piece of bread in the center to soak it all up. Incredible. We also had the salmon, eggplant, and crab ravioli and all the entrees were a home run. Service was immaculate. Every time someone finished a plate - they were right behind us ready to clear. Went back a week later for those mushrooms! Got a pic this time. Chicken was overcooked but a solid healthier option.

Both entrees came with a cold, fresh side salad with a tangy Italian dressing. The entrees were very good. The salmon had a nice char, but was moist and flavorful. If you like salmon with a sauce, you'll be disappointed. I like mine simple, and this is a well-prepared salmon. The shrimp (3 large) were good. The spinach had a nice garlic flavor and the asparagus was well prepared - not mushy. The chicken Marsala also was good. The Marsala was light (not thick) and somewhat sweet. Very good. Honestly, the bread service was pretty disappointing. Our last visit the bread was fine, but this basket was pretty dried out and almost seemed stale. The oil accompanying the bread had almost no cheese in it. Essentially, you dipped tasteless bread into oil. Really disappointing. I'm not going to reduce my overall restaurant score for this one thing (because the entrees were very good), but the bread service was not good. The service was good.

Any Marylander of the Boomer and GenX generation knows about O'Donnell's RUM BUNS. I used to come here with family back in its heyday and these were served table side before our meal. How crazy is that, a nice lil somewhat sinful dessert BEFORE some MD crab?! Those were the days! The rum buns are more nostalgia more than anything, I wouldn't say they'll blow your socks off, but hey, nostalgia is nostalgia. Well, I'll need to dine in here for a full and complete verdict, but my quick grab and go visit was a tad chaotic. Service for taking orders could improve - you walk in, there's a seafood counter to your left, bakery counter to your right (both were unmanned when I walked in) and in the middle is a deli section with the cash register where I assume they take orders. We stood there for a few good minutes before getting anyone's attention despite the fact a manager asking staff (not customers) if everyone was being helped. Clearly staff did not know who was waiting to check out, take orders or just waiting for their orders to arrive. So it was just weird. No one greeting you as you walk in either, it just also weird because there's no clear line anywhere you stand. Otherwise, rum buns were as I remembered them. Also picked up crab dip and chicken salad from the grab and go section from the back and they were just ok, not bad, not great. So will come again for a future visit hoping to have a much better meal and experience!

And then, they were out of all of their frozen drinks as well as their tequila watermelon cocktail (which was disappointing because this was all we wanted to order drink-wise). This one was pretty good, but I do have a quibble; the crust was much denser than Detroit style crust usually is. The height of the pizza was about 2/3 of the usual height of a light and airy but thick Detroit style crust, so I am not sure if this dough just didn't rise properly or if PM does their crust differently. I don't personally care for heavy thick crust so this isn't a deviation I particularly care for. That said, I did like the robust sauce and the cheese, toppings were sufficient though not exceptionally generously applied. I recommend getting hot honey on the side if you want that, it was less noticeable pre-applied, though I could taste it a little. The pop up is colocated with Corned Beef King and there is a picnic table for when the weather is good but it is primarily takeout. Food was ready ontime so I was in and out super quickly. If you don't mind a heavier crust you should give them a try. I'll probably be back when hubs wants a Detroit style and we don't have time to drive to Frederick where the best one I've found in MD can be had, but tbh just one slice sat like a brick in my tummy.
