We tried the pizza here tonight and it was delicious. Our go-to pizza place I think changed owners and they no longer have anchovies!! WHAT... just shocking, the sign of not a great pizza joint. So I went to Yelp and found Milanos and was not disappointed, they claimed NY style pizza and I have to say it was really very good, nice crust and marvelous sauce and of course fresh anchovies! Firstly, the Monday deal is amazing. However, I think they could cook their pizza a little longer. It just seems a little undercooked, but they're also banging out pizzas 20 minutes at a time which is great. I only get takeout so I can't say anything about the ambience but my only critique is to cook the pizza a little longer. read more

By far the worst pizza restaurant with horrible customer service. My fiancé and I ordered the 'family deal' which consisted of 2 Large 2-topping Pizzas, 8 Piece Buffalo Wings and a 2L soda. We also decided to add a Cannoli and Garlic Knots to the order. The entire order came out to a whopping $65.60 (photo attached). Upon receiving the food, we noticed that the Garlic Knots were quite literally, plain bread bites, sprinkled with raw minced garlic. I immediately called the restaurant to inquire about why I received a bad order of Garlic Knots and how I could get my money back. Their immediate response was, "there is nothing we could do about that. This is how we make it". At this point I'm already very frustrated and tried to enjoy the rest of my food. When I opened the container for the chicken wings, we noticed that the wings were the poorest quality chicken wings I've ever seen (pictures attached). The wings also had a slight, unfresh smell to them that the restaurant tried to mask with the spicy sauce. I couldn't bear to eat the chicken after trying the first piece. The almost 6 dollar Cannoli ripoff was extremely bland and tasted like cardboard (photo attached). I highly advise everyone to stay away from this restaurant. The pizza was mid (5/10) and the crust had no flavor leaving a lot to be desired. You're better off ordering from dominos. read more

I ordered wings and a pizza. As you can see, the wings were undercooked to say the least. I was obviously mad. Manager offered me a refund for my wings, not for the order, JUST THE WINGS. Needless to say I'm not eating the pizza or eating here again. I think there are two problems. One, please don't serve me food that could make me or my family sick. Second, if you do serve food that could make me sick, please just say sorry and offer me a full refund? Sad part is I loved this place. Went a lot for the Monday carry out deal. I know my receipt shows a small order but I don't think that should matter. Make your own decisions about eating here. I would at least check to make sure the boneless wings are cooked. read more

So I've been going to Milano's for a few years now and about 90% of the time I get a steak and cheese because it's delicious and has a very unique taste, I also get the fries and let me add that even when it's delivered they still are nice and crispy. I ordered from postmates and - guys - so bomb! I live in LA and I'm just visiting but I took a shot and the Alfredo pasta and the Quattro Formagii pizza was amazing! (PS. The ceaser salad came with KENS ceaser dressing in little packages on the side- cringe worthy. I thought I ordered a ceaser salad from an Italian spot, but I guess I walked in the grocery store and grabbed dressing off the self? So weird.) I liked this place. I ran by to pick up slices & a soda for lunch. They don't have slices for purchase but they have lunch specials available at a very reasonable cost. They have a Cheesesteak, Meatball sub or small pepperoni pizza & soda for $6.99 which is a very good deal. The cheesesteak was solidly good. It was an 8 inch toasted sub roll with lean beef, plenty of provolone, green peppers, red onion & LTM. It was flavorful & juicy. The bread was solidly good. The sandwich had just enough meat & fillings. It was not overly stuffed but just the right portion for the modest price. The lunch special sandwiches came with Tom's chips which were okay. It also came with a can of soda. The place is pretty small & takeout only. It has no area to dine in but several chairs to wait for your order. They do a pretty brisk lunch, delivery, & takeout business. The menu was varied. They offer an ample selection of appetizers, salads, pasta dishes & pizza. It was clean & the interior was pretty new. No music piped in anywhere. No bathrooms available for patrons. The staff were courteous, helpful $ efficient. They definitely are focusing on getting the food order correct & out to their customers ASAP. Overall, I thought it was a great little modest takeout pizza, pasta, sandwich place. The pizza shop is located right next to the Checkers on Shady Grove Rd. There is plenty of parking. I ordered through Yelp, and even though it was estimated to be an hour before I could pick up I decided to take a chance and pop in after twenty minutes and see if my order was ready, and they conveniently worked on it right away. I ordered a large cheese pizza and pizza fries. Nothing was out of these world, but it was tasty, I got my pizza craving out of the way and the service was solid. I probably wouldn't think of this place immediately, but if I'm passing by, then I might place a take out order again. read more

I've ordered delivery from here four times - fettuccine Alfredo w/&w/o chicken , pizzas, etc. Their Lemoncello cake is good but did not care for the Tiramisu. The food is good & reasonably priced for delivery. The portions are large - one is enough to share IMO. The Alfredo gets oily in the bottom of the container as it cools but if I transfer it to a new container I leave behind a lot of oil. I didn't like the Fettuccine Bolognese but probably my dislike had more to do with an aversion to the sauce rather than the dish recipe itself. The pizza was great! We recently got their NY Cheese Pizza, (Ricotta or Alfredo Cheese) + Spinach, and Chicken Ranch Pizzas. The pizzas were good as always with nothing to complain about as Milano's is one of the best pizza places in Shady Grove and in the area. During pickup there was a large amount of people waiting (in cars) with one or two people bringing the pizzas out to all the different people. read more

I've been ordering from here on and off for 2 years now. The pizza is about a 3 star quality when it's fully cooked. However the customer service is absolutely horrible. Not just the staff but the owner truly need to up their customer service. I have called to inform the business multiple times over issues with missing toppings and other issues which usually goes unresolved and I just accept their mistakes. However the order I placed last week will most definitely be my last. I ordered my usual order and the pizza we picked up was under cooked with everything sliding off of the slices. I had one slice and couldn't even finish it. The dough was gooey and it was nauseating to eat. I called the business and the owner answered. When I tried to explain the issue he responded saying we make the pizzas the same way every time and proceeded to direct me on what I should do differently next time I order. I told him there will be no next time and I'm returning the pizza and I wanted a refund. When I got there instead of apologizing for their poorly made pizza he proceeded to tell me I should request the pizza be well done next time. I normally ask for my burgers to be cooked well done. I didn't know I needed to ask for a pizza to be cooked well done too. He argued with me and went to the back when he didn't want to keep discussing the issue. Needless to say I truly will never spend another penny at this place. read more

So it's really sad I have to do this. I've ordered here numerous times- see picture just for this month for proof. I've always had wonderful service, expect for this week. It was over an hour when I called the store for an update. The lady was so rude, her response was "the driver left awhile ago." Now that response didn't make me happy because I already said it's been an hour. She wouldn't provide any helpful information, which made me respond with "I will call back if it's cold." Mind you when it arrived it was barely warm, I didn't even call, I let it go. Went to place and order this evening, and my number has been "blocked out of the system" so he hung up on me. I called back, he said not sure but your number is blocked, I said that's probably because I made the lady mad I spoke to. I asked for the manager to call me, can't wait to discuss this. I've worked customer service since I was 15 years old, and never would I handle a customer the way they've chosen to, and this is over pizza. I love love love their pizza! It is soo good! "New York" style. It's a little greasy but as my dad would say that's what makes it good. If you are contemplating ordering from them, just give it a try. The deliver is usually 45 minutes but if you management your time, you will live. The pizza always comes hot and fresh. I did order a chicken parmigiana this past weekend which was also really good! I think I'll probably stay with their pizza but I really liked both! Great place to order pizza. The 4 cheese white pizza is great. Not so good for subs. The sub rolls were so gooey with mayo they were inedible and the steak on the steak and cheese was all rolled up into balls giving a gag factor. Stromboli was big enough to feed two very hungry people. Wings and fries very good. Crispy wings and fries. Steer clear of the subs and you will be fine. read more

We ordered delivery through Slice last week, and the pizza was really fantastic. My address was slightly wrong in the Slice app, and that caused the delivery driver quite a bit of stress, because he couldn't find my house. He tried to call me at least 8 times, but his calls went straight to my voicemail and I didn't see them at first. Eventually I noticed all the missed calls, and I was able to flag down the driver. Great local Italian gem in between Rockville and Gaithersburg. The calamar and meatballs, salads were all excellent and fresh. The meatball diablo is very very dense but has a good sauce.
