Finally!!!! I've found the best pizza in Gaithersburg. I kept it simple and ordered the large (14") pepperoni pie. It was enough for both me and my husband. The flavor! Ugh, omg. The flavor is immaculate. It's definitely on the saltier side but bursting with flavor. The cost is unbeatable and it was ready quick for pickup. Disclaimer, it looks like a little house and there is convenient parking in the back. I deducted one star because it is slightly on the oily side. I'm so tired of barely acceptable pizza. Tonight I decided to try a different pizza place. And OMG I am sooo glad I did. My veggie pizza arrived quickly and hot with lots of veggies. The bread crust was crispy where it should be crispy and chewy where it should be chewy and not at all soggy or tough. The crust also tasted like crust! The veggies on top were crisp-tender and fresh. There was the right amount of cheese. There wasn't a hint of grease. The sauce was flavorful with hints of basil. Got the Supreme pizza. Some of the best pizza I've had in the area. Perfect amount of sauce,toppings and cheese. All the toppings were very fresh and even amounts of each. Crust was chewy and full of flavor. Also got the pasta carbonara for dinner next day. So glad I did. This is dish I usually judge Italian food no and they nailed it. Here's a question for you: Do you think that if people were 15-20 feet taller, would elephants replace dogs as man's best friend? While you think about that, I'll tell you that the pizza here is great, plain and simple. We usually order a Margharita pizza, but have gotten both pepperoni and sausage before. The sauce on the Margharita is an acceptable level of spicy vs sweet. The pepperoni is plentiful and not filled with grease, like, at all. It's so not greasy, the pizza boxes have absolutely zero grease spots in them. There are rarely any leftover slices when we order from here. They usually have the order ready and on its way within 15 minutes, even on traditionally busy nights. I will say that I've ordered the ravioli before and did not enjoy them. I'm no Gordon Ramsay, but it sure didn't seem to taste like it was fresh ravioli. It was kind of chewy and the sauce was incredibly generic with very little flavor. I'll give some other things a try at some point. At least the pizza is top notch and that's enough for me. read more

Delicious! We ordered a large pepperoni for two people and only managed to eat half over dinner, giving us two nice lunch portions for the work week. The pizza was fresh, still warm when I got it home, and very flavorful. Parking was a bit confusing - there's a one way sign at one of the entrances, and the traffic light takes forever to change so if you miss the entrance you're adding several minutes to your pickup time. Parking is located behind the building down a slight incline. A sign could improve visibility here, but that's not much to complain about. read more

How did I get here? I just wanted to try something new and my usual local chain place started slipping. Lackluster on the cheese, not always hot on arrival despite being just around the corner, sparse on the toppings, and just overall inconsistent in quality. I've come to expect this lack of emphasis on quality from regional and national chains. Enough about that. I started flipping through the local pie guys for other options and looking at pictures of the food, reviews, etc. I came across Freddy's with mostly positive reviews. Let me say this, I'm a pretty harsh pizza critic. Because I consider myself a fairly fit guy, I don't get to eat this stuff often. I try to keep my pizza intake to once or twice a month. So for me to take a chance with an untested pie is significant. I'd been pushed that far. I'm very pleased to say I went with Freddy's and that my risk paid off. When the pepp and sausage pizza arrived it was hot, the cheese was fresh and plentiful, the toppings were evenly distributed throughout, and it just looked like care was put into it's construction. The sausage was the flat style which was a welcome change. It also wasn't overwhelmed by overuse of garlic. One bite in I knew I had found my new pizza spot. The only thing I would do different next time is order extra sauce on it. That is more of a personal preference. They even ask how you want your pizza cooked. I was stunned. I can count on 1 finger how many times I've been asked that. Also, they were very friendly and the pizza arrived within a half hour with no delivery fee. The tip was bumped up just for the lack of delivery fee alone. I will definitely be ordering from Freddy's again and trying some of the other menu items such as the pasta and sandwiches. I read someone else's high rating of the chicken parm and that is my next target. Keep up the great work! read more

I was in town for my daughters hockey tournament I was super hungry and was craving some good pizza. I was looking for a place near my hotel that was not a chain and found Freddys on google search. I drove there and ordered a pepperoni pizza, it was done in 10 minutes or less and it was excellent. I'm originally from the Chicago area and eat more pizza than most people would dream of so I know what I'm talking about. The sauce was fresh, the crust was cooked perfect, (if you like thin crust like I do) and the pepperoni wasn't dripping with grease like most places. I don't know what this other guy is talking about, the place was totally clean yeah it's small but it was well taken care of. And then this other guy who says a lunch lady could make better pizza? I bet you like to eat the square pizzas and put ketchup on your hotdogs, forget about it. Freddy was a super nice guy and very hospitable. I decided to eat there and continue the conversation Freddie and I were having, as we shared stories and both agreed what a great country we have and how blessed we are to live in it.
