We got several quotes from other companies that were not insured properly. The crew showed up on time and worked non stop on a really hot day and got everything done exactly as we discussed. We have many more trees to take care of and will definitely have Freddy's Tree Service back out to do so. Trimming large trees next to a home can create such a huge mess, but the yard actually looked better after they left! They did what they said they would, in the time they said they'd do it, for the price quoted. I was so happy with their work, I gave the guys an extra 10% tip for being men of their word. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for someone to take care of their trees. One other important point...I'm super picky about how my trees look. Don't judge the old man Freddy by his looks or demeanor...he's got the expertise and experience in this line of work and he delivers!...I was a bit skeptical when I first met him to do the estimate to remove 2 trees in my yard and power grind their stumps..he's kinda old school but he has a word of honor and makes good on it...he came right on time as agreed upon with a full complement of crew, power equipment (stump grinder), wood chipper/shredder in 2 large trucks..completed the job in 1 hour, hauled away debris and left the yard clean..I contracted him for $550 but I was very impressed by his job that I paid him $600...yes I'd recommend him and I'll use him again in the future. read more

We have always used Petersen's Tree but we wanted to try another service. We had four dead trees that were about 50-60 ft high, all clustered together and very difficult to access. Freddy's employees removed them easily, cleanly, and for a fair price. A sprinkler was slightly damaged in the process and they immediately told us and wanted to fix it on the spot. My husband was so happy with their work and honesty that he had them trim a large Brazilian Pepper while they were here. I now have a new tree service company and couldn't be more pleased. Freddy was very prompt in giving me an estimate for my tree trimming needs this year and when I selected his service arrived within two days to do the work. He and his crew of 3 did a very good job of trimming my carrotwood, alder, birch and crepe myrtle trees, thinning out the dead wood and reshaping the crown of a misshapen carrotwood. All done at a reasonable price. Freddy even gave me a good reference on a supply store to try for some remedies for one of my dying birch trees. The cleanup was good, although I had to do a bit of extra sweeping along the sidewalk and street after they left, but I didn't mind since the trees looked better for their efforts. Believe the 5 stars. Their bid was quick, professional and very competitive. A crew of 5 showed up on time and TOILED over 10 hours cutting down 4 tress (three were Eucalyptus over 70 feet high) and removing a retaining wall with a substantial concrete footer. They came with a truck mounted cherry picker, wood shredder, monster stump grinder and two haul away trucks. They dropped limbs/trunks from 80' with amazing precision (I have an iron fence that runs by the tree trunks within 1'-4'). They were meticulous in grinding all stumps well below surface level. And NO property damage. They hauled all debris away. A lot of things could go wrong with the job I hired them to do. They met and exceeded my expectations. Made tree trimming appointment 2 weeks in advance. Called 3 days before and confirmed. They never showed up on the scheduled day. Both my husband and I took the day off to be at home.....rescheduled and experienced shoddy, incomplete and slow work. Sal was very rude and unaccomodating when asked to trim more from trees. Refused unless I paid him more. Called Freddy who said he would call Sal and ask him to do the job at no extra charge. Sal again refused stating he has his own accounts and does what he wants. I called Freddy to come out and quote having 13 trees and 2 huge stumps removed from my backyard. He came the next day to give me the quote, gave it quick and let me know he wanted the business. He outbid every other competitor by ~$400 and by far had the lowest price. He also let me know he owns his own equipment which is why he can keep the cost down. He also let me know he could finish in 1 day, when other companies were quoting 2+ days. The quote was at 3:00 pm and by 3:00 pm the next day, every stump and tree was removed. How is that for quick and painless? He had me inspect his work before paying to ensure I was 100% satisfied. He even said if I wasn't home I could inspect his work and then mail the check...how is that for trust?! I called Freddy's Tree Service and spoke with Edward at 1:40pm today. I let him know that I needed an estimate on some trees we needed to have trimmed. He asked when he could come do the estimate. I said you tell me what day and time works for you. He said that he could come today between 3:30-4pm. I said great! At 4:19pm Edward still had not arrived at my house. I called the same number that I had called earlier in the day. Edward answered the phone. I asked if he was on his way. He said what's your address again and then we got disconnected. I tried calling a couple more times but no one answered. The initial reason why I contacted Freddy's Tree Service is because of all the great reviews on Yelp. My experience is the exact opposite. I really dislike flakey people and businesses. When you say you're going to be somewhere or do something you should follow through. If you can't make the appointment you should be courteous and call the customer. I would definitely not recommend this business to anyone. read more

As this was the first tree company that I found to be licensed and insured, (something very important to me), I called for a free estimate and after I provided them with best time for me, someone was out at my house, at the requested time, on time. That was a good first sign for me and after going over all work that I wanted done during this initial estimate visit. I agreed to Freddy's Tree Service to remove a tree from my front yard on 12/18/17. My second positive experience came when the crew also arrived on time and was immediately ready for work. Of which as I was initially told the work would take approximately 3.0hrs, they were all done with removing the entire tree, grinding the stump and cleaning up as identified within the scope of work, in approximately 1.5hrs! I was certainly impressed with the professionalism that these guys exuded on my project and I will certainly recommend them to others in need of tree removal or tree services. read more

I have never searched how to write a review until now. Freddy's was great, professional and fair priced. I have a big yard in Yorba Linda with lots of trees of various sizes, some requiring challenging means to trim without damaging other plant materials. Sal and his crew showed up on time with 5 guys at 8:00 a.m. and left after it got dark about 5:30. They have the equipment for every tree and situation and have the large grinder to blow waste into truck. They did a great job of clean up and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I can't say enough good things about Freddy and his crew. I called Freddy and he was able to come out and give me a free estimate the same day I called. I needed to have 2 Palms removed and trim a Plum tree. I was concerned because one of the Palms was growing between the wires that ran from the house to the utility pole. He said it would not be a problem. His estimate was extremely reasonable but we asked to think it over for a day or so, he said no problem, wasn't pushy at all. I called back a couple days later and set-up the appointment. His crew arrived on the day of the appointment and went straight to work. While removeing the Palm cthat ran between the wires, the wires fell down, but they made sure to put them back into place when they were done (I was sooo greatful for that!)Some branches fell into our neighbors yards, but they made sure to clean it up. They finished the job so quickly I was amazed. They cleaned up everything and I was impresed that they did not even damage the new flowers I had just planted around the Plum Tree that was getting trimmed. They removed the stumps and all so I am able to replant in the areas the trees were at. This was a great group of guys that worked quickly, efficiently and I would defintley use them again. Freddy is an honest person. He gave me a good price quote and his crew showed up on time in spite of the heat that day. I had a VERY large tree that was difficult to remove because of the power lines, but Freddy's team managed to do it without any problems with the power lines. Unfortunately, they did have a couple of other problems. Our ice plant that we had planted and cared for so carefully was completely destroyed. I think they dragged the branches through the median without thinking of the damage it was causing our plants. Secondly my Victorian style Pedestal Mail Box was broken. His workers didn't tell us, but tried to put brackets on it to hold it together. My poor mail box is ruined. it is lopsided and will have to be either replaced or welded. Not sure yet if it can be fixed. But the workers didn't say a word about it to us! I was rather disappointed. They obviously tried to fix it because of the brackets that were placed on it. However Freddy (being the honest person he is) gave me back my check and I wrote him a new one for a reduced amount. He seemed sincerely sorry for the damage. I would use him again. I think he was truly sorry for what happened. Keep in mind as you read this, ALL tree removal comes with risks to you your property. I have found this to be true with ever tree service I've ever used. At least Freddy is honest and tries to remedy the problems that occur. I just think his workers should have told us about the mail box and been more careful with our plants. read more

Having a small window of opportunity, we contacted three Anaheim tree services.Two of them did not return our calls. Freddy's not only answered the call but came out the same day to make an estimate. The cost seemed reasonable to us, based on other services we have used, and they were able to schedule our job for the very next day. They arrived on time with the kind of serious equipment needed to remove two 20 to 30-ft. To be honest, can't really rate Freddy's Tree Service on his work. He didn't do the work that he agreed to! First, he was late for the appointment we made a day in advance for an estimate, (without calling) even though I called him that same morning to confirm our appointment to which he again agreed. We agreed on the estimate and date for the work to be done, he said he was in the local area and would do the work that same day, that he would call. Later in the early afternoon, after no communication from Freddy's Tree Service, I again call him to set an approximate time, which we agreed upon. After a no show at the agreed set time, I for the third time called him, as again no communication from him. He stated he could not make it and said "MAYBE? Tomorrow? Excuse me? My time is just as valuable as yours buddy! If you can't make it, have the decesency to call ! If you don't want the job, then don't agree to it. Needing to have several queen palms trimmed and skinned and tired of paying what I think is way too much by who I use to use, I turned to Yelp to find someone else. Freddy's Tree came up as one of the top and was close to me. Seeing mostly positive reviews I gave them a call. Freddy called back within 15 minutes and setup an appointment for a quote for the next morning. When I came home from work for our meeting time, Freddy was already standing in my driveway waiting for me. Star One. After looking at the work and some other trimming I wanted done the price I received was far below what I had paid in the past and was more what I thought was fair for the work. Star Two. When I said let's do it, when can you start? Reply was "How about today?" Star Three. Checking in with my family later, the crew came back when Freddy said. Star Four. 2 hours later Freddy called personally and said they were done. When I got home it was just as good as anyone else has done and very satisfactory. Star Five. Had Freddy's come out 2 weeks ago after getting a couple of estimates. Sal came out to give the estimate and seemed to know exactly how to trim everything. We have a clump of melaleuca, a very overgrown ficus, a large clump of giant bird of paradise and about 14 palms of different sizes. Sal's price was 300 less than the other estimate we had and he was doing the exact same work. Made arrangements for them to come out at 8 am on a saturday and Sal and his crew was there by 7:45. They split up into teams, some in front and some in back. They made quick work of everything. The yards were actually cleaner when they got done than when they started. Everything looks wonderful. Sal came back when they were about done and made sure I was happy with their work. And I was! Only complaint I have is the next day I noticed that they didn't clean the botton of the birds very well. I had to get in there and trim out some leaves. But overall they are a definate 5 star. Price was VERY reasonable for all the work they did. I will not bother calling anyone else in the future and have reccomended them to neighbors. read more
