I called in for help with my Samsung dryer. Turns out they don't work on Samsungs (at least dryers) but they were super nice and knowledgeable and gave me another business recommendation that could help me based on how old my unit was, and why that recommendation would help me best. I requested that Fred repair my dishwasher. Both Helen and Fred responded quickly and made the hole experience enjoyable as it could be. (Don't like spending money on this type of stuff) When he was running late for our appointment he called to let me know. He arrived a got straight to work. He found another problem that was a possible cause to the failed but also found the panel board was done for. He quoted us a price then proceeded to tell us that it would be wise to at least look at newer machines because what we would spend getting it fixed would make a great down-payment on a brand new one. I called Fred's Appliance about the leak from my dishwasher. We troubleshooted over the phone because he was pretty sure he knew the cause. He gave me so much advice and information: run the sink hot water before the dishwasher, using the correct amount of detergent and rinse agent, and getting rid of too much rinse agent. He stayed on the phone with me during the troubleshooting while the machine was going through a cycle! I'm so impressed with this man's knowledge, expertise, and integrity! Before scheduling a service visit, Fred called to chat about the problem I was experiencing with my dryer - it was turning but not getting hot. Fred was booked for a week when I called about my dryer. They actually rearranged the order of their calls for the next day to squeeze me in. Fred arrived when he said he would, and after he arrived offered to walk around the back of the house rather than track thru the whole house. He worked quickly and explained not only what he needed to replace but also what we could expect from the rest of the parts on the dryer. Fred had to go pick up the needs part and made an extra trip back after hours the same day to install it. He even showed me how to check the exterior vent for buildup of lint and gave me tips about how much fabric softener to use, to improve the life of the dryer. He vacuumed not only the interior of the dryer but also the surrounding area -- it's an unfinished basement, so plenty of dust and such around, but I certainly would not have expected him to do that. I wholeheartedly recommend Fred's Appliance -- he was friendly, professional, timely, and more than fair with his charges. We had a bit of an emergency situation this week with our refrigerator/freezer unit. The motor had given out and it stopped working! We called Fred's Appliance Repair and were told due to it being urgent, Fred would be out that afternoon to take a look. Not only did he figure out the problem right away, but he was able to get a replacement motor for us and install it all in the same day! This was obviously fantastic since our food was safe and nothing spoiled! He was busy with other appointments that day, but we really appreciate him squeezing us into his hectic schedule! He also didn't overcharge us on anything that wasn't needed. He was extremely fair! Fred was so accommodating to work with and very personable! He is the model for how customer service should be! I have a front load washing machine that suddenly stopped draining water. I disassembled the machine to get to the drain pump and called Fred's Appliance repair. I didn't realize that he could have done diagnostics on the machine before pulling it apart to make sure we weren't fixing a part that didn't need fixing, but I was stubborn. He was very kind about explaining this process and proceeded to replace the drain pump. The washer was giving new error messages and Fred was determined to figure out the problem. A return trip was needed and he worked the problem until he fixed it. The sad thing was, it was something I had done when I took the washer apart. He was very gracious about letting me know and I learned a very valuable lesson. Fred was very professional and knowledgeable!! He came prepared and explained exactly what he was doing. My experience with Fred's Appliance Repair began with Helen, Fred's wife, who answered the phone and set me up with an appointment on a Sunday. Helen may be one of the nicest people I have ever spoken to on the phone. She spoke with me at length about the problem I was having with my oven and went out of her way to work around my schedule. Because she and Fred were concerned about a potential problem I could have had with my electric oven, she squeezed me in the following day even though she said Fred had a full schedule. Fred called and arrived the following day, exactly when he said he would. He was very careful about not tracking in dirt on my floors and was able to fix my problem quickly. Not only did Fred save my oven, but he also gave me some helpful tips on how to cook my Thanksgiving turkey and how to properly clean the type of oven I have.
