A store selling products to make my house clean should smell clean itself. I'd be afraid that products in that environment would absorb those smells and release them in my home. If you don't mind that kind of thing then it looked like they had a lot of vacuum related products to choose from.

Adopted a mutt with the coat from hell. Sheds clumps literally all the time. Clogs everything;…read morebreaks all vacuums. I have never been a vacuum every other day person -- no other choice since "Frank" joined us. Forced to bring my Miele "Cat and Dog" vacuum for repair. I knew it had had a subpar repair while I was out of town -- and had an electrical short in the cable. But Swanson's checks your whole vacuum out. The HEPA Filter was apparently ancient. Worse yet, where the hose attached to the canister was slightly torn. Did not know either of those problems existed. Ok. So everything will be addressed now. In addition to this superlative service, they also had Miele vacuum bags on sale. And did you know, they have VERY reasonably priced bags for upright vacuums -- the kind with better filtration than the regular store kind. Prices on these bags is likewise reasonable. Come in sets of three; I bought two sets. So, for just under $200 -- received the above-described Miele vacuum repair and Miele bags and six upright vacuum bags. If you are familiar with Miele and anything Miele-related prices, that price is INCREDIBLE. But wait, yes there really is more. I ambulate with a rollator. When I dropped my vacuum off initially, someone came out to the parking lot to help carry it inside the store. When I left, the marvelous staff loaded my car. I try to do things myself and not burden other people. Even so, this gracious assistance, without being asked is much appreciated. Have been patronizing either this store or what used to be their second store in Rockford for years. Reliable, economical, trustworthy. They will call you to explain everything and ask for your input even. No rude surprises. Wish everybody conducted business the way Swanson's does. This is an old-fashioned dealership/service location, in business for the long haul.

If you buy any appliances from Costco and this company is assigned to install it, immediately…read morerequest another company. I had a dishwasher recently installed from Costco and the team they sent destroyed my hardwood floors around the installation area as they scrapped off the top finish of my floors. They came up with every wild excuse possible (Water Stains!?) in a long letter so they wouldn't have to cover the repair costs. They also didn't wear shoe coverings and left my kitchen an absolute mess. Stay away from this company by all means necessary.

The technicians who came were masked, as requested, which I appreciate! They came when they said…read morethey would and worked reasonably quickly. Two issues though: 1) It turned out that the dishwasher needed to be plugged into an outlet and could not be directly wired. They offered to install one for $120+tax. We clarified that it would be a GFI outlet since that is code for outlets under a sink. They said it would be. After they installed it, we noticed it was not a GFI. They got the owner on the phone who claims "we don't install outlets" and was very defensive. Outlet was removed and we were told to make an appointment with an electrician. 2) the dishwasher was set too far back and is not flush with the rest of the cabinets. Nor was the inside of the dishwasher set up (basket left upside down). The film on the dishwasher was left as well. These are small details, but they are part of overall customer experience.

I called them again and they came out, but the dryer still did not dry the clothes and it made more noise after they left than when they left the first time. That was over $220.00 for both visits. Then I called Ted's. They came out but did not fix the problem, the dryer still made noise and did not dry the clothes. They sent me a bill for $75.00. I protested, so they cancelled the bill. Then two weeks later I got a bill for the same $75.00 they charged me for the first time. Finally after calling two different electricians, we finally got the dryer to dry clothes. But it still makes noise. That was over $500.00. I could have bought a new dryer and saved all the hassle.

It sounded just like when a belt squeals on a car. When the technician arrived, he turned a couple dials, put it through a cycle, and told me the transmission on my fairly new machine needed to be replaced. He also said he had no idea when a new one would come due to supply chain issues. My options were to wait, buy a new machine, or as the technician told me "let my current machine run until it dies." I paid the $75 service call and he left. We chose option 3 because with the Holidays, and I didn't feel like putting money out for a new washer right then. Good thing I didn't! I called Maytag in February and was put in touch with Dimond repair. The technician came out, took one listen and said, "yes, it's a belt." He fixed it and within 30 minutes my machine was running good as new. I was told that since Ted's was bought out, the service deteriorated. I didn't believe it. The front office staff was as helpful as always, and the technician seemed to know what he was talking about. I never had a bad experience before and I trusted them. Not anymore.
