Robert came out to fix my microwave a month ago--it was easy and less expensive than other estimates. That would be enough for a 5-star review. But, today, I called to get an estimate as my dryer was not heating up after a dryer vent company had come (and even re-inspected.) I thought they might have done something as the dryer worked perfectly before they came, but they were insistent it was a broken heating element or some other issue having nothing to do with them (Mr. Duct--avoid them!) Robert diagnosed the issue over the phone in 2 minutes after I sent 2 pictures of the gas line (they hadn't turned the gas back on. Seriously.) It was an incredibly helpful gesture and amazing customer service after a frustrating experience with terrible service. He wouldn't even take payment for the help. I am a customer forever. read more

Appliance Repair was quite responsive to my initial reach out and were great at scheduling a visit. The technician stopped by on Friday and cleaned the coils of two of my under counter fridges. The cost was $100, which I think is fair. They also replaced a broken fridge fan for $400. Fingers crossed that it continues to work. We noticed an hour later that the fridges were not cooling any more. The technician came back on Tuesday and took a look and explained that sometimes when fridge coils are cleaned (old ones) that the fridges break when they are cleaned. We were extremely disappointed at the response as the potential issue was not mentioned before the cleaning happened. We are also disappointed at the response was to quote us $3200 to fix/rebuild both fridges. It really did not seem responsive to the situation that was caused by the cleaning. After a couple of conversations, that is where we landed, with no resolution and two broken refrigerators. I want to stress that these are not scammers, they are knowledgeable technicians and in straightforward situations, I think they would be good to call. However, be aware they may not take responsibility, which may also be the case with other companies. read more

Our washing machine was acting up (starting the cycle but not moving to the spin cycle). We contacted another repair service and they mentioned a number of pricey repairs but then ghosted us after the estimate. So we turned to Appliance Repair MD and our technician, Raul, was excellent! He ran through all of the machine errors, ran tests and called his supervisor to confirm his assessment. Turns out it was because we incorrectly had our machine on a pre-rinse setting! All in all, I think Appliance Repair MD knows their stuff whereas other providers will just make things up! Our machine has been running like a dream since we have Appliance Repair MD look at it. Our dishwasher, while it was still under warranty, stopped working correctly pretty early on and the GE technicians they sent always had a different explanation for why. No real solutions though. I reached out for a second opinion once the dishwasher stopped working completely and luckily Appliance Repair, MD sent Jordan, who immediately was familiar with the model we have and some of the common problems that cause issues. Turns out the first thing he assumed was correct and was able to fix it in no time and at a low cost. He also provided me with some steps for how to avoid future issues. Our tech did a great job fixing our dryer which needed a replacement motor. The only issue which presented itself was some difficulty getting the pulley off the motor spindle. Failure was not an option here. After offering my high torque plug in Dewalt (it's a literal beast) with a proper hex bit, we pulled out the set screw. The dryer works well and even buzzes when complete which hasn't happened since we moved in back in 2015. Would recommend. Tech tip: A backup corded drill provides even more power for when the cordless can't handle it. Always use the correct bit for the job. read more

Robert returned my call within one hour. I was impressed. The tech showed up on time, and after installing (a likely unnecessary) solenoid, the dishwasher still did not work. The tech (who was very nice) stayed around to do some troubleshooting with me. I even changed the water feed hose to one I had on hand and it made no difference. We determined that there was some other problem, and he left to go to his next appointment. I felt stranded. After he left, I found the reason why we had failed at troubleshooting. The dishwasher uses only hot water, and we were using the cold water faucet from the sink connection to troubleshoot. The dishwasher is not connected to the cold water. He should have noticed this right away. The final test with hot water failed, so I am no closer to a fix than before I called Appliance Repair MD. So, after spending $295.00 for the repair call, the dishwashed is still not repaired. I have no data to not recommend this company, but from this experience, I will not be calling them for any further work. read more

They came 3 times, yet they couldn't tell us what was wrong with the dryer. Their technician called me stupid for inquiring about their failure to figure out what was wrong with the dryer. Terrible company!! Edit: How pathetic is the company? Their employee was asked to leave after failing to diagnose the issue with the dryer and calling me stupid for inquiring as to why, after 3 visits, they were unable to diagnose the issue. Even their response below is illogical. They came on 3 different occasions to "fix" the dryer. Each time after they left the dryer was not working. After 3 visits , they were unable to tell me what was wrong with the dryer. They were then asked to leave since it was clear that they didn't have the required skills to fix the dryer. (Insanity is doing the same thing OVER and OVER again while expecting a different results. If after 3 visits, you are unable to diagnose the issue, someone else needs to step in). Moreover, how would they be able to "refuse" to provide service to a customer who asked them to leave thereby declining to use their service? The technician was asked to collect his things and leave. If he failed to collect everything, that's on him. It might be a good idea to come up with a response that doesn't rely on stereotypes. You might want to expand your skill set and/or be honest when you don't have the skills to fix an issue/appliance. If you use this company, you better make sure you carefully keep track of their work. Honestly, I would go somewhere else since there are better reputable companies out there. read more

I had technician to my house from this company to do a diagnos the problem with my washer. It's only three years old Maytag washer which was not finishing the whole circle. Somehow, there was a system glitch. Diagnosis price was $75. But tech told me that it is a control panel need to be changed and he will change tomorrow morning, so I have to pay in advance $225 and I paid. But washer is working fine after unplugging it and plug back. No need to change the panel. Let see if they will return $150 back, depending on how honest the company is.
