I took my BMW 328I there thinking it was the power steering and maybe battery. My second car my baby! A worker or Fred called and said it was battery, alternator, and power steering hose. After he fixed all these things I'm told I have a leak in my windshield that went into the dashboard or water intrusions we got it running and it's fine. You can pick it up and take it to get the Bimmer Shop or dealership-get the windshield leak fixed. They even told me about a glass repair shop behind them. I told them I would pick it up Monday because I worked across town. They left my car out of the shop in the rain all weekend. Fred called Monday and told me I needed a tow truck because it is an electrical problem now. Long story short I contacted the dealership and Bimmer shop and they both confirmed I was just ripped off. The water intrusion (their diagnosis) was easily identified and they knew additional work was not needed if the electrical was not resolved. On top of that they left the car out in the rain all weekend. Allen at the Bimmer Shop said we are not going to take your money. Fred's took zero responsibility for leaving the car in the rain. They close at 5pm and refused to stay open and just left the car sit outside in the rain knowing the windshield had a leak. Needless to say it is now not worth fixing. I'm taking them to small claims court as they took zero responsibility. Both dealership and Bimmer shop said they are not going to just take my money. DO NOT GO TO FRED AUTOMOTIVE in HUMBLE, Texas. They will not do the right thing all they want is to text message to fake problems and steal your money!!! Beware Money Grab! If you can't fix it just say you can't or don't know-nope they want the money!! read more

Took my 2003 Cadillac Escalade in for instrument repair (nothing worked) and an oil pump replacement. This was the second time I used Fred Automotive and as quite pleased with the work done. I can't even give it out a rate of my experience.It was awful.I went in for oil leak and it's still leak.And the owner was freaking rude as they come, so I take it back.And he said, I was trying to get it free and not pay nothing.I already paid fouhundred and sixty six dollars. I went in to get my front end alignment they gave me a list of stuff that needed to be replaced so I replaced the stuff then I went back to get the alignment well all was good they did the alignment and told me my gear box for the steering wheel has play in it it was all good till now after that visit now my brakes stop working when I'm trying to stop and my brand new tires has already ate through the inside shoulder I do not recommend yall using this place bc if I'm paying $1200 for something you better fix it right my wife and child have to ride in my truck read more

Will waste your time! I called saying I needed to get an engine oil dye test and a clean of my engine from underneath and was told to come in so they could look for the leak. They initially wanted to charge me $69 (to check for the leak they could not find) I agreed and they came back and said they wanted me to pay $67 (to clean the bottom of the car) when I already told them it needed to be cleaned prior to coming to this location. The only good part is they didn't charge me after I had an issue with the check for the leak fee and told me to go elsewhere. Horrible place ! I feel I got super screwed! I had him change two oil gaskets and he told me he put two rubber gaskets because of a oil leak charged 500$ , brought car home still had the same problem Returned the car which he still couldn't resolve the problem! Outstanding service. Very professional. Quick work. I came in to get the blower motor on my Ford for the AC fixed. I am extremely pleased. I got there at 8, they diagnosed it quickly and gave me a ride to work said the would have it done by lunch. The picked me back up short after noon. I got my car back. Stay away from Fred's......My husband went to Fred's to discuss replacing a starter and provided all of the details for the car. He was quoted a price and it was fair. My daughter went in a few days later and dropped her car off, she received a call once she got to work and was told the repair cost almost a $100 more than what was quoted to her dad....She explained her dad came in earlier and discussed repairs and he was told a different price. Gentlemen told her he was not sure who her dad spoke with, but he was quoted the wrong price. My daughter explained she would come back and pick her car up, he advised it would cost $48 for a "check out fee". She asked why, she already knew the starter was the issue. She called her dad, he went to the shop and they dropped the price for repairs by $40. He explained he did not want to do business with them and he was not paying a "check out fee" the car was still parked by front door where my daughter left it just a couple hours earlier. After a few words they gave my husband the keys without a charge. So not right, just WRONG......They raised the repair cost for my daughter, but was willing to go down on the price for my husband....not an honest, fair business in my opinion. I would not recommend Fred's. I took my car in because the check engine light was on. They told me the issue was one of the o2 sensors. Initially, they quoted me one price, but tried to charge me a higher price when it was time to pay. After some back and forth, they finally agreed to go back to the lower price. Less than 24 hours after they completed work on my car, the check engine light was back on. I was told that the issue may be another o2 sensor and they can't be certain unless they replaced another sensor (for which they were going to charge me). Essentially, they were guessing as to what was wrong with my car and wanted me to pay for their guesswork. I ended up going to a Honda dealership to get the issue resolved. (The issue was not what the mechanic at Fred's suggested). Very disappointed with my experience here. read more

We have been taking our cars to Freds for about a year now after a friend recommeded their shop. We have been happy with their prices and their repairs, but our recent experience has us singing their praises. One of our vehicles is an older Isuzu which is difficult to find parts for. Other shops have had our car in the shop for weeks hunting for parts, so when our radiator hose broke last week, we expected the worst. We had it towed to Fred's and although they hunted everywhere for the part, the best they found was a place that would take a week for the part to arrive. By the end of the day, they called us back to tell us their mechanic had decided to manufacture the part and it was ready for pickup. The part is much better quality than the original and it didn't cost us a fortune. Their prices are reasonable and they are very friendly, professional and honest. Highly recommend. (NOTE: They recently moved from another location which is closer to the I-59. While the other shop still has their sign out front, it's smaller and it's not the same shop.) read more
