He offered numerous different fabric, color, and fit options that suited what I had envisioned, and the result came out stunning. The thing that was unique to Mr. Kim's offering was that instead of buying a tuxedo I might wear just for one occasion, he was able to temporarily sew a layer of satin on top of my suit jacket lapels and take it off after my wedding. This allowed me to just buy one, high quality wool suit that I can keep, cherish, and wear for a lifetime!

The…read moreritual is the same every time: you try the piece, the master kneels down and pins where he knows the work must be done, and the master lady (his wife) takes notes to calculate the cost. He barely speaks English, but he is kind and sweet and wise. Not even once he missed a spot, suggested a wrong idea, showed off or felt pretentious. For me, he is a master of the craft. I've been around, I have known many tailors, and this man is one of my very favorites. He finishes pinning, and he leaves gracefully, leaving the wonder woman to finish the accounting. There is always a SRP. She always asks for when do you need the work. They have A LOT of work, and they have a back room where many people work. If you are in a hurry, they deliver, at an added percentage. If you pay cash, "Cash is King" (her own poetic words), you get a better price. Every time they delivered the work in time. You can try the fixed pieces, and he makes sure you feel great and happy. Every time, I felt cared for and respected, almost pampered. There is the son, too. Maybe more than one working at the back. The son I know is fun, respectful and kind. Every other team member who I knew were always efficient and nice to deal with. I'm almost hoping to have another clothing item to bring to them to work their magic. I highly recommend this experience. It's, hands down, one of my favorites in LA.

Finally, I took it in, tried it on and explained the issue. They explained that it would be $65 to alter and confirmed that's what I wanted since the cost of the shirt was so low. I confirmed and the work was done so quickly and expertly- the results absolutely blew my mind! I next took two pair of pants which needed the waists taken in and they were so perfectly done. And fast! So fast that when I went to pick up I had to double check that I had remembered the conversation correctly the first time.. thought I was losing it! I have more suits to bring when I have the time and they they deliver all that I've been hearing for years. I felt comfortable and in the best hands. Thank you!!

The younger guy who works here is incredibly rude, overcharges, and everything is just as I left it. He personally got offended when I noticed things weren't done right. I mean I'm shelling out a pretty penny and he refused to fix it, give me an answer, and started shouting at me to leave. When I asked for his name he told me to get the hell out. Are you serious? He literally started taking my clothes off the hangers and tossing them. Like he intentionally wanted to dirty them to get his monies worth. It was close to closing time and I didn't feel safe around a clearly unhinged man. I quickly picked up my things and left before he did something crazy. I'm think this is a family run business and the older folks are phasing out with the younger guy taking over. As a woman I'd be careful coming here. Had to give them a call just to make sure but once I was inside, it was an amazing experience with tons of vintage denim to browse.
