Timely hemmed two of my dresses and super well priced. Happy to wear my short dresses.

This is supposed to be sewing? I could've stitched a better hem with one hand tied behind my back and a couple of fingers. The job looked rushed, careless, and completely thoughtless, like the only thing on his mind was the $12 he was charging. Which, by the way, is a joke. For that price, I could've bought a brand-new pair of pants and saved myself the headache. As if the shoddy work wasn't enough, his attitude was just as sloppy. When I dropped the pants off, he brushed it off like it'd be a simple fix. Spoiler: it wasn't. The only time he pretended to be pleasant was when I came to pick them up. That was until I dared to question the quality. Then it was, "If you don't like it, you can leave them here." The place was packed with clothes, and honestly, it makes sense now. Probably a graveyard of disappointed customers. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but not ones that clearly don't give a damn. First time here, and definitely the last. Save yourself the trouble. read more

I've been to Cesar a few times and always get great results. He does good work, gets your clothes back to you quickly, and charges a fair price. This most recent trip, my wife needed a pair of pants patched. Many places were quoting ridiculous prices, and Cesar quoted less than half of what some of them charged. I created a custom mermaid denim look by pinning the fabric together and he was able to help complete my pattern for my me. He is really good at what he does. I needed a shade curtain for my light-sensitive plants. I took a bolt of outdoor shade material for him to cut. He was to close the raw savage edge on each end of the fabric and hem a curtain rod fold along the top. He did it perfectly. He was all business. Perfectly polite. Not much conversationalist. That's all right. I'm interested in making sure he does the job well. I have zero complaints. I would say the previous reviews were spot on. His prices seem very reasonable to me. I have included a couple of photos of the finished product in my garden. It was too much of a challenge to other people I approached. Some tailors are just better trained and have more experience. This would have been my 4th time coming to Cesar but I can't deal with the attitude and now, an unjustifiable price on a dress I needed tailored. I've gotten more work done on larger dresses/gowns for a smaller price from him. So to come in with a short dress that needed minimal alterations and be quoted almost double the amount was my last straw. Even if he'd stated that he's raised his prices recently I would've rocked with that. But to flat out say "this is always my price" was wild. All in all, It's always an issue, always grumbling, always "just so you know for next time XYZ", always one thing or another, seldom a decent customer service experience. He's good at what he does but I'd rather be treated better elsewhere. Luckily for me I'm in Los Angeles, not the middle of nowhere. read more

I've been to Cesar several times and it's hit or miss. Twice he has hemmed my pants too short, shorter than I asked him to. I pushed back when trying them on and he insisted on going shorter at the fitting. When I received the pants they were even shorter than what we agreed on. I tried to let it slide but it bothered me that I didn't get what I asked for. The last time this happened it was for a big event and the pants were expensive but now ruined. The service is okay. I felt he was a bit condescending and rude but I didn't let it bother me until I witnessed how he treated a much younger and more attractive customer with such kindness and patience. He took his time with her and was so friendly. Each time I have gone in I have felt rushed. That's when I realized this isn't the place for me. I read another review on here that mentioned body shaming and I definitely felt a little of that coming here. It's convenient, local, and prices are great but I don't think I can justify coming back. read more

Hate to leave a small business a bad review but the truth needs to be revealed. I saw the good reviews and brought my 2 daughters flower girls dresses to be taken in as both were too wide in the waist. The length was fine for my tall skinny girls, the waists both required at least an inch or two taken in to fit. I saw when he pinned the dress, he placed the pins 3 inches down from the armpit and one at the waist: Most other fittings I've been to place a pin AT the arm hole, at the waist and down the thigh. We were 6 weeks out from our event so I told him no rush as we had several vacations planned. A week later a brought in a pair of pants to be taken up. Price was good. $75 for the 2 child dresses and a pair of pants. However one of the dresses was taken in too small. When we brought it back, he tried to tell me my child gained weight and it didn't fit bc she grew. The zipper was so tight and she couldn't breathe, the dress was so tight it showed the outline of her bra through the dress. He then took more time showing me how to zip up this too tight dress while my daughter was so uncomfortable being around a strange man in a dress so tight she was afraid it would show her nipples. All the while he's body shaming her. My younger daughters dress fit fine and the pants were okay... but we will definitely not be back. If your clothes came out great, that's great but he won't stand by his work and will blame a child instead of fixing his mistake I ended up ordering another dress, having it express shipped and then took to our normal tailors as no one was able to fix it due to the way he cut the dress to take it in... that's why he didn't offer to fix it bc he knew what he did. read more
