Without Lori's help, I would have likely paid out of pocket and had a much bigger hassle. Because I am finding high integrity business is rare these days, I wanted to share a little bit of my story to help you understand how wonderful this company really is. My back story: I got a small chip in my windshield driving down the five through California en route to Prescott. I was told by a couple of friends that my insurance company would likely cover the cost. When I called Progressive insurance, however, I could not get a straight answer from anyone in the two times that I called. When I finally got an answer i was told to call Safelite auto glass, which I have now discovered is a megalithic corporation that overcharges while providing virtually no customer service. (Do not go there, folks!) When I called the Safelite number, I was instantly referred to an automated online quote process that was going to charge me $119 for one tiny chip! (Sidenote: I am amazed at my trusted insurance company referred me to this ridiculous place). I knew that this quote was way too high and so I started to research other options in the Prescott area. Gecko was the first place I called. Lori was completely knowledgeable and helpful and supportive. She understood that I knew nothing about how auto glass claims work and she held my hand and guided me through the whole process, including calling my insurance company with me on the phone in order to determine my eligibility for coverage. With her help, I was able to discover that my insurance company would pay for the entire repair. Wendell came out the next morning and had the job complete within 10 minutes! I requested a quote online over the weekend and received a call Monday morning. John set me up with an appointment and ordered the windshield then and there. What was the most helpful that he called my insurer while I was on the phone with him. My insurer told me that the crack had to be larger than a silver dollar to cover replacement. They went on to say that Blue Chip was not a partner of their insurance company. I asked the insurer if that meant that they wouldn't cover the windshield if Blue Chip replaced it. John promptly jumped in and told me that the windshield would be covered 100%, but that the warranty would be covered by Blue Chip rather than my insurer. I appreciated the clarification. He told me that there would be zero out of pocket cost to me. The insurer told me that the repair would be covered and John did the rest (which was literally everything). Blue Chip replaced the windshield right in my driveway, again, at no cost to me. The service tech, Dan, was on-time and went out of his way to answer my questions, like calibration of the camera. Since my vehicle was newer, it had a camera for emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, which required calibration by an authorized tech when the windshield was replaced. Blue Chip took care of that as well. Dan showed me where the camera was mounted and why it needed to be calibrated with the windshield change. Dan was professional, competent, fast and friendly. In the end, I got a shiny new windshield installed by professionals at no cost to me. I have found my permanent glass company!
