Great service and good burritos they took real good care of us and have a great variety of things to choose from

Freebirds (at least in Addison) many years ago used to be a busy and high energy place. Staff was as little alternative and edgy. They ran a quick production line and took care of the customer. Now, in Allen, you get apathetic counter employees who seem bored and no sense of urgency. Update 5/30: I went by there to use points one more time at 1 o'clock today and they were out of fajita chicken, the men's bathroom was disgusting and not cleaned. And I let the employee know that there was no napkins in the dispenser. After I finished my meal, he still did not put napkins in the dispenser and it was slow. The staff at this store really could care less. Sadly, it seems my business will be appreciated elsewhere. FB's has great burritos! A variety of options to choose from you'll definitely find something you'll enjoy. They do have some tummy queso which usually may go to, similar to authentic Mexican tortilla chips. read more

Disappointed with the APP and lack of service in the restaurant at the Allen location. First thing that made me mad was once I ordered on the app and clicked pay it automatically charged me over $4 for a tip when I did not see this option and I did not get prompted for this option it simply charged me 20% on a take out order that I have to go into the store and pick up. This is really a crappy automatic feature that should not be in the app as it feels like a scam to get more money out of you. Shame on Freebirds! What put me over the top is when I went into the restaurant to get my too go order there was no designated shelf or place to pick up my order. There were 4 people in line and I just stood at the register while the 2 line workers helped people in line and the to go girl had her back to the restaurant the entire time. After the first couple rang up and paid I had to interrupt and ask if there is an area to pick up my order. She asked what the name was I told her and she turned around grabbed my bag and handed it to me. What is the point of ordering ahead of time if I have to stand in line and wait for everyone else to complete their order? Ridiculous system and should have a shelf or table by the register where people can grab it and go not have to wait 5 plus minutes and in line to pick up their food that is already ready! Freebirds need to reevaluate their order a head of time system and their app. I feel cheated with the $4 plus automatic tip that I did not agree to and then to wait 5 plus min to get my food that was just sitting on the counter behind the register is not efficient and very inconvenient for the paying customer! This place went downhill. There was nobody in there at noon on a Friday should be the first red flag. The man who was making our food was not nice. I got a salad with steak. Freebirds online menu offers many options to add to your personalized burrito. Before you order from any Freebirds be warned the person making your burrito may not give a damn. My spouse enjoys heat and flavor in his burrito so he chose to add jalapeños. Didn't ask for extra jalapeños, just wanted to state that clearly. Came here around 130 and the service was so bad. There were 3 workers but it seems like only 1 is taking orders and she was probably new. The other two didn't bother helping her out despite the line. Not sure what all the hype is, food was a bit bland. They're brisket was dry and flavorless. Chicken seemed like canned chunked chicken. Inside you walk in and everything kind of feels sticky and dirty. To me It seems like the McDonald's version of chipotle. Definitely not worth the price!! The tacos were okay, but the menu is misleading. Somehow 2 chicken tacos and chips w/queso ended up being $18, when, from looking at the menu, it should have been around $10. Neither the menu nor the severs said anything about every single topping costing extra. They really nickel and dime you. I'd much have rather spent that money at Velvet taco (which is amazing) or spent less at Chipotle. I read online that their chicken tacos were gluten free and I have celiacs (not Freebird's fault though as it was on another site)... I'm pretty sure they're not gf because I'm already feeling sick. This is my first visit, was not sure what to expect either. My initial impression when I first walked in was that the place looked dirty. I almost turned around and left. I walked in on the side where the restrooms are located. The cash registers are in front and the serving line is to the right. BUT, you have to go to the left to get to the servers. Weird set-up. I didn't look up to see the menu, all I saw was the chalk board with drawings on it. I sometimes get menu anxiety when I am not familiar with a place. I decided to be spontaneous and follow through on doing something new. Glad I did! The server explained the process of ordering. Said it would be like eating at Chipotles only better. Well, that did not help I have never eaten there either! I decided the Freebird medium would be a good start. Holy Crap that is one huge ass burrito! I should have gotten the small. I had the chicken, dark meat, as the protein since it always has more flavor. Moving down the line I had her add cilantro lime rice, no beans, cheese, tomatillo sauce, pico de gallo, jalapeños, grilled onions, guacamole, and some jalapeño sauce. It looked ok on the burrito, but what she did next took me by surprise! She smooshed it all together inside the burrito and rolled it into a perfect cylindrical form. I took my food home because I was not sure what I had gotten myself into. I'm hoping I have not done myself a disservice by eating here. I almost stopped by Cowboy Chicken so I would have a back-up plan. I have to say that was one mighty fine burrito! The server did me right by smooshing it all into one great tasting burrito. I got a salad, and would've gotten guac but it was solid brown. Even with chicken, salsa, corn, cilantro and tomatillo sauce, it tasted like nothing. The cilantro lime rice was dry. Everything was so just flavorless. I'll go back to Chipotle next time. read more

Burrito was not as good as Moe's or chipotle, but the chips win over the others. I can only explain the Redbirds chicken burrito as meh. They put a 1/4 cup of diced chicken on your burrito, not chopped or anything. It is about the size of one small chicken strip. I would suggest another restaurant every time. Service is weak too. My boyfriend and I ordered food tonight. After an hour of not hearing anything from the store, we had to call to make sure they put our order through. The worker said she was going to check on our order and put us on hold. After 15 minutes of having us just sitting on the line she just hung up. She did push our order through, but they forgot to pack our chips and queso and our drinks. We called and they were unable to submit another order for us. We were told we would get a refund but that "she was busy so she wouldn't get to it until the end of her shift at 10:30." When our food finally arrived, it was late and cold. Worst. OK, so this place is new and there are some kinks to work out. They have an issue with crowd control They should be cleaning the tables in a timely manner. The place is LOUD. The lines are long. So why am I giving it four stars? Customer Service!!! So lets talk about the food. I'm a Chipotle fan, I went to Freebirds and I'm still a Chipotle fan, I like them both. I don't compare the two since in my opinion it's like comparing a taco to a burger... they make their food different ways and yield different results. The quality and portions have gone way down and the prices up. Today is the 2nd time we have ordered delivery and been missing at least 3 items. Came to try the new plant based chorizo I've been hearing about but noticed they brought back the brisket. Couldn't resist and got the brisket burrito with queso it was so flavorful.
