They have stolen over $8,000+ from me, yes, stolen! They convinced me signed up with them in OCTOBER 2023. Due to the interest rates increasing, I agreed too let them help me solve my credit cards. Yes, I'm an idiot for not checking my "dedicated" acct sooner than I did & see what they've been doing to me! The 1st 13 months I continuously checked my deposits & monies they were taking for payment fees. After speaking with several of them, I was informed that it would a $9.95 monthly "Settlement Fee". Then on OCTOBER 07,2024 they pulled $1098.75 from my dedicated account for "MONTHLY SERVICE and again n NOV 07, 2024 the took another $301.oo for MONTHLY SERVICE FEE while still continuing to take $9.95 MONTHLY for PAYMENTS/DEBT.. What the hell's the difference between these fees? They waitedgor a year before they started taking more $$ than $9.85 month from us, they're thinking, after a year of all of use Feedom Debt Relief helping us that we SEE they're taking a LOT more money when we'renot looking because of the faith, we have in them After a year since it looked good for us, & for the year first years these FEES were low in here! As of FEB 2026, they have taken more than $8,500.00 in SETTLEMENT FEES & MONTHLY SERVICE FEES AND my DASHBOARD showed $2,887.00 was the ONLY $$ AMOUNT PAID TOWARDS MY ACTUAL DEBTS!! The SETTLEMENT FEES were in the THOUSANDS! BTW, Who's CRISSROADS (FDR)? They are the company that's tied to FDR & taking my auto payments!! There's another unknown Vo that's associated with FDR, WHY is There's a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT in the TOP CLASS ACTION site, ive signed up with them. This Scam is Bigger almost than the Trump scams. This is a ripoff totally!! They lure you in with nice lady's that say oh this is the best company and all that bullshit. I have been paying 300. A month for 13 months now. They have kept almost every dime of it. Creditors got paid VERY Little. I can't sleep at night it's worse than before I got sucked into this. My only option now seems to be bankruptcy. I owe everything I did 16 months ago plus a lot more my credit score dropped to 500. To sign up with this is one of the biggest regrets in my life. Don't do it you will regret it I only wish I would've seen these other regrets on yelp before I gave away about 6k and have still have the same debt I had 14 months ago. I regret enrolling with Freedom Debt Relief. In February 2025, I followed their exact instructions to submit a manual payment to American Express. FDR confirmed receipt--but never forwarded the funds. As a result, my settlement was voided. When they reinstated it, my balance had increased by nearly $2,000, and I was told in writing that $4,995.60 in settlement fees had already been collected. I've asked multiple times for documentation showing how these charges were calculated or whether they were duplicated. I've never received an answer. They also failed to act on another enrolled account (Barclay, now owned by Portfolio Recovery) despite receiving the required documents. That inaction hurt my credit score further. I've filed complaints with the BBB and CFPB and still haven't received a full explanation or fair resolution. Avoid this company. There are far more transparent, trustworthy options for debt support. read more

Dont do it! I made the mistake of filling out a form and now they call me 2-3 times a day and from different numbers each time. I have requested to be taken of the call list 100 times. Too expensive for something you can do yourself. The process was simple, but not worth it. I was able to negotiate a bill and saved $2,500 in fees. I originally had like five accounts with them once I saw how much fees they took I canceled four of the accounts kept the one that they already have negotiated and that's it. I'm done after seven months account paid and I don't have to pay them the fees for the other accounts. I already negotiated the others on my own and saved myself probably around 10 grand in fees. read more

Terrible. My credit had been destroyed as a result of my relationship with FDR. My first settlement was with Synchronicity Bank (SYNC) for a Venmo credit card. for about $738 and 3 payments of $246 and change. FDR took the money from me but only made one payment to SYNC. This was in March of 2024 and I was informed by FDR that the account had been settled in full. Now, 20 months later SYNC is reporting to the credit bureaus that my account was charged off with a balance of over $1800. Numerous calls to FDR have not resulted in any resolution. If you want to pay huge fees and have your credit absolutely demolished the by all means trust FDR. This company is beyond terrible. read more

These people need to stop calling my phone. It's absolutely ridiculous how many calls I've received yesterday 04/22 to this morning 04/23 and it's not even 11:30 am. I appreciate what was offered but I started a plan with another company. Representatives shouldn't be allowed to call customers over and over and over THE FUCK AGAIN!!!! I'm very irritated because I'm working and my phone will not stop ringing. I finally answered a call to politely ask to be removed from the call list as I already signed up with National Debt relief ((by the way, NDR called me once and left a VM and awaited my return. Much better and more respectful)) and the representative laughed and said "oh you're so angry," and hangs up. So you guys only exude customer service etiquette to people who sign up for debt relief ? It's ridiculous that I was MOCKED and then hung up on. I don't care how many people this company has helped. I began my account with Freedom Debt Relief in early February and they did not a single thing in four months. Not a single call was made to a single creditor. They respond immediately to any email, except the one where you request to cancel your account... We had agreed on two payment dates per month. After two months, they unitarily changed my payment plan to every other week... Then, told me my plan would take longer to complete if I stuck to what we initially agreed upon... I, finally just emailed them to cancel my account. I had initially sent my cancelation request using the wrong email, which they promptly answered explaining I needed to use the correct email... I resent my cancelation request immediately, using the correct email. At which point they ignored my email and withdrew my scheduled payment after I submitted the cancelation request... Furthermore, due to their lack of action, my credit score dropped from 635 to 464 in three months... Their lack of any sort of initiative has cost me dearly... read more

I originally set up a plan with Benjamin Gardner on August 14, 2024. My debt was $17,644 and the estimated total cost of the program was to be $12,373, which included the FDR settlement fees. The FDR estimated settlement fees were $4,581. As of August 18, 2025 I have paid in $12,505. I called FDR and spoke to Nicole who advised me I would have to make 5 more payments of $1,051 until my debt was settled because there were additional settlement fees of $4,326. Tthis meant I would pay $17,780 to settle a debt of $17,644. Is FDR just another scam operation? I'm making a complaint to the BBB! read more

I got sewed and the lawyer that represents them basically got me the worst deal ever!!! I had to pay 20,000 up front or 1000 additional dollars. When I closed out my program to get out as advised by 2 attorneys I talked to they suspiciously took all my money from a dedicated account they had set up for me. They were fees. When I spoke to a representative about this she already knew what I was going to say, like it was rehearsed. To be clear she was an American I had a lot of trouble understanding. Yes they do help pay off one's debt Yes they accomplish that mission but when there are any complications they are not helpful and really do an awful job! It is so difficult to get anyone on the phone who really have expertise and knowledge. They are like bots reading from a script. It is impossible to get a supervisor. They are always "in a meeting". The one positive I will say about the program is that they make it easy to add or remove accounts to your dedicated account. Now for the reason I gave them only 2 stars: My total enrolled debt - $46,651.00 The total amount that I will have deposited at program graduation - $42,018.57 This equates to a debt savings equal to $4,632.43 (less than 10%). I recommend you discuss with them the fee % that they are going to take before joining the program. read more

You could end up losing more money with this program than if you simply handled your debts on your own. Instead of paying them, you can stop payments and negotiate directly with your creditors--many will reach out to you anyway. My Mother in Law had a lot of credit card debt. So she reached out to Freedom debt relief and signed up. She ended up getting sued from the credit card company and freedom said "well it happens". They were no help at all. Then she tried to cancel and freedom told her she still owes them a negotiation fee and when looked over the paperwork she has been pay each month for almost 2 years on just there fees and not to the actual debt. So we dont recommend this and it would be better to just cut up your card and pay it yourself. read more

They are liars and scammers. This is my first-ever review, and I must explain how horrible this company is. If I could give them a zero-star rating, I would. I have been dealing with Freedom Debt Relief for over a year now. They talk it up like they will lower your debt, but there are hidden fees. Each month, you pay them a fee, and whenever they help you settle a debt, you pay another fee. They said the deposit amount doesn't matter as long as you make the deposits on time, which is a lie. I was just sued for my debt because it took them over a year to try and settle it and now have to pay it in full, plus extra for all the late fees. They also claimed the debts would be settled in six months, but that never happened. WARNING: They make sure you can pay their fees before they even start negotiations to settle your account. If I could go back, I would NEVER have worked with them and would have just paid off my debt slowly. read more

be very careful with this company. You have to let your debts go way past due which then ruins your credit then they will negotiate for about 50-60% of what your debt is and then charge you an additional 28% they do save you money, but you might as well file for bankruptcy because of how bad they're gonna ruin your credit. You will pay their fee fees before they pay off anything else so if you have a $2000. In your monthly payment is 500 bucks the first $570 or so we'll go to them and they will make like 15 a month payments. I wish I had never went through them and just worked on paying these myself. I started with 12 and ended up only doing 5 because I can do better myself. This was a blessing to have medical bills arranged to pay off. The associates and representatives were always very helpful. The only snag was COVID 19. The contact and arrangements with the medical facilities became harder and "overtimely" to negotiate with. Once that hurdle was jumped, payments went back to normal. Good. They seem to be honest folks! It took them 6 months to resolve one of my accounts and the account was under $200.

I did exactly what Freedom Debt Relief told me to do. Unfortunately because I trusted them, I had to pay thousands of dollars more than what might debt originally was. They did help me with 2 creditors. Unfortunately I had to pay FDR extra fees and taxes on the money saved. However, I didn't recieve any assistance with the extra money I had to pay. I paid my debts off in one lump payment. Three months after paying my debts off, FDR continued to take the biweekly payments out of my account. I called multiple times and got a different excuse everytime. The whole time after I paid off my debt Freedom Debt Relief still charged me a monthly charge. All I can say is read the fine print, don't get caught up in their "used car salesman" tactics. They don't tell you the negative things that can happen, and they don't do their research to know what institutions will work with you and which ones won't work with you. There are better options for Debt Relief companies. read more
