I have been to fancy gyms that charge $20 if you don't have a membership. Ridiculous. The classes are also great, I love the boot camp they offer and it will totally kick your butt! It's not for the faint of heart. My only complaint; I wish they were open on Sundays! But overall a lovely facility that I am so pleased to have in my neighborhood!

The event was an explosion of color, music, art, international countries, children, and fun. I passed the info to lots of people but no one went. You got a passport and stamped at each country. The place was full of love, children, and art. The had an arts and crafts area for children and adults. I made a jeweled cherry blossom tree there. If you were hungry, they had food trucks outside and a food/ drink place inside. The food smelled delicious. I did not eat any though. There was non stop live entertainment from different countries on a stage. They also had a story time tent. I came later during the day, but the place was busy. If you have children, enjoy art, or love international festivals, I would strongly encourage you to go to this event next year. It is fun and free entertainment. The art work was very impressive. I love the Native American Indian art painted by a teenager named Juan. I wanted to buy a card or print of his painting of a Cherokee Indian on the Trail of Tears. I ate some food from Mexico-yum, talked to a beautiful girl in the Venezuelan booth, made a jeweled cherry blossom tree, and met a cool Russian artist designing tarot cards. I wanted to take a picture of a buck deer made of barb wire. My favorite booth was of Japan. It was the most beautiful and creative booth. I liked having a bunny origami made for me with my name on the back. Watching the lady draw in Japanese calligraphy and seeing beautiful women and children in kimonos were very beautiful and enchanting to me. All in all a spectacular day and mini adventure at 2019 Hopkinsville International Festival.

I recently visited Pennyroyal to finish my PADI Open Water Diver certification. I did the class…read morewith a dive shop in Nashville and did the final open water dives at the quarry. As far as scenery goes, the quarry was beautiful! Above the water was a clean rock face with some wildflowers growing in the grass on a ledge. Truly picturesque. A school bus, basketball "court", motorcycle, and "water dogs" can be found underwater! It made our check out dives much more fun to stumble upon a basketball hoop with some rogue bowling balls to toss in. We saw some fish swimming around which was fun as well. The visibility was remarkable (in my opinion) ranging from 4-10ft while I was there. There is a $25 entry fee for divers, and (I think) a $15 fee for non divers, but you must be accompanied by a diver if you yourself are not diving. They have equipment rentals that are fairly cheap and they can fill your tanks there too. Both guys working were very helpful and efficient getting me down to finish my certification. I highly recommend Pennyroyal for your Tennessee/Kentucky diving fix!

The welcome center has its own small park area with grills and a kids play area. And a dog walk area. For hunting season there's also a deer weigh station. It's a small visitor's center with restrooms, gift shop and super nice lady who will answer all your questions about this area. Although, entrance into this park is free, you can process to receive passes here for all National Parks, etc. For military personnel, it's a great deal to receive an annual military pass (to all federally operated parks, nature reserve, recreational area, etc. which require entrance fees) for free (that's $80 savings annually). It allows your privately owned vehicle to enter free. There are some fees if you want to go to beach area or enjoy planetarium at the main visitor center. Lots of trails if you want to explore up close and personal. Enjoy!

Indoor track, indoor pool, indoor field, countless group fitness classes, Racquetball courts, squash, a rock climbing wall, different cardio & weight rooms... need I go on?! I'm an especially huge fan of their group fitness classes, especially spinning and Zumba. I haven't been to a single class that has disappointed me. It gets particularly busy during the beginning of the semester but levels out as the year goes on. If you google the Rec center, it has a live feed of how busy it is too, just in case you're not looking to throw some elbows trying to get your workout in. I also learned this past weekend that if you're a vandy student, your family can work out with you for free. Definitely a resource you should take advantage of if possible.

The people working are always friendly and willing to help or answer any questions you may have. The facility is clean and every time I come it never seems overly crowded. I come here specifically for the group classes. I mainly take Yoga, Barre and Iron Bodies but have loved every other one that I have tried. I do wish they offered more classes (especially Barre) but it's a small town and limited classes are to be expected. I'm just happy I don't have to drive 30mins to workout. :-)
