While we got a great deal and the solar panels themselves are working perfectly, the customer service and project management fell short of our expectations. The main issue has been a lack of follow-through on a faulty consumption monitoring system we purchased as an add-on. Uprise was slow to acknowledge the problem, at times ignoring our emails or telling us to just wait and see if the issue resolved itself. They also provided incorrect information about our Pepco bill and dismissed our concerns by pointing out that the panels themselves were generating power. While our sales rep and his manager were always polite, they failed to take the sale of a defective add-on seriously. To date, the consumption monitoring system remains broken. While I appreciate that Uprise promised to both fix it and provide a refund after months of being unable to address the problem, they have failed to deliver on either promise. The installation process itself suffered from somewhat sloppy management. When Uprise provided timelines (e.g., "this step will take 6-8 weeks"), they often did not proactively update us; at week 9, I would have to chase them down for a status check. On install day, the crew left their truck blocking our neighbor's garage and disappeared for lunch. Despite telling us that follow-up work would be scheduled in advance, Uprise employees showed up at our home unannounced, with no company ID, driving an unmarked vehicle.

Called to see if they were running late/something came up and the person that answered at first couldn't find the appointment. Once they found it, they stated they would call me back after speaking with the person and reschedule. Never received a call back. I called back at the end of the day but no one picked up. The next week I called several times on different days but no one picked up. I eventually put in a request on their website to see if they would respond via email, but got no response. Called twice today; same result. I put in a request on Yelp and it was immediately responded to stating unable to service. I'm not sure what is going on but I will move on to a different company. Since they did not show up for the appointment, no estimate or work was provided/done.

When we read it, they had some dubious terms in there, like forcing us to use them to replace our roofing if we needed to. When speaking to the operations manager, Barklie Eestes, his attitude was one of arrogance and jest. We reached out to him for over a week to get the agreement signed and move the project forward. They then went ahead and sent a contract for the same exact system for nearly $50k. Something their office manager confirmed, "should not have happened." Maybe they didn't like our name or that we actually read through their contract, but all around shady business practice.
