To make matters worse, when I called to confirm the truck timing, they tried to tack on an additional $150 for no valid reason, even though we had already agreed on a set price. They claim to support the military, offer military discounts, and say they take special care of military customers. That representation was a major reason I chose them. Unfortunately, that promise did not match the service provided. They are brokers, not actual carriers, and they subcontract to unreliable transporters. This was supposed to be a simple El Paso to Dallas trip with expedited service, and I was told the vehicle would arrive overnight. That never happened. The day after pickup, I was told the carrier had a trailer breakdown and would be late. Later, I was told a completely different story -- that the vehicle had reached Odessa and was having DOT issues. Eventually, I learned the truth: the vehicle never left El Paso. When I called Freedom Auto Transportation directly, they provided no help at all. I was repeatedly told "we'll call you back", but no one ever did. Once they had the deposit, there was no follow-up, no advocacy, and no customer support. It felt like they no longer cared after getting paid. The vehicle was finally delivered one full week later, yet I was still charged the full expedited rate. To make matters worse, when the vehicle arrived late at night, the driver demanded cash on the spot and implied the vehicle would not be unloaded unless paid immediately, as if I had threatened not to pay -- which I never did. The balance was $350, and I sent it immediately via Zelle, but the pressure and tone were completely unprofessional. Bottom line: * Misleading claims, including military-friendly messaging * Conflicting and inaccurate updates * No customer service after the deposit was taken * Full charges despite failed expedited service I would not recommend Freedom Auto Transportation, especially to military members and families who expect honesty, accountability, and basic customer support.

The only challenge I during this whole process was with the transport company themselves - they had agreed to a delivery period (after 8pm because my friend receiving my vehicle works full time) and the day before insisted my friend HAD to be available from 12-2pm to receive my car and they could not do any other time. They essentially forced my friend to take a day off - and on the day of delivery, the transport company kept running late and ended up delivering after 8pm anyway! The driver details never arrived. When I asked to cancel, they charged a dispatch fee, claiming that a driver had already been dispatched--even though they never provided any proof that a real driver had been assigned. It felt like a trick to keep me committed so I could not book with another company that actually had a confirmed driver. Be very careful before signing anything or paying a dispatch fee unless they first provide verifiable driver details. UPDATED: Mercury's own response confirms that the dispatch paperwork and driver information were still being processed when I cancelled. That is not a completed dispatch, regardless of what button they clicked in their internal system. Another company had already provided me the exact same driver's details, and Mercury's screenshot showed only $350 payable to the driver, yet Mercury retained even more than that while providing no transportation service.

Requested car transport from L.I. to Boynton Beach. The service has been getting worse lately…read more Ordered service on Dec. 19, and was supposed to be delivered Dec. 22. When there was no call for delivery, called and asked about it. At first the excuse was heavy traffice then when it wasn't delivered the next time, was told a car wasn't ready to be picked up and had to wait. Again, a date and time was given, no show. I was then told it would be 9am on 12/25. When called at 10am, as it was a no show, or even a call to change the time, was very nasty. Said was sleeping and was screaming, as it got to him. Lied about the time he said the day before. The last time it was 8 days until I got it. It is now 6 days and there has been no delivery.
