Terrible experience with Freedom Auto Transport. I worked with Anthony Pravata, who quoted me $1,100 for a 40-mile transport and promised a Conestoga trailer at our requested time. What actually happened was the complete opposite. No Conestoga trailer showed up, the driver was over 3 hours late, and then complained about having to tarp the load--which was already agreed upon beforehand. To make matters worse, when I called to confirm the truck timing, they tried to tack on an additional $150 for no valid reason, even though we had already agreed on a set price. 1 Star - Misleading, Unprofessional, and Dishonest Freedom Auto Transportation sounds great when they first take your order. They claim to support the military, offer military discounts, and say they take special care of military customers. That representation was a major reason I chose them. Unfortunately, that promise did not match the service provided. They are brokers, not actual carriers, and they subcontract to unreliable transporters. This was supposed to be a simple El Paso to Dallas trip with expedited service, and I was told the vehicle would arrive overnight. That never happened. The day after pickup, I was told the carrier had a trailer breakdown and would be late. Later, I was told a completely different story -- that the vehicle had reached Odessa and was having DOT issues. Eventually, I learned the truth: the vehicle never left El Paso. When I called Freedom Auto Transportation directly, they provided no help at all. I was repeatedly told "we'll call you back", but no one ever did. Once they had the deposit, there was no follow-up, no advocacy, and no customer support. It felt like they no longer cared after getting paid. The vehicle was finally delivered one full week later, yet I was still charged the full expedited rate. To make matters worse, when the vehicle arrived late at night, the driver demanded cash on the spot and implied the vehicle would not be unloaded unless paid immediately, as if I had threatened not to pay -- which I never did. The balance was $350, and I sent it immediately via Zelle, but the pressure and tone were completely unprofessional. Bottom line: * Misleading claims, including military-friendly messaging * Conflicting and inaccurate updates * No customer service after the deposit was taken * Full charges despite failed expedited service I would not recommend Freedom Auto Transportation, especially to military members and families who expect honesty, accountability, and basic customer support. read more

I do not recommend Freedom Auto Transport. When I called, I asked if they are licensed and insured. Anthony Pravata said, "yes". They might be, but they hire sub-contractors, who may or may not be. Our tiny house was damaged from a transport from NC to FL. I have called Anthony numerous times. He does not answer the phone and has yet to call me back; it's been 6 weeks. Mike with Freedom Auto Transport is super unprofessional and shady. We called various companies asking for quotes and Mike with Freedom Auto Transport was just one of many quotes we got. We never signed any paperwork nor verbally agreed to do business with his company. We actually found another company and signed an agreement to have them deliver our car but when they went to pick the car up, Mike with Freedom Auto Transport had listed our car with his company even though we NEVER AUTHORIZED it. This prevented the company we had an agreement with from loading our car up for delivery. When we called Mike back, he gave us the run around and wouldn't take our car out of his system. Again...we never agreed to work with him so what he did is not legal/authorized. When I reached back out to him a third time via text, the screenshot image shows the childish, immature nature. When I called up for a quote I got a response immediately. The quote was the lowest I received, plus I was able to choose a date that was best for me. The Freedom resentatives were in constant contact with me before during and until my cart was delivered. My wife said that the delivery driver was very friendly and helpful. Horrible experience !! They completely destroyed my 1970 Volkswagen Westfalia that had been maintained meticulously by my uncle for 45 years. I had inquired about the insurance policy and they assured me it was covered 100% from the time I hand them the keys until they handed them back to me. You can't believe the condition my Bus was returned in. I will upload photos. It was in perfect condition when it left Texas and when it arrived in California two days later it looked as if it had been rolled on the freeway. Ruining so many different areas of the bus totaling $10,000 in damage and I never received one cent!!! The claim was denied by their insurance company. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!! They said they are just the broker and they are not responsible. Everyone pointed fingers and no one claimed responsibility. The driver decided to turn the bus around facing backwards half way during the trip and said he didn't know the top opened up. It has two rubber brackets that hold the top down which are not intended to be going down the freeway backwards at 80 MPH. I would have never signed it off to be hauled that way. read more

I planned on shipping my car cross country with Freedom Auto Transport. I requested a quote on their page and was contacted by an employee, Bob, who would be aiding me throughout the process. In the beginning, Bob seemed like a great representative for Freedom Auto and appeared to be transparent with me the process. A weeks after initially speaking with him, he informed me that everything was going well with my inquiry and that he/dispatch would be reaching out to me about placing an order & scheduling soon. Wanting clarification, I asked how much weight was I allowed to add to my car. I gave an estimate of how much I MAY add & Bob proceeded to ask for pictures of my belongings to send to a driver. I have not had any other broker ask this of me. Once I informed him that I wouldn't be able to send a picture of my belongings, he stopped responding to me. I waited a few hours and tried speaking with him again. I was met with silence. Confused, I found another broker because I began to feel unsure of Freedom. Once I found one, I reached out to Bob & informed him that we wouldn't be moving forward. I was immediately met with pushback where he began to insinuate that I'd made the wrong decision and that something would happen to my belongings in my car that were being shipped. Soon after, I was informed by the new broker I'd found that Bob had listed my car on the loads board despite me not confirming anything/placing an order with Freedom. They said that this would affect my car being picked up. I asked Bob to take down the listing and he told me he had, but the other broker confirmed that he hadn't. I asked again via call and was met with very aggressive behavior from Bob, to which he still didn't remove the listing. I was forced to bring up legal action to get my car removed. Despite not placing an order or giving any money to Freedom, I would not recommend this company or Bob's aid to anyone seeking a car shipment. Dealing with Tony was great. However, the 3rd party who actually towed my car was an idiot. He used a small trailer that a landscaper would use to haul a large mower. It appeared to have 2 inches of clearance on either side of my vehicle when the Russian transportation driver loaded it. (I could barely understand him or his texts). I was nervous right away, because of the rickshaw method he was transporting my vehicle, an alfa romeo giulia. I paid 1000.00 for an enclosed transport and this is NOT what I had in mind, but we were moving, so I couldn't make other arrangements in the final hour. Upon examining my vehicle which arrived at our new residence before we did, The window frame was damaged as if he had locked the key fob in the car and had to use a slim jim. I had him take pictures of the car all the way around before I paid the fee, but of course the pictures were not close up enough to alert me to the damage to the window. There was also a new small scuff mark. I have contacted the driver and his company to file an insurance claim , but I know it will go no where. I paid 1000.00 to have my car damaged. They have put my transportation needs many times in the wrong hands and for that I have had many $100k plus rides messed up loading and unloading! They will not go to bat with insurance, they WILL turn their heads and ghost you In fact! This past transport was on a Custom 64 and while loading scratched the whole passenger side from front to rear ! Again no help and again I paid for repairs as the transport guy wasn't even insured! Tyler told me I was quoted low but they would honor quote. The day before I called Tyler 2 times only to find out at 4:00 when I called again the price would be a whole lot more. We used this company a few weeks ago. Found them on www.uship.com. We never transported anything, never used the site before but we needed to transport a car in a hurry. Did quick research and found they have various locations. They're not registered with the BBB in terms of getting a letter grade but the site did have some information on them. Ultimately, our web research on them and came up with just OK reviews. Please note they are "BROKERS" so they contract out work. Anthony Pravata was our agent. There are two other gentlemen that are agents as well. He was attentive. Yes, we kept calling him however, I give him credit. He returned our calls and trying to he stuck to his guns, making sure we got the price closest to his original quote. Originally we were quoted by him, $400 from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Dallas, GA. We ended up paying $425. We called him on Tuesday, did the reservation on Wednesday evening and the car was picked up on the Thursday morning as promised and on time. Our transporter was Joel. Just to give you an example of his route, he was going from Macon, GA, our stop, then South Carolina, then New Jersey. In all honesty, he was very pleasant. The problem was his estimation in terms of time was way off. The car was supposed to be delivered around 6:30 am. It didn't arrive until about 3:30 pm. Now, during that time we were in constant contact with him but this is to show an example about his estimation of time. Would I use them again? Yes, I believe so. It was not a bad experience. took three tries before they moved car, and over a week. great language barrier with this companies drivers and dispachers only speak russian. could not get any thing sorted out. told there was no key with vehicle, would have to winch on truck. after two tries last time i drove 90 miles to bring them key. then driver had no change made overage a 25 dollar tip. if you deal with this outfit make sure you have your own change. neither freedom or their drivers has issues changing price of keeping your "tip". i move about 10 cars a year up till now usually had friends help, thought i would try this way, bad mistake, will not deal with this company again. read more

Was quoted $1250 to move an F250 from NC to CA, and received a call from Martyn Rothberg assuring me that this was easy and we could ship it hassle free. A week later I called to schedule the pick up and provided the pick up and delivery address, and was told that I would be booked on 4/24 or 4/25, but would cost closer to $1600, and they would make sure it didn't go over. I called on 4/25 asking if it had been book and was told he was still trying to lock in the best price, and that he would book it at $1,600 or less that afternoon and call me to confirm. I called this morning at 8:31 and did not receive an answer. Martyn responded via text at 8:48, and which time I called and terminated my business with them and told them to remove any bookings for my truck and requests for scheduling. I also informed him of the fraudulent review I found on Yelp he had posted to boost the rating. I received gaslighting text responses and insults, and had to call again after booking with American Auto Shipping in order to have the truck removed. I needed a vehicle shipped from Modesto, California to north Idaho. I received a quote from Freedom Auto Transport on Monday, August 14 around 2000 hours. It is now Wednesday, August 16 and the car was just dropped in my driveway. After receiving the quote, I was contacted by email by Freedom Auto Transport. I was provided a contract but was not pressured. I needed it handled so I signed the contract Monday evening, thinking I would be home by the time the contract was even assigned. On Tuesday morning, around 0830 hours, I received a call from Freedom Auto Transport and was asked to pay the $495 deposit, which I did via credit card. I was told the vehicle would most likely be picked up that same day. I had read some negative reviews about Freedom and figured they were blowing smoke. Early in the afternoon, I was contacted by the vehicle seller and told the contracted driver/trailer had arrived. I spoke with the driver Jorge Sanchez and he said I could expect the delivery late the next afternoon. Now I thought this was a little worrisome as I did not think the car could be delivered anywhere close to that estimate. Low and behold, Jorge delivered my vehicle to my driveway by 1730 hours on Thursday, August 16, Less than 48 hours from when I received the quote!!! We were traveling during this whole time and had started the process as we knew it would take a while and we would be home well before the delivery. We fly home tomorrow, Thursday, August 17, with the transport handled. In my opinion, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Freedom Auto Transport!! They scramble to find anyone to take the load and that's probably because they're putting too much of the money/quote in their own pocket so carriers see what the loads worth and don't want it. Freedom called me on a Wednesday evening saying the car would be picked up Thursday if I paid them the $300 deposit. Sounded good since I was in a rush and the quote was $1589. He then told me it's now $2080 and I need to make the deposit so the truck can get it Thursday. I felt like I didn't have an option so I paid them. The car was not picked up Thursday as I was told it would be. Not Friday either. Late Saturday I get a call that the truck was there to get the car. The driver delivered our car Tuesday. I asked the driver why he didn't get our car Thursday like he said he would. He told me he never said that. The broker misled me both on price and pickup date just to make a sale. The garbage drivers showed up in the wrong place and demanded that I come to them (no call ahead). Then when I pointed out the damage they flipped shit. If I could give less than one star, I would. I had pickup of my van scheduled for 1/14. I paid a 330.00 deposit with 1100.00 due on delivery, perfect. I knew from shipping another car last year that typically a driver will email you pictures and let you know when your vehicle is picked up. Saturday, I get a call from the place my car was and they told me that my car was still there. No contact from Freedom or the driver. I text the driver multiple times and call Freedom. Nobody responds all weekend. Monday I text the supposed driver again and she said that she informed Freedom that her truck broke down on Tuesday 1/11 to let them know that they would need to secure another carrier. I finally get ahold of Freedom on 1/17 and they are blaming the carrier and so on. Fine. But at what point does Freedom let me, The customer know that A. My car hasn't been picked up and B. An update on what they are doing to secure another transporter. For 4 days and little to no communication on the part of Freedom they are "looking" for another carrier. Finally I get a call saying that they may have a spot for me but that it is going to cost me another 400.00 on delivery. I was told that them finding a carrier is them rectifying the situation. It was basically take this carrier or my vehicle doesn't get shipped. I said that me not paying $1.00 more for their mistake and lack of communication would be rectifying the situation. I was refunded $135.00 out of the $335 deposit to "help" go towards the final payment to the driver. It felt like I was completely taken advantage of. I am not happy with the meager $135 refund as that did not even cover half of the added money that I had to come out of pocket on delivery. Freedom does not value its customers, if they did I would have been refunded the full amount. I will be fighting for the refund of the other $200 because they are the ones who did not fulfill their end of the agreement and ended up costing me more money. Great Service and Friendly Staff. I recently moved my vehicle from FL to NJ and they did an amazing job. I spoke to Izzy and Jake who were professional and extremely helpful explaining the process. This was my very first time moving a vehicle and it was a great first experience. They quoted me a very fair price and picked up and delivered my vehicle within the time frame that was promised. I was able to communicate with the gentlemen at Freedom Auto Transport and the driver, must say great line of communication. Anthony was friendly and responsive. A bit of a lack of communication with the local carrier but I called him and it was straightened out. But.... communication with Anthony after pickup was lacking. I called him twice and also emailed about a problem with delivery and never receive an response. Since it needed to be taken care of quickly I ended up calling the local carriers dispatch, who was able to resolve the problem. Except for the language communication problem with the driver and a bit of a problem with payment, everything went off as expected. The price was a little higher than the rest but because they could pick up the same day (within hours) I was willing to go that route. (The others couldn't offer anything sooner than middle of the next week for only a little less.) I also liked the fact that the carrier was local. read more

Had an order in to pick up vehicle in Jacksonville, NC to NJ. Order dispatched and received driver contact information from Moore GMC in Jacksonville, NC. who was also a nightmare to work with! Contacted driver on Saturday with an expectation of Sunday delivery. Confirmed the details, no problem! Sunday still waiting around for delivery so I contacted the driver, Kenny. No answer, no text so I gave him the benefit of the doubt he must be in transit delivering our new vehicle as planned! NOPE! I eventually Called the transport company, Freedom Auto Transport who told me the VEHICLE WAS NEVER PICKED UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP. Not once did I hear from the dealership with this news or the transport company and learned of this Sunday afternoon. I was leaving to go out of town on Monday and the vehicle needed to be at my location. Fast forward, driver, Kenny gave a very poor excuse he had bad diesel and that his phone died. Very poor excuse because all of my text messages were read immediately after sending the text so how could his phone died and why didn't he ever get back to me. VERY UNRELIABLE DRIVER... They tried to get me to pay $900 for transporting my car after quoting me $650 2 weeks prior. I made it clear the exact day I needed the car delivered by. Now I took the day off so the driver hired for the job can come pick up my car and guess what......he never showed up! I had to call the dispatcher the next day and she tells me he'll be there between 1-3pm that day. The driver then called me at 4pm saying he's outside. I met him in front of my community with the car and now the driver proceeded to ask me for an extra $200 because I have my items inside of my vehicle. Not only was this never expressed to me that there would be a fee for having items in the vehicle, but after I agreed on a price with the driver for transporting the car with these items, I asked him to assure me on the arrival date of the vehicle....Now he claims that the car will be delivered by the 30th! After I made it clear 2 weeks prior to the company that I specifically needed the car by the 29th because I'm moving!! That was my last strike. I parked the car in my driveway and I have another company picking my vehicle up in the morning.
