We love Freedom Village -- wonderfully kind staff, lovely independent apartments and continuing care should that be needed.

Not only is the facility clean and beautiful but every single person that works there is the best of the best...especially the nursing staff. They truly care and they truly put their heart into taking care of our loved ones. Both of my parents have stage 4 cancer along with other chronic conditions but they have thrived here because they get great care and all of their needs are met. The proximity to TGH is a blessing. Between the two of them, there are quite a few medical appointments -- but the Allegro driver takes care of transportation. There have been a few times that they needed around the clock care and/or emergency services and the team at Allegro took care of everything or made care plans -- the communication is always outstanding and transparent. It is wonderful to know that you can trust them. I can't begin to express how thankful I am for the peace of mind they have given me and I have knowing that there is a great community of caring staff, a great group of other residents and so many activities and outings. Because of them, I get to spend precious time with my parents... instead of trying to be their caregiver.

My mom went there.. she got out.. according to the contract they had 90 days to return her money (partial refund but still a lot of $$) and they could charge a "service fee". Well they took full advantage of it all. They charged a massive service fee, and never returned the money by 90 days..so I had to "remind" them for her.. and then they sent it...like they really needed 90 days.. they enjoyed that float that whole time.. my Mom was only there a year and boy was that costly.. I wouldn't have even bothered with this review if they would have least been gentle on their service fee and returned the funds in good faith quicker.

She asked me three times about the anti-Covid vaccine, and the x-ray for tuberculosis even though it was negative, my answer was no, I did not take this poisoned medicine, furthermore if tuberculosis is negative the guidelines do not recommend having an x-ray. The second time was worse than the first, after I finished signing all the documents, I asked for a copy of my offer letter and a copy of the drug test, but she refused to give them to me, she also reported to her supervisor that I ask for a lot of documents and according to her she saw me as too sad to do this job. Then the HR manager came out of her office and told me that they couldn't hire me because I requested a lot of documentation and the company thinks we will have problems with me in the future. So I got fired from work. I was left speechless and obviously sad, for two reasons, first because I spent the whole night in the hospital with my wife, she is sick, fighting cancer, and chemotherapy is the only solution to keep her alive, the second reason it was because unprofessional, and less intelligent, people fill positions that are very important to process and handle new hires. Yes please guys stay away from this toxic place, the company has very sick management and toxic approach.

After my mother became less…read morehealthy, needed a walker, and developed dementia, they told her she "had" to go into their new memory care facility. On inspection, it was claustrophobic and like a prison. She said, "If you put me in there I will kill myself." They almost did do her in when she went into rehab for a cracked bone - the nurse was unresponsive to her delirium, so I forced them to call an ambulance and return her to the hospital where they discovered she was severely dehydrated and recovered immediately when given water. When I told Eric's #2 that I was moving her to an ALF in central Florida (because they would not honor her contract and find an ALF placement for her in house or out of house), she said to me, "You didn't give 30 day notice so you'll have to pay for another month." I said, check with your staff - they have my letter of notice and it has been exactly 30 days." 17 years at Bay Village - mom deserved better.

Our waiter wasn't very attentive, maybe kind of new. Couldn't give me a reason for no whip cream for our peach crumble. The fizzy water machine downstairs is really great but it broke the 2nd day we were there. I really think there should be an alternate water source downstairs when that happens. A water cooler with jugs of water would be great bc then you know it's filtered.
