My recent experience with a birthday cake at TSP Baking Company was a amazing experience! The Tsp Baking Company is located off of the 215/Decatur exit near LVAC. The instant that I entered the bakery, the team members were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. This helped my entire pick up experience wonderful since it was my first time inside the bakery. The Tsp Baking Company had mini cupcakes, cakes, ice cream, cookies and so much more! When I ordered my cake, I selected a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and chocolate ganache. It looked amazing. I would say it had a clean, professional appearance, nothing too elaborate, but it was well done enough for birthday celebration! Upon cutting into it, I could tell the cake was denser then I expected. However, it was still delicious! The chocolate was rich and satisfying, yet not overly heavy or sweet. The vanilla frosting added a touch of sweetness and a contrast to each bite making them enjoyable. Even though typically I prefer lighter, fluffier cakes, this cake still was very good! The only thing I'm upset about is not trying this spot sooner!! I have lived on the north side for years and never realized the little corner they are in, I've drove by not knowing!! There isn't any seating area inside but that's okay! I am very fond of cookies as my dessert of choice and I was pleasantly surprised with the array of choices here. I love supporting local, especially women owned and I've followed the owner on social media and she is such a kind soul, even got to meet her and she truly is lovely, you can tell the passion she has and it shows in her baking. I keep seeing Keri's Facebook post pop up on my Facebook feed and she's been hyping up the coffee cake. It has been sounding very good. My daughter being a big coffee cake fan, I knew i at least needed to get a piece for her to try. We made a quick trip and grabbed a slice. This is a HUGE texas sized portion. It is heavy too. (Must be the butter cinnamon river). I will say we both took a bite at the same time and we were NOT disappointed. My daughter said it's probably the best coffee cake she's ever had! I have to agree it is pretty darn good! I'm not sure it really needs the frosting but it is a nice touch. Definitely needs milk to go with it or black coffee. It is sweet but in a good way. I've tried many cookies and these by far, are the best. Soft in the middle, kind of crunch at the ends. They have seasonal cookies so it's good to try them all year round! They recently had a toasted marshmallow one with cracked caramel. It was so good. Went back for their fall cookies. They have the: black cat (coffee and chocolate based) - not my favorite Pumpkin spice - too sweet but so good with nuts in the middle Chocolate banana - love love love these! The banana flavor mixes well with chocolate! My favorites are the chocolate banana, dirty cookie, the toasted marshmallow, and the snickerdoodle. They do have about 2 cookies that are vegan. Happy Camper (August special) - Double chocolate cookie w/ marshmallow cream and toasted graham. Wicked messy but very yummy. 2. Dirty Cookie - Brown sugar with Oreo pieces. They say this is their most popular but I found it to be kind of average. 3. Mega Chip- Chocolate, white, pb, and butterscotch chips. My favorite of the bunch. Loved the explosion of the different chips. 4. Soft Ginger- You can't go wrong with a ginger molasses cookie. 5. I have yet to meet the owner after coming in about 5-7 times. I hear she is a hoot! The ambiance is a small bakery style- no chairs or seats, more of a to-go place. The bakery cases are inviting! with bright colors and seasonal flavors. I hate and love the bite sized cupcakes. I love it because it allows to try all the flavors, however if I like a flavor I wish I could have a larger one! Pros and Cons, but the cookies are a different story. The cookies are typical size and I love the options of flavors. The only knock I would say is the price. It is definitely a pricey place for cupcakes, but their 6" cakes are reasonably well priced! TSP has been My Bakery for Anything Special for several years. I was having a 70th birthday party for my sister, and I knew TSP could help me. Sister loves pigs, so I stopped in and told them what I wanted. No pictures, just a description. It was PERFECT. I also wanted custom piggy cupcakes, but since they only have mini cupcakes, I made little pink chocolate pig heads and brought them in. TSP put them on their cupcakes for me. So adorable. The girl taking our order was very sweet and she made recommendations on their top sellers so I ended up doing that. The cupcakes are about 2 to 3 bites and they are right under $3. The cookies have a lot of girth and those are right above $3 each. Their pricing is actually pretty fair granted the quality of baked goods that you are getting. They have a very good selection of cookies, ice cream, and of course cupcakes. They do also do custom cakes so if you have an event, I would 10 out of 10 recommend placing an order from here.
